This Is Incredible!

I still can't believe what I'm reading. Well, I do believe it, I just can't believe it was written by the Catholic Church.

Over one hundred years ago the Catholic Mirror ran a series of articles discussing the right of the Protestant churches to worship on Sunday. The articles stressed that unless one was willing to accept the authority of the Catholic Church to designate the day of worship, the Christian should observe Saturday.

What a completely thorough examination of the subject!

The Christian world is, morally speaking, united on the question and practice of worshiping God on the first day of the week.

How true.

The Israelite respects the authority of the Old Testament only, but the Adventist, who is a Christian, accepts the New Testament on the same ground as the Old: viz., an inspired record also. He finds that the Bible, his teacher, is consistent in both parts, that the Redeemer, during His mortal life, never kept any other day than Saturday. The Gospels plainly evidence to him this fact; whilst, in the pages of the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles, and the Apocalypse, not the vestige of an act canceling the Saturday arrangement can be found.

The article goes on to prove, irrefutably, that the seventh day Sabbath is the one and only Sabbath day ordained by God and known by everyone in the Bible from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Period. Jesus kept the seventh day Sabbath, so did the Apostles, and the seventh day Sabbath was "an everlasting covenant" (Exodus 31:16), "and a perpetual sign," (verse 17). It goes on.

The Bible and the Sabbath constitute the watchword of Protestantism; but we have demonstrated that it is the Bible against their Sabbath. We have shown that no greater contradiction ever existed than their theory and practice. We have proved that neither their Biblical ancestors nor themselves have ever kept one Sabbath day in their lives.

The Israelites and Seventh-day Adventists are witnesses of their weekly desecration of the day named by God so repeatedly, and whilst they have ignored and condemned their teacher, the Bible, they have adopted a day kept by the Catholic Church. What Protestant can, after perusing these articles, with a clear conscience, continue to disobey the command of God, enjoining Saturday to be kept, which command his teacher, the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, records as the will of God?

This article really pounds Protestants with this issue. This is the Bruce Lee of articles.

The Catholic Church for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday. We say by virtue of her divine mission, because He who called Himself the "Lord of the Sabbath," endowed her with His own power to teach, "he that heareth you, heareth Me;" commanded all who believe in Him to hear her, under penalty of being placed with "heathen and publican;" and promised to be with her to the end of the world. She holds her charter as teacher from Him — a charter as infallible as perpetual. The Protestant world at its birth found the Christian Sabbath too strongly entrenched to run counter to its existence; it was therefore placed under the necessity of acquiescing in the arrangement, thus implying the Church's right to change the day, for over three hundred years. The Christian Sabbath is therefore to this day, the acknowledged offspring of the Catholic Church as spouse of the Holy Ghost, without a word of remonstrance from the Protestant world.

Let us now, however, take a glance at our second proposition, with the Bible alone as the teacher and guide in faith and morals. This teacher most emphatically forbids any change in the day for paramount reasons. The command calls for a "perpetual covenant." The day commanded to be kept by the teacher has never once been kept, thereby developing an apostasy from an assumedly fixed principle, as self-contradictory, self-stultifying, and consequently as suicidal as it is within the power of language to express.

Nor are the limits of demoralization yet reached. Far from it. Their pretense for leaving the bosom of the Catholic Church was for apostasy from the truth as taught in the written word. They adopted the written word as their sole teacher, which they had no sooner done than they abandoned it promptly, as these articles have abundantly proved; and by a perversity as willful as erroneous, they accept the teaching of the Catholic Church in direct opposition to the plain, unvaried, and constant teaching of their sole teacher in the most essential doctrine of their religion, thereby emphasizing the situation in what may be aptly designated "a mockery, a delusion, and a snare."

The Catholic church, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the Sabbath day from the seventh day to the first. They did this more than a thousand years before Martin Luther, so that puts it in, what, the 4th or 5th century AD, hundreds of years after Christ and the Apostles.

What a great find this article was. What a terrific last post of 2004!

I Know What You're Thinking

Can God Read You're Mind?

There are times when reading the Bible that what we think we know about God suddenly doesn't work.

Excellent, love the last line. How true is that?

Anyone interested in donating to the Tsunami victims can find information at The Command Post and there is some information here and here as well.

The devastation is incredible and the pictures and stories coming out are mind numbing. This morning on Fox news I saw where a train carrying over a thousand people was just completely blown off the tracks and destroyed.

And then I read something like this: Sri Lanka rejects Israel rescuers. Help is help. This is not the time to pick and choose who you want to help you. I don't think anyone on that train or any one of the countless who lost everything care who helps them. Does this mean if an earthquake hit Israel, Sri Lanka wouldn't send anyone to help? It's enough to make you think if Israel is not good enough to help out, perhaps Americans shouldn't help either. Of course, we will help anyway (as we should).

It just goes to show how we are nothing compared to the incredible power and energy built into the physical world we live in, and that pales in comparison to what lies beyond our planetary boundaries. We are completely at it's mercy. And the One who created it all, who put all that energy into the elements is Mighty and Awesome beyond words. The obvious question of why would He let this happen CAN be answered.

Why Did God Let It Happen?

When God Shakes The Earth No, God did not cause this earthquake.

Because I want to know, and I hope others really want to know as well. I think it deserves an honest answer.

The earthquake in the Indian Ocean must have really been terrible to live through. The stories and pictures coming out of those areas are amazing. The first article I linked to includes the story of a reporter who was swimming when the tidal wave hit. Unreal.

An Italian scientist said the earthquake was so strong it even disturbed the rotation of the Earth and "the whole planet is vibrating." I wonder how it disturbed the rotation of the Earth? What does he mean by that? The Drudge Report is saying it "Moved the entire island of Sumatra about 100 feet toward the southwest." That's incredible.

Unfortunately, I think this will pale in comparison to what will be coming on this planet in the future.

And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. Isaiah 2:19

Without question, more of these quakes will be coming.

Last Christmas Post

Reason for the (Christmas) Season, Part 1

Reason for the (Christmas) Season, Part 2

Perhaps, even after all of this information about the origins of Christmas, you are still wondering if there is some way to keep a "Holy Christmas" in your heart. After all, you don't think of pagan gods when you participate. And the lights are so pretty. And the spirit of giving seems so right. Surely, God looks on the heart. Can't He be pleased with Christmas if our intentions are pure? Wouldn't Christ be happy if we want to have a special day to honor His birth? Since Scripture does not contain a date, wouldn't it be acceptable to use a date that is commonly recognized by others as His birthdate?

But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' Luke16:31

This is James and Crooked Nose. This is the ugliest bull but also one of the friendliest. You can walk right up to him and pet him, he especially likes it under the neck. I'm told he makes beautiful babies.

The dog in front is Boomer, I think, and the other dog is Copper. Copper is the Australian Cattle Dog my neighbor wants me to take. He was rolling around in the wet grass and dirt and needs a bath.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

The Imam continued with espousing his vision for the future of Germany. "Muslims must work quietly and steadily to bring about an Islamic Germany." The crowd went absolutely ballistic, when the "holy man" screamed that, "We must take advantage of this so-called democracy, to build our holy mosques and spread Islam throughout this satanic country." The "holy man" continued to illustrate the future for Infidels. "Allah will not tolerate a Europe of Infidels. Strike them with the sword of Allah's holy cause. Slay the unbelievers and idolaters wherever they may hide and plot against you, the believers. Allah will surely bless you."

From The Trouble With Hateful Holy Men

It continues ...

Where will it end? Today, we are witnessing the foundation of a soon to come re-establishment of the traditional GERMAN NATION. When the coming economic collapse arrives, the government will fall seemingly overnight. From the sidelines, a new leader will emerge. A powerful speaker with new ideas, new programs, for a NEW GERMANY. You say it can't happen again. Why the world would never allow Germany to once again threaten anyone with a renewed militarism, a renewed world power status. Why, the United Nations wouldn't stand for it! Oh really.

Here Doggie

My neighbor is a cowboy. He doesn't look like a cowboy, he is a cowboy. That's his job. He's got 4 working dogs, 2 are Australian Cattle Dogs, they are called heelers, and the other 2 are called headers, but I forget the breed. Heelers nip at the back legs of the cattle to get them to move and headers work the front and stop or control the cattle. It's incredible to see those dogs in action, they are so full of energy and obviously love what they do.

The other day he asked me if I would take one of the Australian Cattle Dogs. He said it's a really great dog (and it is) but it just doesn't have the heart to work like it should, it's just not earning it's keep. It doesn't effect it's pet potential at all, it's a super friendly dog and great with the kids, he just needs a dog that will work.

I wish I could say yes. Irma doesn't want to have to deal with the loss of another dog and my head is ruling my heart. I really can't afford to take on that responsibility right now. I really like this dog though. I really want James to grow up with a dog. James likes the dog too.

What to do, what to do?

No Habla Engles, Senior

Living in Florida and working at a hotel I get asked if I speak Spanish alot. Most of the time, though, the person will just start speaking to you in Spanish assuming you do too. This can be a little annoying because, last time I checked, Florida was still part of the United States and English the main language of the land. It's annoying because of the assumption, not because they don't speak English, although many times they do speak English - which is even more annoying.

The point is, tonight I got a very telling call from an Englishman. The first thing he asked? "Do you speak English?" I wasn't expecting that - I should have said, "Si!"

DOJ Memo: 2nd Amendment is Individual Right

"It changes the courts' view of the issue and it applies a stricter standard of scrutiny as to whether or not a given law does infringe on an individual's constitutional rights," Waldron said. "They have to look at it from a civil rights perspective now instead of just [whether] the individual violated a given law."

Glad they finally figured that out, must have been all those years in law school.

Origins of Christmas

I noticed La Shawn Barber's Kwanzaa Is for Pagans post and she's absolutely right - and very well spoken. I read her blog often.

I noticed up front that she is working on a Christmas-is-not-pagan post. There are alot of good feelings associated with Christmas. Some of the most beautiful music is centered around Christmas. The lights, the decorated trees, the food, the family gatherings - what could possibly be wrong with all that? Well, the fact is, and just a little research on the web or in an encyclopedia will confirm this, all the trappings of Christmas ARE of pagan origin. The true origins of these customs are really not in question.

Christians celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25, but the fact is, Jesus was not born on Dec. 25. From Origin of Christmas:

The date of December 25th probably originated with the ancient "birthday" of the son-god, Mithra, a pagan deity whose religious influence became widespread in the Roman Empire during the first few centuries A.D. Mithra was related to the Semitic sun-god, Shamash, and his worship spread throughout Asia to Europe where he was called Deus Sol Invictus Mithras. Rome was well-known for absorbing the pagan religions and rituals of its widespread empire. As such, Rome converted this pagan legacy to a celebration of the god, Saturn, and the rebirth of the sun god during the winter solstice period. The winter holiday became known as Saturnalia and began the week prior to December 25th. The festival was characterized by gift-giving, feasting, singing and downright debauchery, as the priests of Saturn carried wreaths of evergreen boughs in procession throughout the Roman temples.

So, Christians are using the "birthday" of a pagan god to celebrate the birth of Christ. Is God OK with that? Because, really, that's all that counts. The only real question is whether Christians should use those customs to celebrate or worship God.

take heed to yourself that you do not become snared by following them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods that I too may do likewise?

You shall not do so to the LORD your God. For every abomination to the LORD, which He hates, they have done to their gods; even their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods.

All the things I command you, be careful to do it. You shall not add to it, nor take away from it. Deuteronomy 12:30-32

Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

For I am Jehovah, I change not. Because of this you sons of Jacob are not destroyed. Malachi 3:6

OK, but does the Bible have anything to say about Christmas? If you are truly seeking God and His will, not your own will, it would be of great benefit to read Jeremiah chapter 10.

So says Jehovah, Do not learn the way of the nations, and do not be terrified at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are terrified at them.

For the customs of the people are vain; for one cuts a tree out of the forest with the axe, the work of the hands of the workman.

They adorn it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers, so that it will not wobble.

They are like a rounded post, and they cannot speak. They must surely be lifted, because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them; for they cannot do evil nor good, for it is not in them.

There is none like You, O Jehovah; You are great, and Your name is great in might.

Who would not fear You, O King of nations? For fear belongs to You, because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You.

But they are all at once foolish and animal-like; the tree is an example of vanities.

Silver beaten into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the goldsmith. Violet and purple is their clothing; they are all the work of skillful ones.

But Jehovah is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to stand His fury.

So you shall say to them, The gods who have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.

He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by His judgment.

When He utters His voice, there is a noise of many waters in the heavens. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of His treasures.

Every man is stupid for lack of knowledge; every refiner is put to shame by the graven image; for his molten image is a lie, and no breath is in them.

They are vanity, the work of delusion; in the time of their judgment they shall perish.

The Portion of Jacob is not like them; for He is the Maker of all things; and Israel is the rod of His inheritance. Jehovah of Hosts is His name.

Gather up your bundle from the ground, you who live under the siege.

For so says Jehovah, Behold, I will sling out the people of the land at this time, and will distress them, so that they may find Me.

Woe to me for my breaking! My wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a malady, and I must bear it.

My tabernacle is ravaged, and all my cords are broken; My sons went away from me, and they are not. There is none to stretch out My tabernacle any more, and to set up My curtains.

For the pastors have become stupid, and have not sought Jehovah, therefore they shall not be blessed, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

Behold, the noise of the rumor has come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a den of jackals.

O Jehovah, I know that the way of man does not belong to man; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

O Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.

Pour out Your fury on the nations who do not know You, and on the families who do not call on Your name; for they have eaten up Jacob and have devoured him, and have destroyed him, and have made his dwelling desolate. Jeremiah 10:1-25

Don't believe me, believe your Bible. I can not change your mind about this, only God can do that.

Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For I say to you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be able. Luke 13:24

Of those that SEEK to enter in - this is talking about Christians, those who look to Jesus Christ as their Savior - MANY will not be able. It says STRIVE (struggle, contend, fight) to enter the narrow gate. It is not talking about all those who do not call Jesus their Lord or who do not know Him. Continue reading verse 25 - 27:

And once the Master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He shall answer and say to you, I do not know you; from where are you;

then you shall begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You have taught in our streets.

But He shall say, I tell you, I do not know you; from where you are. Depart from Me, all workers of unrighteousness! Luke13:25-27

And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?

Whoever comes to Me and hears My Words, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like. Luke 6:46-47

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.

Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?

And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Matthew 7:21-23

This is not something to take lightly! It is not enough to "be saved" and go on about your life like nothing happened. Go and sin no more! Once saved is not always saved. Sorry. That's the way it is. That's what Jesus says. If you got a speeding ticket and you went before a judge and he pardoned you, does that mean you can go back out a speed again without consequence? I don't think so.

I think it is plain to anyone who really wants to obey God that Christmas is not only pagan in origin but an abomination to God. Don't lie to yourself, don't cheat yourself. There is alot at stake here, don't believe what men say. Don't take anyones word for it, STRIVE to enter the narrow gate.

O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.

Evilution Revisited

The emperor's new species

Really, you need to read the whole thing, it's good, but these two paragraphs describe the whole idea behind evolution.

So if you want to believe in evolution, please be my guest. But do so with your eyes open, knowing that evolution's most transcendent purpose is, and always has been, to enable you to walk outside and witness the majesties of nature but to no longer have to see God's handiwork, the undeniable evidence of His love. Instead, you get to see the product of eons of "evolution" – of which man is the prideful pinnacle. And lucky day –- you'll be happy to know that evolution also just happens to open up the door to free sexual expression, unfettered by the laws of a nameless and faceless God.

And so, in your evolutionary world, man is the creator of his own destiny. He can genetically engineer himself and his world, transplant body parts, clone animals and humans, fabricate artificial parts of all sorts, imbed subcutaneous microchips, and generally just transform his body and soul into a new creature. In him – Man – all things are made new. Man has become his own god – creating and recreating himself unto immortality.

And the following paragraphs are typical of the reaction of the scientific community.

I recently listened to a broadcast debate between biochemist Michael Behe, a champion of "intelligent design," and another scientist defending evolution. After Behe presented his compelling case relating to the irreducible complexity of living systems – that is, the impossibility of their having evolved incrementally, since all the intermediate stages prior to the finished system (say, like wings) wouldn’t function properly and therefore would work against survival through natural selection – the evolutionist scientist rebutted by saying, and this is a near-quote: "Without the education and scientific background to understand the formulas and algorithms that pertain to this subject, it is almost impossible for your listeners to understand how evolution works."

In other words: You people without advanced degrees are too ignorant to understand how evolution works, so you shouldn’t even try, but instead just believe us Ph.D. priests, I mean, scientists, on blind faith.

Impossible to understand because it's impossible to happen.

Which of the Ten Commandments Did Jesus Repeal?

Was there something wrong with the Ten Commandments? Were they weak legislation in the first place? Or did they somehow become obsolete with the passage of time? If, as some suppose, the time came for the Ten Commandments to be abolished, there must have been a reason for it. The idea of the abolition of law is not foreign to us. We "abolish" or repeal laws often enough. But when we do repeal laws, why do we do it? There are many reasons. The law may be unenforceable. It may be unpopular with the people, and because of massive disobedience ("They can't put all of us in jail"), the law simply can't be maintained. The classic example of this was prohibition.

On the other hand, we may repeal legislation because it has become obsolete. There may have been a time when it was a good idea to require a flag man to walk ahead of an automobile as it passed through a town, but not anymore. Changes in technology, changes in population density, economic trends, natural disasters, can all make good legislation turn sour.

We could point to dozens of examples, but there is still only one fundamental reason for the repeal of a law: It is not a good law. It was either (1) a bad law in the first place, or (2) it became a bad law in time.

For which of these reasons did Jesus repeal the Ten Commandments?

Can You Get Any Sicker Than This?

They killed a woman who was 8 months pregnant, cut the child out and stole it.

They found the people who did it and if you ask me, the rest of their VERY SHORT lives should be very painful. Sometimes, our justice system works against us. More often than not lately.

Several pregnant women have been killed in recent years by attackers who then removed their fetuses, in some cases to pass the children off as their own.

The punishment should be swift and permanent. Painful would be a bonus.

For The Birds

I took the kids fishing at the lake and, lucky for me, they have free high speed wireless internet access here. Joshua got a lure and he is off casting his head off. He hasn't caught anything though. James was fishing with a hook and some bread but he quickly lost interest and is playing with his bird friends. He's been feeding them for 15 minutes now and there is quite a crowd of birds around. At one point they alll just took off at the same time leaving James wondering what the heck happened, but they all came back in a minute.

It looks like Joshua may have slipped and got his feet wet. He's a little way off but he looks fine. He's having fun. I wish I could find a better place to take kids fishing, someplace the fish practically jump out of the water at you. I had a place like that when I was a kid. Joshua just got back and he didn't fall in. He was trying to get his lure - it was stuck. He didn't get wet.

James ran out of bread and I think it's about time to go. I'm hungry and James was eating the bread along with the birds. Now James is chasing birds with the fishing pole - it is time to go. He can't catch them but I don't want him to do that anyway. It's not nice.

How Does God Work?

In an article entitled The God Who Does Not Hear, Ron Dart explores why it seems God is so slow to answer prayer, if He answers at all. The conclusion reached is really quite incredible. This is a must read for anyone wishing to understand God.

But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the Lord. Jeremiah 9:24

Don't Try This At Home

Alexander Joseph Swandic, 20, died of a gunshot wound to the heart Monday after donning a protective vest and asking David John Hueth, 30, to shoot him, police said.

Another Darwin Award winner.

Welcome to the Jungle

What's up with arresting and handcuffing a 10 year old because she brought a pair of scissors to school?

America's public schools are now government schools, and they are in the hands of imbeciles.

This is a must read: Pencils and other lethal weapons

The scissors were discovered when students' belongings were being searched for property missing from a teacher's desk. The school's excuse for this absurdity: Porsche violated a rule against having dangerous weapons in her possession. So they called police and had her handcuffed and taken to the police station in a filthy paddy wagon.

Now if this isn't crazy enough, consider the fact that nobody ever told Porsche or her mother that having pair of scissors in school was forbidden. And that's not all: "I received a letter of things she needed for school and scissors were on there," Jackson revealed.

The school's excuse – weapons are banned from the premises and scissors could be used as a weapon. But a No. 2 lead pencil can be used as a deadly weapon. Jammed into someone's eye and into the brain it could kill the victim. Are No. 2 lead pencils banned? Of course not. Just about anything can be used as a weapon. A detective once showed me a fountain pen like the one he said had been used to kill someone. These laws are ridiculous. Sure, ban guns and daggers and explosive devices, but scissors?

If this were an isolated incident it might be considered an aberration. But this kind of nonsense is becoming commonplace in our idiotic government school system. Drugs are banned and a child can be expelled for having an aspirin. The school, however, doesn't hesitate to force kids to take drugs to make them more docile and manageable. And those drugs have been shown sometimes to provoke students to kill themselves or their classmates.

One word. Vouchers. Please.

He goes on to list other outrages being perpetrated by those who run government schools and concludes with:

These are all assaults on America's parents who have lost control of what were once "public" schools but have now been taken over by big government and a host of imbecilic educrats who can't tell a pair of scissors from a deadly weapon. These things will continue to happen until more and more parents yank their kids out of the government schools, or even better, take their schools back.

I Believe in Creation

Here's a excellent commentary by Joseph Farrah. Not many people are willing to take a stand against the doctrine of evolution.

The theory of evolution is now being treated like Holy Writ. That's not science. It's religion.

And no, God didn't use evolution to create the world we know. If one kind of animal could be changed to another through evolution, science would have done it by now. Do you think it hasn't been tried? If it was ever successful (no matter how slight) they would be shouting from the rooftops about it. They can create every color and variety of mouse or dog or cat or whatever, but they cannot breed one kind of animal into another. It just doesn't work.

If something in science suddenly becomes so sacrosanct that you can't question it, then it ceases to be science. It's actually a contradiction of the principles of science and the scientific method, which requires testing, evidence, proof.

Oh, they've tested all right. They can't do it. They say a chimp and a man share over 90% of the same DNA. So. They are similar creatures. Why wouldn't they share DNA? Why wouldn't the Designer use similar features in many animals? You can tell who makes a car by looking at it, can't you. You can tell an artist by the artwork. There are similar features in an artists work. Certain themes are visited over and over.

It seems to me when authorities are unwilling to accept any criticism of their doctrine, there is probably good reason. In the case of evolution, that reason is the theory itself is little more than speculation unsupported by evidence.

I've been through the indoctrination camps in high school and in college. I remain thoroughly convinced that evolution is nothing more than a religious tenet of secular humanism – unsupported by facts and unsupportable by facts. I am hardly alone.

No, he is not alone.

Evolutionists are incapable of selling their ideas in an open marketplace. Instead, they resort to Soviet-style coercion and censorship to impose their views on others. Remember, it was the communists who made a special point of teaching that God played no role in the creation of the universe and mankind. Evolution became their god, and history is repeating itself in America's classrooms today.

There's that Marxist/communist influence again, the religion of fools. That ties into a quote from a commentary by Peggy Noonan:

You can get so well educated in America that your thoughts become detached from common sense. You can get so complicated in your thinking that the obvious isn't real to you anymore.

Junk Science

Baby Jesus had hypothermia

Oh, really? And just how did they figure that out?

They analysed how Jesus appeared in nativity paintings, compared with what the temperature would have been on 25 December, publishing their research in this week's Medical Journal of Australia.

Nativity PAINTINGS? They are publishing this research (if you can call it that) in the Medical Journal of Australia based on the IMAGINATION of artists, none of which were actually alive at the time of the birth of Jesus. Are any of the paintings they used even 1000 years old. I seriously doubt it. It's like the popular pictures of Jesus, which are of relatively recent origin. Someone painted what THEY thought Jesus may have looked like and it gradually became excepted that Jesus actually looks like that. If the real Jesus returned and walked among us today nobody would recognize Him.

The fact is, Jesus was NOT born on Dec 25 or anywhere near that date. I wrote about that previously.

At least they got something right in this article:

Pope Liberius decreed 25 December as the date for Christmas in the 4th century AD, possibly to compete with pagan festivals celebrating the winter solstice.

The killing machine that is Marxism

Of all religions, secular and otherwise, that of Marxism has been by far the bloodiest – bloodier than the Catholic Inquisition, the various Catholic crusades, and the Thirty Years War between Catholics and Protestants. In practice, Marxism has meant bloody terrorism, deadly purges, lethal prison camps and murderous forced labor, fatal deportations, man-made famines, extrajudicial executions and fraudulent show trials, outright mass murder and genocide.

And what did Marxism, this greatest of human social experiments, achieve for its poor citizens, at this most bloody cost in lives? Nothing positive. It left in its wake an economic, environmental, social and cultural disaster.

I cannot believe anyone with half a brain would still believe any good could ever come out of Marxism/communism, yet that movement marches on and on and on. Our children are indoctinated with many of the principals of this garbage ideology. One example, children in our local government schools are required to bring in their own pencils and supplies to school, which are then confiscated by the teacher and passed out on an as needed basis to other students. How about the old "Did you bring enough for everyone?" we've all heard.

The more power a government has to impose the beliefs of an ideological or religious elite, or decree the whims of a dictator, the more likely human lives and welfare will be sacrificed. As a government's power is more unrestrained, as its power reaches into all corners of culture and society, the more likely it is to kill its own citizens.

They want to bring our government to that point.

Our academic and intellectual Marxists today are getting a free ride. They get a certain respect because of their words about improving the lot of the worker and the poor, their utopian pretensions. But when empowered, Marxism has failed utterly, as has fascism. Instead of being treated with respect and tolerance, Marxists should be treated as though they wished a deadly plague on all of us.

Sleep Tight

U.S. not sleeping tight as bedbugs renew bite : Some scientists see plague tied to DDT ban

Outbreaks of bedbug infestations have been reported from coast to coast, north and south and among rich and poor. Experts attribute the plague largely to two factors: increased travel and the banning of DDT and other effective pesticides that virtually wiped out "Cimex lectularious," the Latin name for the pest.

What next?

China, Russia Will Hold First War Games

And at the end time, the king of the south will engage in butting with him. And the king of the north shall come against him like a tempest, with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships. And he shall go into the lands and shall overflow and pass over.

And he shall enter into the glorious land, and many will be stumbled. But these shall escape out of his hand: Edom and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.

And his hand will stretch out against the lands, and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

But he will rule over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all Egypt's desirable things. And the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

But news shall trouble him from the east and from the north. And he will go out with great fury to destroy and to devote many to destruction.

And he shall plant his palace tents between the seas, in the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, and there is not a helper for him. Daniel 11:40-45

50 Years of Warning

They Stole My Email Address

One of the addresses I have is being used by some spammer as a hidden return address and I keep getting "Returned Mail: user unknown" messages from it. They are not using the account to send them, so changing the password has no effect. I don't know what to do about it. It's not my main address and I can just get a new one but I don't want to. I would rather find out who is doing it and make him eat his computer. The messages don't even show my address any where on them.

Resident captures intruder

Leonard Gamage is sore today, which is understandable since he spent more than 45 minutes fighting off an intruder late Friday.

Gamage, 87, suffered some bumps and bruises in a pair of fights with the intruder, who is an unidentified 20-year man. Leonard told the Journal he does feel good about still having the ability to defend his home.

"I'm an old soldier," Gamage said. "I was in quite a few scuffles in the Army. I feel like I can still go if I have to."

45 Minutes? You would think he would just run away after meeting with so much resistance, especially when the homeowner has a gun. The old man did have a rifle and fired two warning shots and had to shoot the intruder - in the foot. I honestly don't believe I would have been so kind.

Christians in America have it pretty easy compared to Christians in many other countries. Don't think there aren't people who would love to do this to American Christians - another reason to not take the anti-Christian movement lightly.

It's funny how the most intolerant people are those who claim to be the most tolerant - the left. Why are they so offended by the word "God" or anything at all to do with God. The Christian God, other gods are OK. Offended? What's the big deal? Are they so insecure in their own beliefs that they can't tolerate faith in another person? Are they afraid it's contagious?

While I prefer to live in a world where everyone keeps God's commandments, I'm under no illusion that the world will ever be that way without direct, divine intervention. It doesn't offend me if someone doesn't believe in God. Or believes in another god, unless that god tells them they have to kill me, my family, friends and fellow countrymen. That does offend me, and it should. But generally, to each his own. If you want to take someone elses rights away, well, they may be coming after your rights sometime in the future. No, America works best the way it was meant to work. No separation of church and state - it's not in our founding documents, but no state religion either. You're free to believe or not believe, express or not express. Freedom is the operative word here and when you take someone elses freedom away, you lose some of your own. Freedom can be frightening and I think that's the reason so many are willing to trade it for security. But then, they don't trust God, don't believe what He says, and don't believe He exists. In order for America to work best, to work as it was meant to work, requires a people of deep faith in God.

If people are going to be so easily offended, I think that should be their problem. It's paralyzing this country. It hit me one night while I was at work. I was walking back past the pool and I almost ran into a guy - drunk and naked. I told him he couldn't walk around like that and to go back to his room. He ignored me. We've had some problems with this guy before so I went back to the lobby and called the police. They came out and I told them what happened. He had gone back to his room by now so the police didn't see him outside. I was walking with them towards his room and they explained that they really couldn't do anything about it unless it offended me. Did it offend me? I wasn't expecting that question and I had to think about it. No, it didn't offend me, I just thought that he shouldn't have been walking around the hotel naked, it just isn't done. Other guests most likely wouldn't like to see it either - it's not a nudist hotel. Are people allowed to walk around outside naked? I didn't think so. But, apparently, I had to be offended and I wasn't willing to go there. I wasn't offended. Not liking something does NOT equal being offended.

Maybe if the officer saw him it would have been a different story, I don't know. We went to his room and knocked but he didn't answer. I used my key to open the door and it opened a crack but the chain was on the door. The officer shone his light in and the guy was laying in bed, clothed, and watching TV. He completely ignored us. He was awake, he just would not acknowledge that we were at the door, shining a light on him and talking to him. He was checking out the next morning so we just left him alone and I checked to make sure he didn't come back out later. He was going to check out whether he wanted to or not. Very strange fellow.

Shift Knob Will NOT Come Off

I just saw this conversation on a forum anmd I thought it was pretty funny so I'll share it. Edited slightly to shorten it.

I am trying to replace the leather covered shift knob on my 2002 Seville SLS, but the knob is refusing to come off. I have been told, and I have read, that it pulls straight off. I am pulling with extreme force, and the knob isn't moving. I went as far as opening the sunroof, sitting on the console, so I could use my legs, as well as my arms, to pull this thing off. I am afraid of damaging the shifter unit. WTF? I will get this thing off the car, even if I have to buy a new shifter unit. But, I would like to avoid that. Is there something I am missing? I am no small guy. I may be short, but I am quite strong. This thing is kicking my ass. Thanks for any help, that anyone may provide, that will help me out.

Hmm... I took the shifter off of my 2001 SLS just the other day. I also read that it pulls right off, and it did. The instructions I read said that I should expect it to take a good bit of force, and it did. But it sounds like you ARE putting that kind of force on it. I was able to reasonably easily do it just sitting in the driver's seat.

Sounds like maybe something could be wrong with yours, like it's stuck or something.

Ya think?

While at work today, I was explaining to a co-worker, what was happening. After he stopped laughing (because for the first time, a car is beating me), he tried also. I also tried, and this knob seems welded on. I swear, if we pull any harder, the whole shifter will pull out of the floor. I really wanted to save the shifter knob, as it is in great shape, but, I am going to cut it up. I will first try to do it nicely, by cutting the stitching out, to hopefully be able to put it back together. If that gets me nowhere, out comes the Sawzall. And I have a nice one.

Believe me, I have tried everything. I tried removing it, in each gear postition, twisting left, twisting right, pushing forward, pulling back. pulling back while twisting right, the list goes on and on. I will try one more time, and this time I am going animal on it. I just hope I dont break the mirror.

Isn't it a pisser how sometimes the things you WANT to get off your car (e.g., Shift Knob) seem welded on with all the force of cosmic gravity, and the parts you want to stay ON (e.g., my 02 Hood Ornament) seem attached with fly-wing tendons (and weak ones at that)...

Right from the GM factory shop manual.

1#Firmy grasp the shift control knob.
2#Pull straight up to detach from the shift lever.
Note: Detaching the shift control knob from the shift lever may require a large amount of physical effort.
Do not twist the shift control knob while pulling.

Well, I finally got the POS knob off the car. I introduced the knob to Mr. Milwaukee, and the new knob now resides on the shifter stem. Here's a pic of what is left of the old knob.

Awesome. That must've felt good. Is that a little "U" retainer clip I see there in the pic?

Yeah, that's it. I thought for sure that the thing was broken. But there it is, all looking new. I guess that I just lost some oomph, now that I am getting older. Oh well, the new knob is on, and I couldn't be happier.

Well, that's the other way to take it off.

This is Your Brain on drugs

I just had a guy call me from one of the rooms to ask the time. I told him it was 2:45. 2:45 in the morning I said as he repeated the time and I heard his wife in the background saying, "in the morning, in the morning." He hung up. He called back to ask what time the buses start running. Then he said he was supposed to have an 8:00 wake up call and he didn't get it and he's going to be late for his doctor appointment. I listened to him drone on for a minute wondering what Twilight Zone episode I was on. I was about to tell him it was 3:00 am and to go back to bed when his wife grabbed the phone and apologized and told me she wouldn't let him call again and to cancel the 7:00 am wakeup call. OK and thank you.

Just how do you get a 2 inch nail driven into your forehead and not know it? For 4 years! He said he remembers banging his head at work, maybe that was how. Sometimes you get a small cut and don't know how you got it, but a nail?

The second part of the article is equally as puzzling. He got six nails in the back of his head when he "slipped and fell while working April 19, triggering the gun which was said to be in automatic, rather than manual mode."

An automatic nailgun? Why would you need an automatic nailgun? How often do you put multiple nails in the same place? Maybe he thought it was cool to have it. And anyway, how do you get it to put 6 nails in the back of your head by falling? Perhaps I'd rather not know.

The Pope of all truffles? What exactly does that mean anyway?

Too Heavy? Too Funny!

I don't know where this originally came from, I found it on a forum.

Answers from various quarters to the question,
"Can God make a rock too heavy for Him to lift?"

Generic citizen: I thought only the government did stuff like that.

Arminian: Yes, but man can help Him lift it.

Calvinist: The question is irrational, counterintuitive, and absurd. I like it.

Baptist: Well, the rock would probably be lighter if it were totally immersed . . .

Word-faith teacher: Yes, but when God started positively confessing, the force of faith would pop that thing 300 feet in the air!

Wesleyan: He could lift it, but there's always the possibility it could fall away.

Catholic priest: The rock is held down by weight alone, but not by gravity alone. Rather it's held down by gravity plus mass; gravity without mass is dead. And that's why it's important not to miss mass without a good reason.

Catholic lay person: It's a mystery.

Seventh Day Adventist: As long as He didn't do it on the Sabbath, I don't have a problem with that.

Church of Christ member: As long as there were no musical instruments involved, I don't have a problem with that.

Reformed Presbyterian: He better not do it on the Sabbath OR involve musical instruments.

Five-year-old: What would He want to do that for, Daddy?

Blonde: Huh?

5th grader: I don't know; the dog ate my R.C. Sproul book.

Private civil attorney: At the time He created the rock, God knew, or should have known, that it would be too heavy for Him to lift. Seven angels had advised Him previously not to make it that big.

Corporate civil attorney: God was well within established standards for divine creativity when He made the rock . . .

Missionary: I don't know about that, but I do know that rocks can be demon possessed. I remember this time in Brazil . . .

OSHA: If the rock is over 50 lbs., He can't legally be required to lift it without help. Over 100 lbs. He's supposed to use a hoist or a forklift.

EPA: Both the creation of a rock that large, and its subsequent elevation, could have significant environmental impact. We can't approve the project without extensive studies.

MBA graduate: This is a good example of what happens when a manager fails to delegate and tries to do everything himself. God should have assigned all the lifting to angels, leaving Him free to do what He does best, the creative stuff -- like creating.

Psychotherapist: What are the rocks you've made in your life that are too heavy for you to lift?

Hindu: The rock IS God.

Engineering dept. manager: He could make it out of magnesite over chicken wire, hollow inside. That way it could be really big and impressive looking and still light enough for Him to lift.

Logician: Like the One who created gravity in the first place couldn't turn it off if it got to be a problem?

90-year-old Christian: Well, throughout my long life God has always enabled me to carry burdens that were too heavy for me; I don't think that should be a problem for Him.

Does Evil Exist?

This has a thought provoking message no matter how you believe. The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists? A student bravely replied, "Yes, He did!" "God created everything?" the professor asked. "Yes, sir," the student replied. The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil. The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question, professor?" "Of course," replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?" "What kind of questions is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question. The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody and every object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have too little heat.

The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?" The professor responded, "Of course it does." The student replied, "Once again you are wrong, sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil." To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light." The professor sat down.

The young man's name ---- Albert Einstein

I don't know if Albert Einstein really said this or not, but it doesn't matter. I like it anyway.

And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.

For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. John 3:19-20

Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

I have come as a Light into the world, so that whoever believes on Me should not remain in darkness. John 12:46

And this is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5

High On The To-Do List

Department of Education must be abolished

The federal Department of Education was made a part of the president's Cabinet by new world order facilitator Jimmy Carter. Prior to that, America had the finest education system in the world.

That's good enough reason right there.

Most Americans believe "communism is dead," but nothing could be further from the truth and one of the major goals of the propagators of global communist tyranny has always been to get control of America's education system. What better way to reach "the unwashed masses" than through a federal department of education? The tenth plank of the "Communist Manifesto" reads: "Free education for all children in public schools," and this is one of the highest goals of communitarians.

What else has communism given us? How about separation of church and state? That is not found in our constitution. Where is it found? In the constitution of the old Soviet Union!

Article 52 (2) In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church.

The rallying cry of the left comes from the Soviet Union, imagine that! Haven't you had enough of the nonsense yet? The American people need to know the truth.

The federal Department of Education must be booted out of the states. Public schools must return to educating children with the basics and stop all social engineering and communitarian indoctrination. To continue down the same path of tossing trillions of dollars at the federal Department of Education is to guarantee transforming America's precious children into the "New Communist Man." We the people must stop this madness.

Judges Gone Wild!

You get a traffic ticket, you go to the court room indicated on the ticket, you go to jail because it was the wrong room!

By the time the 11 finally discovered that they had been misdirected by court personnel and asked to appear before the judge to explain what had happened, he would not see them and ordered their arrests.

Judges like this do too much damage to our judicial system and this judge needs to go.

Dumb and Dumber

Police: Dealers Report Stolen Marijuana To Authorities

According to the police report, the couple returned to the home they share and found the home broken into and a quarter-pound of marijuana missing. They immediately called authorities to report the break-in and theft.

Police said the couple told them they were going to resell the marijuana and allowed the detectives to search the apartment. Investigators discovered several marijuana stems among other drug paraphernalia during the search

I bet they never found the thieves, though.

Simple Faith

A widowed writer does something highly unusual: She takes God at His Word

In this book review by Andree Seu, she has this to say about the author:

Ms. Broderick figures that when the Bible says "suffering produces character and character, hope," it means that suffering produces character and character, hope. I, on the other hand, have interposed a baroque system of hermeneutics between the Bible and my life. I have seminary training. Unlike simple people who obey the Bible because they don't realize how complicated it is, I find ambiguity in every verse. I don't obey Scripture, I discuss it.

I don't obey scripture, I discuss it?

Jesus has this to say on the subject:

And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?

Whoever comes to Me and hears My words, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like.

He is like a man who built a house and dug deep and laid the foundation on a rock; and a flood occurring, the stream burst against that house and could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock.

But he who hears and does not perform, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, on which the stream burst, and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.

Luke 6:46-49

Obey first, discuss later.

They Really Are Insane Aren't They

Sheik: Allah sent giant spiders to combat U.S.

"The first miracle that occurred in Fallujah took the form of spiders that appeared in the city – each spider larger than this chair, or about the size of this chair. The American soldiers left, holding the legs of this spider, and I too, in one of the Friday sermons, held up a spider, with all its magnitude, in front of the satellite channels and in front of the world. This spider also had thin black hair. If this hair touches the human body, within a short period of time the body becomes black or blue, and then there is an explosion in the blood cells in the human body - and the person dies."

Wow. Spiders with thin black hair that cause exploding blood cells, sounds horrifying.

Some Arab Internet sites have repeated claims of Iraqis about the spiders, and there also are stories circulating of phantom white-robed knights on white horses sent by Allah that killed U.S. Marines in battle.

Keep dreaming.

Al-Sumide'i claimed there were mass graves in Iraq filled with the bodies of American forces.

"A mass grave was created in a desert area near the Saudi boarder for the American soldiers killed. There is also a lake near Al-Sa'diya. The Americans place the casualties inside white or black bags, seal them and toss them from a plane into the lake."

Does it ever occur to them that people will find out they are making this all up? Or does it never occur to the people to question such bizarre claims? Don't they already know they live a lie?

Lawsuit on the Horizon?

Car tells driver to do freeway U-turn

The man told officers his car GPS had told him to "make a U-turn immediately" as he drove along lost near the town of Nancy in search of a hotel.

Is just a little bit of common sense too much to ask? If it told him to go half way across the bridge and make a right, would he do that too?
