Komodo Dragons Kill With Venom, Researchers Find

Researchers have long thought that the Komodo dragon, native to Indonesia, kills via blood poisoning caused by the multiple strains of bacteria in the dragon's saliva.

But "that whole bacteria stuff has been a scientific fairy tale," said Bryan Fry, a venom researcher at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

History is replete with "Researchers have long thought..." references, but before the new discovery was accepted the fallen theory was usually taught as fact.

"This little creature is going to show us our connection with the rest of the mammals," he said.

"This is the one that connects us directly with them.

This is the 'one'. The Obama of the fossil world. Don't question it, there is no other possible explanation.
