You're in a car accelerating out of control, 75 - 100 mph, no brakes - what do you do? How 'bout TURN IT OFF.

This story sounds a bit strange - she said "I couldn't get the clutch down. I couldn't get the brake down." There was a mechanical problem found but it wouldn't effect the clutch or brakes. Even if the brakes got too hot and faded the clutch could still be disingaged. And she could have just turned it off. I guess she panicked.
