Revisiting Old Wounds

The New Anti-Semitism

May 1945 ended the Second World War, and Hitler’s Third Reich. The defeat was absolute. Not only had the victorious allies destroyed the German nation’s ability to wage war, the NATIONAL WILL to wage war was destroyed as well. The aftermath of the war seemed to once and for all, be the end of German militarism, and the desire of Germans to be a domineering nation. For fifty years, there existed a great national remorse for having caused the Second World War, and the near destruction of European Jewry. That time is now at an end.

A Rising Star

China - Rising Asian Powerhouse

Napoleon once famously remarked, “China is a sleeping giant. Let her lie and sleep, for when she awakens she will astonish the world.” Attention world, the sleeping giant is now fully awake! First it was in trade, then technologies and now in an ever-increasing military build-up. China is truly becoming a superpower on the world stage.

Ouch!

James bumped his head Wednesday evening and went on playing as if nothing had happened. Irma noticed blood on her hand and took a closer look at him and sure enough, he had a cut on his head. He had no idea. We washed it out and it was big enough to think about getting stiches because it wouldn't close. We debated it. If it was on his arm it would only need a band aid to cover it, it wasn't really large, it was just the location.

We went to the emergency room and they looked at it and washed it off better. James was so excited to be there, he said he got knocked in the head like the three stooges. He was asking all kinds of questions about the equiptment and what the nurse was doing and was only really concerned about having to take off his clothes. The nurse assured him he could leave them on. They decided to give him two staples.

We went in a different room to get them and he was just fine, Irma and I were much more nervous. They had him lay on his stomach and turn away from them so they could work. Irma held him and reassured him. They gave him a needle to dull the pain and he hardly complained at all. They washed it again and put in the staples and he said he felt a slight pinch but that was all. He sat up and the nurse told him to hold still while she untangled his hair. He asked why and I told him some hair got tangled in the staples. He said, as if I were crazy, "I don't have any staples in my head!" We all just laughed. You do now, James.

Whan we got home I took a picture of it for him. He just looked and didn't say anything. He's been acting normal ever since, as if nothing happened.

Huh?

It's really boggles the mind when you know someone has got to be smarter than their actions let on. Maybe not.

What's worse, starving or becoming a human bomb (and taking innocent lives with them)?

The problem is not the wall. The problem is not Israel. The problem is entirely in the Arab mind and the problem can only be solved from within. Unfortunately, the Arabs will not humble themselves and see the problem clearly.

Socialism is Evil

It bears repeating: Socialism is evil

Can a moral case be made for taking the rightful property of one American and giving it to another to whom it does not belong? I think not. That's why socialism is evil. It uses evil means (coercion) to achieve what are seen as good ends (helping people). We might also note that an act that is inherently evil does not become moral simply because there's a majority consensus.

An argument against legalized theft should not be construed as an argument against helping one's fellow man in need. Charity is a noble instinct – theft, legal or illegal, is despicable. Or, put another way: Reaching into one's own pocket to assist his fellow man is noble and worthy of praise. Reaching into another person's pocket to assist one's fellow man is despicable and worthy of condemnation.

I don't think we truly understand how morally corrupt we are in this country - I mean, we're better than most, if not all other countries, true, but we're grading on a curve so we look better than we really are. Grading on a curve is deceptive in itself.

Dangerous Days Ahead

al-Aqsa mosque threatened by extremist groups

Israel's Security Minister warned Saturday of a possible attack on a Jerusalem mosque that is Islam's third holiest shrine by Israeli right wing groups seeking to derail a plan to pull out of Gaza.

They want to crash a plane into it.

Suddenly,

Human rights is a priority. When he was president the term was not even in his vocabulary.

Saddam files new human rights complaint

He should be treated as a human being who killed, maimed, tortured, humiliated ... I can't even make it sound, with words, just how terrible a person he has been and how much the people he ruled have suffered. His entire rule was completely inhuman and he should be dead right now. God will deal with Saddam, we should not be.

Let the Lawsuits Begin

Some people look at everything through the prism of black/white, even if it serves no good purpose.

Whites more to blame for 'global warming'?

A new study released by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation suggests rising temperatures will kill more black citizens than whites in the U.S., while claiming African-Americans are less responsible than others for causing so-called "global warming."

However, the latest scientific evidence tells us the very premise of their study is wrong.

"Global warming – at least the modern nightmare version – is a myth," he told the Telegraph. "I am sure of it and so are a growing number of scientists. But what is really worrying is that the world's politicians and policy-makers are not.

"Instead, they have an unshakeable faith in what has, unfortunately, become one of the central credos of the environmental movement: humans burn fossil fuels, which release increased levels of carbon dioxide – the principal so-called greenhouse gas – into the atmosphere, causing the atmosphere to heat up. They say this is global warming, I say this is poppycock."

They won't let the truth get in the way of their cause.
The Bottom Line

Why Bush Must Be Re-elected

These terrorists are convinced that non-Islamic nations do not have the will and courage to persevere in this ongoing struggle, which could last decades. They believe the democracies are weak-willed and will ultimately yield to whatever demands are made upon them.

By withdrawing their troops from Iraq in response to terrorist attacks, Spain and the Philippines have already shown that, tragically, terror tactics, including suicide attacks, car bombings and the beheading of innocent civilians, do work.

If John Kerry were to win this presidential election, would he stand up to terrorism to the same extent as George Bush has? I don’t think so.

Americans should be 100% united behind defeating the terrorists. If they are not put down and out, no other issue will matter. We might be all buddy, buddy with Europe under Kerry but they will stand by and watch as we drown. It doesn't matter how friendly we are with them, the allies of the United States cannot be relied on to stand by us in a time of real trouble. They will not.

China Warns U.S.

US shrugs off China warning, will continue selling weapons to Taiwan

China warned Tuesday that Beijing was "gravely concerned" over recent US moves on the Taiwan question, pointing out that the situation was "quite critical," particularly over arms sales.

The U.S. says:

"Well, I don't know why one needs to talk about recent US moves," US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said when asked to comment on the statement.

Boucher said there had been no change in US policy regarding China and Taiwan and vowed defence sales to Taipei would continue as enshrined in US law.

"We continue the sale of appropriate defensive military equipment to Taiwan in accordance with the Taiwan Relations Act," he said.

Is China serious?

Some 500 short-range ballistic missiles in China are currently aimed at Taiwan and US experts say they could destroy key Taiwanese targets with minimal advanced warning.

Natural Disasters More Frequent

A U.N. official says natural disasters, such as the recent deadly earthquakes in Iran and Algeria, are occuring with greater frequency than in past.

An interesting fact:

"The Bam [Iran] earthquake and the Algerian earthquake killed 30,000 people in seconds," said Jan Egeland. "That is more than most wars cost in a decade."

This is James with Abner's new dog, Foxy Lady.
Elton John Losing Marbles

Elton John has said stars are scared to speak out against war in Iraq because of "bullying tactics" used by the US government to hinder free speech.

I got news for Elton John. The U.S. government is not employing bullying tactics, that's what the left does. That's what socialists do, and communists, and Islam and every other kind of tyranical government that needs to enslave you in order to rule over you.

"There was a moment about a year ago when you couldn't say a word about anything in this country for fear of your career being shot down by people saying you are un-American," he told the magazine.

That's not from the government, it's the people speaking out in disagreement with you. If we don't like what you are saying we don't have to listen to it. It's called freedom. I know you're not used to the idea.

The singer said things were different in the 1960s.

"People like Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, The Beatles and Pete Seeger were constantly writing and talking about what was going on.

"That's not happening now. As of this spring, there have been virtually no anti-war concerts - or anti-war songs that catch on, for that matter," he said.

Things are different now. The people of America see that there are those who want to take away their freedoms. Freedoms that have been hard won, the price being paid in the blood of our Fathers and Mothers, brothers and sisters. If your anti-war song doesn't catch on it's because no one wants to hear it. It's because we don't agree with it. And you know what? You're still free to sing it. We don't have to listen but you can sing it all you want. No one is going to grab you in the middle of the night and cut out your tongue. You won't go to jail or be killed because of what you believe, but WE DON"T HAVE TO LISTEN TO IT EITHER. It's called freedom. It scares you, I know.

"On the one hand, you have someone like Toby Keith, who has come out and been very supportive of the Bush administration and the war in Iraq - which is OK because America is a democracy and Toby Keith is entitled to say what he thinks and feels.

"But, on the other hand, the Dixie Chicks got shot down in flames last year for criticising the president. They were treated like they were being un-American, when in fact they have every right to say whatever they want about him because he's freely elected, and therefore accountable."

First, America is not a democracy. I'm not going to explain it again, you're old enough to know better. Toby Keith is entitled to say what he thinks and feels and the Dixie Chicks are entitled to say what they think and feel. We, the people, are entitled to listen to either one, both or neither. We can choose to buy their records or not. We can choose to listen to the radio or not. The radio station is free to play the songs or not. They want people to listen so they play songs people want to hear. If the Dixie Chicks keep singing songs people don't want to hear they won't make as much money because people won't buy the songs. That's OK, that's freedom. If the stars are scared to speak out it's because they are scared to make less money, not because they are being threatened.

Now, if the government decides it needs to crack some Dixie Chick heads because of their songs, well, then they must have moved to a different country. That's not going to happen in America (*). That happens in China, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, etc, etc. Why can't you see the difference?

(*)Unless America keeps sliding to the left and people keep giving up their freedoms.

War Against Freedom

I just put up a transcript of Ronald L. Dart talking about the War Against Freedom. It is available, at least for the time being, on his website, CEM Network, in audio format, however, most people won't bother and I believe what he has to say is so clearly laid out, timely and just right on the money, that it should be available to read as well, to as large an audience as possible. Let freedom ring.

It seems to be our destiny to fight for freedom. Our country was born in a fight for freedom. And again, since our birth as a nation, we have gone to war, again and again, to save and restore freedom to oppressed peoples. And it may have been the destiny of an American president to stand next to the Berlin wall and make perhaps the most remembered demand of his presidency, “Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall.” That wall, that gray slash across the city of Berlin, was an affront to freedom that no free man could tolerate for long.

Will It Happen Again?

This is a truly scary article. But you really have to read the whole thing. The amazing thing is, everyone knows what's going on but no one can do anything about it. You can't search them, can't deport them, can't do anything - until it's too late. Then the question will be: Why wasn't anything done? Terror in the Skies, Again?

It kind of goes hand in hand with this: Democrats are gonna get us killed!

The whole situation in this country right now is very sad.

I wonder what's on TV tonight?
China, China, China

Chinese produce new type of sub

China's naval buildup has produced a new type of attack submarine that U.S. intelligence did not know was under construction, according to U.S. defense and intelligence officials.

China is a dangerous country. While the world points their collective fingers at America in a game of misdirection (and the American left eat it up), the truly dangerous countries quietly bide their time, building up, building up. China controls the Panama Canal. China has a major, deep water port 90 miles off the coast of Miami. China can reach every point in the United States except south Florida with nuclear missles. Of course, by submarine, no part of America is safe.

"China has decided submarines are its first-line warships now, their best shot at beating carriers," said Sid Trevethan, an Alaska-based specialist on the Chinese military. "And China is right."

China also is building two nuclear-powered submarines — one Type 093, believed to be based on the Russian Victor-III class and armed with intercontinental ballistic missiles, and a Type 094 attack submarine, which the Pentagon believes has a finished hull and will be ready for deployment next year.

According to Mr. Trevethan, China currently has a force of 57 deployed submarines, including one Xia-class nuclear ballistic missile submarine, five Han submarines, four Kilos, seven Songs, 18 Mings and 22 Soviet-designed Romeos. Beijing also has eight more Kilos on order with Russia.

Where's that remote?

What's Wrong With This Picture?

You can hardly go a week without hearing about how terrible America still is because of its past record of slavery which ended, what, about 140 years ago, give or take. Nobody seems to give a hoot that slavery is still being practiced by ... guess who?

The Islamic government in Khartoum has sanctioned slavery as part of its declared jihad against Christians and others in the southern part of the nation.

I guess it doesn't fit the America bashing agenda.

85 boy slaves freed in Sudan

The freed slave boys were among the tens of thousands of black women and children who had been enslaved by Sudanese government-sponsored militias during two decades of civil war. All of the boys reported that they were forced to work without pay and were frequently beaten and subjected to racial insults.

Yawn.

The Dead Zone

'Dead zone' a threat to Chesapeake Bay

Like the bill city residents get for sewage disposal, the dead zone reflects the cost of pollution to the bay's natural environment.

Scientists have known for at least 20 years that the bay suffers from too much nitrogen and phosphorous. Sewage effluent, malfunctioning septic tanks and animal waste and fertilizers that wash off the land furnish the nutrients. The nutrients feed algae and phytoplankton in the bay and its rivers. Those organisms die and the bacteria present during their decomposition use vast quantities of oxygen.

Dead zones caused by nutrient over-enrichment are a problem the world over. A low-oxygen zone in the Gulf of Mexico created serious problems with fisheries there.

Here's Some Good News. Really.

Here's a list of restaurants and other businesses that give you something free on your birthday.
The Missing Sink

Scientists are now saying that the oceans are absorbing 48% of the world's carbon dioxide output, thereby slowing the greenhouse effect. However, the sink effect, as they call it, is now changing ocean chemistry.

The resulting change has slowed growth of plankton, corals, and other invertebrates that serve as the most basic level of the ocean food chain. The impacts on marine life could be severe, scientists say.

How nice. We're destroying the oceans (in multiple ways now), we're destroying the ozone layer, the rainforests, the regular forests, the river systems, lakes, ponds and streams, the air we breathe, every species of animal and plant on the planet (except the pest species like cockroaches, fire ants, killer bees, rats, and anything else you kill on sight), arable land is disappearing, our food supplies are being poisoned with pesticides, mercury, diseases, hormones, human waste and who knows what else, even space is being polluted with old satellites, and on top of all that (and everything I missed), we're on on the verge, if it hasn't already begun, of World War!

It's so comforting to know the United Nations is ready and able to save us. Ha, ha.

And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:22

Scamming Scammers

You know those nigerian e-mails that offer you millions if you would just help them smuggle the money out of the country by sending them thousands and giving them your bank account numbers? They're not real, they're a scam. Do you believe it? Actually, I really don't understand anyone falling for them at all, especially since they've been in the news and I think everyone has heard of them unless they live under a rock or something. But, apparently, people do fall for them.

Well, there is a guy who turned the tables on one of them and actually got the guy to send him $80.00 and a picture of himself (he's probably that dumb) and go through some pretty funny stuff while he was at it.

Dark Ages

How to make Hitler look good

Sadly, there is alot of truth in this commentary.

The world of the mullahs is the world of the Dark Ages. It is an ugly place and it smells like a sewer. It is as enlightened as a cesspool. It turns its back on life and it celebrates death. Its heroes are suicide bombers. Its motto is, better a dead martyr than a living child. Who would choose to live in such a world? Only the hopelessly insane.

And on the left's twisted, backward thinking:

I can't be the only person who finds it peculiar that the very same people who break out in a cold sweat over the slightest overlap of church and state in the United States – who despise evangelical Christians and distrust orthodox Jews – have no problem arguing on the side of people who speak of jihads and who treat their women like chattel.

Iran Doesn't Like Us

Iranian leaders threaten U.S.

In a speech to the residents of the city of Hamedan on July 5, Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei said: "We, the Iranian people, within the borders of our country, will cut off any hand that harms our scientific, natural, human, or technological interests. We will cut off the hand that is sent to invade and work against our people's interests. We will do this with no hesitation. ... If the enemy has the audacity to harm and invade, our blows against it will not be limited to the borders of our country. ... If someone harms our people and invades [our country], we will endanger his interests anywhere in the world."

"Thus," he continued, "if the enemies show stupidity and make any mistake towards Iran, [Iran] will certainly use all the means and capabilities at its disposal."

Iran enjoys a "high deterrent ability," Javani said, "and if the enemy acts in madness and wants to try his luck, he will, as the leader said, quickly see his black fate, and will regret acting against Iran's Islamic regime."

In an editorial, the July 6 edition of Kayhan stated: "The entire Islamic Middle East is now a volatile and tangled trap, and will be set off by the smallest bit of silliness – and will reap many victims of the sinful adventurers. ... Indeed, the White House's 80 years of exclusive rule are likely to become 80 seconds of Hell that will burn to ashes everything that has been built."

Iran's "counter-reponse," the editorial said, "is likely to be called 'sudden death' and 'the Angel of Death suddenly revealed.' That very day, those who resist [Iran] will be struck from directions they never expected. The heartbeat of the crisis is undoubtedly [dictated by] the hand of Iran."

Obviously, their nuclear interests are centered only on energy production and they have no interest, whatsoever, in producing nuclear weapons. How could we have ever doubted them?

If an IPOD poses a security risk because of it's easy USB access to large amounts of memory, how about those little memory sticks that can go on your key ring or be concealed just about anywhere? They are so tiny (and awesome) and I've seen them with up to a gig of memory. They are the most helpful, easy to use product for computers I've ever used. Apparently they would also be well suited to espionage.

It's All Our Fault

Someone will find a way to blame the U.S. for this: The Earth's magnetic field is weakening

Is there anything that is not wrong with this world? Anything?

Wake Up and Go to Sleep

Here is another "smoking gun" illustrating the secular and leftist brainwash American children receive throughout their school life. For no defensible educational reason – especially given the poor general education that so many Americans receive – a public school invited gay activists to address students on behalf of same-sex marriage. But clergy defending man-woman marriage are not allowed to be invited.

The story also illustrates what ought to be considered a truism: The threat to an open society almost always comes from the Left. The most effective myth of my lifetime has been that the threat to an open society comes from the Right. In light of the fact that nearly every totalitarian regime in the 20th century was of the Left, the effectiveness of this myth is all the more remarkable. Yet, this successful attempt by the ACLU in Connecticut to stifle freedom of speech is just one more example of the totalitarian temptation that lies at the root of leftist ideals.

Finally, if civil libertarians now demand the stifling of speech on behalf of man-woman marriage, imagine what will happen if same-sex marriage becomes legal. Traditional Christians and Jews will increasingly be marginalized by the Left in the media, academia and in law – and declared as immoral as racists.

I let the turtle wander around outside while I was mowing the grass and the kids were playing. I lost track of him at one point and when I found him I told James he had to watch him. I continued mowing and James picked up the turtle and walked to the side of the house and turned the hose on him. I stopped the lawnmower. "James, what are you doing?" "I'm washing the turtle." He said. "I said watch the turtle, watch! Not wash." "Oh," he says, "I heard you say wash."

I think he wants me to go away.

I went out on the front porch and sat in the chair and this is what I see right in front of me. They normally run away but these two wouldn't stop until they were done.

There is a Purpose Being Worked Out Here Below

I transcribed an old radio broadcast by Herbert W. Armstrong called "The World Tomorrow". Well, one program anyway. This one is called The Purpose Being Worked Out Here Below. I don't know what year it was recorded, Mr. Armstrong died in 1986 and this has got to be at least 10 years before that, perhaps more. The message, however, is timeless. And priceless. Truth does not change.

Two booklets were offered during the program. The first was Why Were You born?

At the end of the program Mr. Armstrong offered the following book: The United States And Britian In Prophecy. It should be required reading.

Say What?

Daschle concerned about 'sobering' terror briefing

"It is absolutely essential for the U.S. Senate to turn its attention to what we can do to make America safe," Daschle said.
Of particular concern are the nation's borders and ports, Daschle said, and there are security issues unresolved as the homeland security appropriations are "hung up" in the Senate.

"The report is so sobering and so serious that I cannot bring myself to believe anyone in this administration would use this for political purposes."

I was surprised to hear Tom Daschle saying these things. I wonder what brought him into the realm of reality? I wonder what's in that report?

China to practice Taiwan 'invasion': D-Day-style assault planned by Beijing on nearby island.

Aren't they the friendly little country. Where's the U.N.? The left? They don't care as long as the United States and Israel don't try to protect themselves. China really needs that tiny, little island of Taiwan anyway. Communism/socialism = good, Freedom = bad.

I took Irma's car to a friend who does bodywork to determine if he can bend it back in shape. He says he can. I will update as he progresses. We are on a short hold while the insurance check clears because Irma sat on the check instead of sending it to the bank right away. It's fascinating to me that this damage can be bent back to shape. Envoys from the United States, United Nations, the European Union and Russia told Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia they have run out of patience with Arafat's "empty promises" of reform and that he is putting the so-called Palestinian cause at risk.

The E.U. and the U.N. are admitting that Arafat is a problem? That's news.

Glimpse at Early Universe Reveals Surprisingly Mature Galaxies: Observations challenge standing view of how and when galaxies formed.

"This was the most comprehensive survey ever done covering the bulk of the galaxies that represent conditions in the early universe," Glazebrook said. "We expected to find basically zero massive galaxies beyond about 9 billion years ago, because theoretical models predict that massive galaxies form last. Instead, we found highly developed galaxies that just shouldn't have been there, but are."

Shake It Up

Another earthquake in Israel. It was a 4.7 on the Richter Scale. Why do they always tell you it was on the Richter Scale? If we are talking about earthquakes I automatically assume it is the Richter Scale. Is there another scale for earthquakes with which we may become confused? Does Mr. Richter require you to say that every time you use his scale? Why not write it 4.7 RS?

Anyway, the Temple Mount didn't collapse yet, obviously, but it may be a few days before they report if it was damaged further.
Are They Really This Ignorant?

Congressmen without a clue. The congressmen who want U.N. observers in U.S. vote

"We are deeply concerned that the right of U.S. citizens to vote in free and fair elections is again in jeopardy," the lawmakers wrote to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The Democrats said they feared a repeat of the 2000 election, which was won by George W. Bush, a Republican, through the Electoral College count even though he lost the popular vote.

I have news for the congressmen. It could very well happen that the next president is elected by the Electoral College count even though he loses the popular vote. That is by design, that's the way our government works. The United States of America is not a strict democracy, it is a republic. I know that''s a little complicated but really, anyone taking part in the American political system should understand the difference. Anyone who has a job should know what their job is and what is required of them, is it too much to ask that of our political leaders?

Is it that they do understand the difference and don't care? Or are they trying to subvert our form of government? I have my suspicions.

Here is another take on it: Treason in Congress

These are people who have no concept of what makes America special in the world. They have no concept of the horrors perpetrated around the world by dictators and would-be dictators. They have no concept that America as a nation under God is and has been the great hope of the world.

Has Eddie Bernice Johnson ever read the Declaration of Independence? Has she ever read the Constitution? If she doesn't like our system of government here and thinks Kofi Annan and other foreigners have something better to offer, why doesn't she move out? Why does she flagrantly violate the Constitution she swore to uphold in an attempt to embarrass the country that has given her so much?

A Flaw?

A flaw in the E.U. constitution? In favor of Germany?
If You Hate America, Why Do You Live Here?

The Case For America Divorcing Its Haters

Why do they not renounce their citizenship, become citizens of France or Germany or Spain or Sweden, and live in nations that they believe are better than America? What do they insist on staying here, causing fights, cursing their countrymen, and creating misery and despair?

Leftists are to America what abusive wives, husbands and parents are to marriages: they are miserable, and they abuse those who live with them for all their miseries. They beat us. They insult us. They spew venom at us. They even help burglars, rapists and murderers who would try to break into our home and harm us.

Like some other bully in a family, who claims some pretext for her or for his violence and mistreatment of the rest of the family, these Leftists are the greatest and most flagrant criminals. They revel in their domestic abuse. They intimidate; they threaten; they curse; they accuse; they do everything except leave.

When one member of a family becomes so belligerent, so ungrateful, so angry, so disloyal and so unfaithful that she is no longer a real member of the family but simply a hostile stranger who uses the natural form of a home to exploit her family members, then the law allows this Potemkin relationship to be lawfully dissolved.

Are these indigenous America-haters entitled to more protection than that? When the planet is filled with people who would risk their lives for the opportunity to live in America, what right do the Sean Penn and Noam Chomsky types have to gobble up the blessings of citizenship? Why cannot the rest of us insist that they leave?

When mafioso used the privilege of living in America to hurt America, then they were deported. Why not say the sayable and think the unthinkable: Leftists, by and large, are not Americans. They are freeloaders whose rights are protected by young men whose blood is shed in the cause of liberty.

Perhaps they don't so much hate America as they love confusion and strife and causing problems. I've known people who just enjoy causing problems for other people - it's like their hobby. I don't stay around people like that very long.

In a resolution, adopted without a vote, the assembly gave the Holy See the same rights and privileges as other observers, including the Palestinians.

"We asked to refine the procedure of our status in the General Assembly ... but we stay observers," he told The Associated Press. "We have no vote because this is our choice."

The resolution gives the Holy See the right to participate in General Assembly debates without asking permission from regional groups, the right of reply, and the right to have its documents issued and circulated.

Most of the countries in the United Nations, if not all, are not Christian or are secular in nature - denying God.

But all bow to the Vatican. And only the Vatican.

Oh, one more thing:

Migliore said the Vatican shares the same goals as the United Nations - including promoting human rights and protecting the dignity of all people.

Anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-individual rights, pro-socialist utopia, all-powerful world government that will make it a crime to think contrary to what the government tells you, pro-dictator and I won't go on. Those who know, know, those who don't refuse to believe it.

I've Been Busy

I always have a chance to get on the internet at work but lately it's been so busy I really haven't been online much. Yesterday a bus pulled up in front of the hotel and I watched a couple of guys guiding the bus as it pulled under the overhang. At first I didn't believe it would fit but it did - he pulled in about half way to let out the kids inside. They checked in, the kids got out (about 48 of them. Well, unbeknownst to us all, when the kids got out, the bus, being lighter, raised enough to get jammed into the roof. The driver backed out with a loud cruching sound as the bus pulled the side of the roof out, breaking beams and breaking his A/C, freon steaming out.

The maintenance man was in the lobby talking to me and had just gone back to his room. The kids were on the way to their rooms, making alot of noise and I was bracing for the inevitable complaints from other guests. Nobody called except him. He asked if I just checked in a herd of elephants, I told him I did and he was the only one to complain - stop being such a baby. We hung up and 5 minutes later the accident happened. I called him back and told him to come up front - their was something he had to see. He said he was already undressed but I said it would be worth it. It was, these things don't happen very often.

Then I called the local sheriff to get a police report, they called the Florida Highway Patrol, who came out and said it's not their responsibility as it happened on private property. My question was, if it's not the local sheriff's responsibility and it's not FHP's responsibility, who's supposed to take care of it? If someone drives their car into the lobby I'm supposed to just handle everything myself? He went ahead and took care of the report for me, which makes me wonder why he bothered to tell me it was not his resonsibility in the first place.

That's it, the roof didn't cave in and the lights still work, so I'm happy.

Speaking of accidents, someone hit the side of Irma's car. It tore up the front and rear door but it doesn't look like much beyond that was damaged. The other driver was at fault and his insurance company is taking care of it. They gave us a check but they don't give you enough to fix it. You're supposed to take it to a body shop and the body shop gets with the inurance company to get the rest of the money. The insurance company estimate was $2300.00. I got another estimate from someone I know who was in the business for over $7000.00. I took it to another shop to get one and they refused to do it. They said just take it to a body shop and let them deal with the insurance company. How do I know what body shop I can trust to do a good job? If you're not going to come out a look at it and talk to me about it why would I want to do business with you? Irma said someone recommended a shop to her and she took it there. They are supposed to fax an estimate today. I just don't want any problems with the body shop - my history with auto shops is not full of good memories.

I went over the estimate with my friend and looked up the cost of the parts on the internet. The doors are over $1000.00 each. That doesn't include prep, painting and assembly. The insurance company found used doors but they are not the same color so they need to be taken apart and painted so you can't tell. I wish I could just find some doors the same color in excellent condition and I would just do it myself. Maybe I'm being too picky but I've seen cars come from a body shop that look good at first glance but when you look close, open a body panel, you can see the repair was not fully done and it looks bad, especially when you sell the car. The accident was not Irma's fault and I want the car repaired properly - it was almost perfect before this happened - no dents at all and didn't look its age at all.

I wish people would just watch where they are going and not be in such a hurry. Fat chance.

P.S. Irma is OK, no one was hurt, it was a very low speed accident. She was behind a car making a right into a parking lot so she was going slow. The other driver pulled out from that lot making a left right into her side. How you don't see a car right in front of you is beyond me.
