And then, when we incur the consequences of our own prideful, foolish decisions, we try to cast the blame on others, on God, on anything or anyone but ourselves.

In any advanced society, there will be a certain number of dysfunctional citizens either unable or unwilling to do what is necessary to support themselves and their dependents. What to do about such people? Ignore the problem? Attempt to fix it? The former nags at the liberal guilt complex, while the latter is way too much like hard work: the modern progressive has no urge to emulate those Victorian social reformers who tramped the streets of English provincial cities looking for fallen women to rescue. All he wants to do is ensure that the fallen women don’t fall anywhere near him.

So the easiest "solution" to the problem is to throw public money at it.

Any transition away from those sources is going to be a decades-long, maybe even a century-long process. ... The world consumes 200 million barrels of oil equivalent in hydrocarbons per day. We would have to find the energy equivalent of 23 Saudi Arabias."

The greens don't care that it won't work because that is not what they are trying to achieve. They don't care about energy, they care about power - their power over YOU.

Break Out of Sheepledom

America's sheeple: Driven by emotion

This commentary speaks to the mentality of those who do not understand either the necessity of self-defense or the roles that prudent preparation and self-defense technology should play in the lives of free citizens. It is fundamentally an attitude ascribed to what some call "sheeple" – subjects rather than citizens, the Great Undecided Middle who comprise a plurality of Americans (and a majority of citizens and subjects abroad). To the sheeple, armed citizens are the enemy, not criminals or societal predators. To sheeple, the very notion that danger could exist within society, or that it is only reasonably responsible to be prepared for that danger, is paranoia. Armed citizens are not and cannot be responsible men and women exercising their constitutionally protected rights to self-defense; they are, in the minds of sheeple, vigilantes. Notions of self-reliance and self-preservation are lost on sheeple; they believe that either you will never need to preserve yourself, or that if you experience an emergency you will (and you must) call on the recognized authorities to come and save you.

To sheeple, what they feel supersedes reality. Sheeple's emotions, their wishful thinking, has been substituted for an objective recognition of what truly is. Sheeple will speak loudly and proudly about how they've never felt the need to be armed, or never felt the need to prepare or train for self-defense, or perhaps how they've never felt "unsafe" even in dangerous areas. What's more, they'll project their wishful thinking onto others, concluding that armed citizens (those wacky conservatives and libertarians especially) are "fearful." You see, sheeple are what firearms guru Jeff Cooper characterized as non-copers. They resent and fear copers, those who are more capable and better prepared than the sheeple. Considering someone else's superior preparation makes the sheeple confront the conflict between what they wish to believe and what truly is – producing the uncomfortable sensation that is cognitive dissonance.

The fact that law enforcement and emergency personnel can rarely be where you need them exactly when you need them is lost on sheeple. Recordings of calls to 911 centers, in which victims scream for help as they are assaulted and murdered by societal predators, make no impression on sheeple. The very idea that you are responsible for yourself and your family – not your government or anyone else – is anathema to the utopian fantasy world in which sheeple live.

It's not easy waking up to reality, but it's so worth it.

It seems like there is someone behind the curtain running the show and Obama just goes on stage and reads from a script. He's a complete screw up when off the teleprompter.

"Now, with respect to Ms. Birnbaum, I found out about her resignation today," Obama said. "So I don't know the circumstances in which this occurred."

That explanation flummoxed reporters in the room, who seemed surprised to learn that the president wouldn’t know exactly what had happened to one of the key figures in an ongoing federal emergency – the one he was holding a news conference on at that very moment.

Glenn Beck

I agree with this assessment of Glenn Beck. He is our warning before the fall.

Beck's show is so good that I'm convinced if a person doesn't watch it on a regular basis, it's almost impossible for him to understand the true causes of the moral and economic collapse of the United States – or even that it is collapsing – because no one else on TV covers most of the stories he dissects in impeccable detail. His modus operandi has been to expose the bad guys through their own words by playing audio and video of them shooting off their mouths and by quoting their writings.

For quite some time now, I have believed that Beck has become so good at exposing the truth, so well-respected and so powerful that the Forces of Darkness in the White House and Congress view him as a major threat to their aspirations to eliminate the Constitution, the rule of law and individual sovereignty in the United States. (In fact, they now refer to him as "the Beck problem.")

But, as I have written in the past, the Obamafia is in a no-win situation with Beck. If its leaders ignore him, he will continue to disrobe Chairman Obama and his malevolent progressive pals through their own spoken and written words.

On the other hand, as they have already discovered, the more they try to discredit Beck, the more attention they draw to him – and the more people will learn about the details of how they plan to fundamentally transform America. Worse, their childish mudslinging is no match for Beck's 60 minutes of hard-core truth five days a week (not to mention his three-hour daily radio show).

So Beck keeps raising the ante, and there is no question in my mind that the oligarchy in Washington sees him as a major obstacle between where they are today and their ultimate goal: a firmly entrenched, all-powerful federal government that controls every aspect of people's lives.

Listening to Beck this past year has convinced me that he senses he has been chosen by a Higher Power to lead the charge against the evildoers in government. If so, it's not the first time God has surprised the world with his choice of a messenger.

The fact of the warning means it is not too late to change.

The world, if it had any shame, would get together and remove that government from the face of the Earth and reunite north and south under the South Korean government. It is not at all clear which side will prevail. The forces of big government are entrenched and enjoy the full arsenal of the administration's money and influence. Our leaders in Washington, aided by the unprecedented economic crisis of recent years and the panic it induced, have seized the moment to introduce breathtaking expansions of state power in huge swaths of the economy, from the health-care takeover to the financial regulatory bill that the Senate approved Thursday. If these forces continue to prevail, America will cease to be a free enterprise nation.

Seriously People, Get the Message

Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, and it will continue to do so despite the best efforts of the die-hard true believers in the Obama administration and the rest of the world. The most recent example of this failure: Euro-Socialism is presently bankrupting the countries that embraced it in Europe. This will result not only in more social and economic upheaval, but also the ultimate demise of the ill-conceived European Union.

The original and current proponents of socialism fail to take into account one very basic but immutable factor: the fundamental nature of the human race.

Oh, it's never worked before, in fact it's probably killed more people in a shorter period of time than any other system, but it will work if we just make it bigger and more powerful. Now I get it.

How can you expect anything good to come from people who's playbook - Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky - is dedicated to "the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer."

Lucifer did not win his own kingdom, he had already been given charge of it (Earth). His rebellion was to gain more and it failed miserably. He is a liar and a murderer. He will soon lose the kingdom he now has and he knows it.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, said Wednesday that if Israel attacked Iran it would be destroyed within a week.

Face it, no matter what we do or don't do, there are going to be a lot of people out there that will never like America. If they are not going to like us, hopefully we behave in such a way that they at least respect us. For those that will never like us or respect us, they need to fear us. They need to know that if they mess with us they will pay a price.

That may not be the way you want the world to be but that is the reality. Obama gets 3 strikes on this. He wants everyone to like us but it is stunningly clear that that will not happen. In fact, it is apparent that even less people respect America anymore. Anti-Americanism is on the rise worldwide. And sadly, those that don't like us or respect us also do not fear us. They are laughing at us.

Of Rats and Men

While claiming a separation of church and state - which does not exist in the U.S. Constitution, it is a communist idea - they claim that government confiscation of your funds - also know as taxation - and redistributing it to others is somehow biblical. Social justice. It is not.

All such giving in the Bible - including the tithe - is 100% voluntary. There was no IRS in ancient Israel. It is between you and God, it's a personal thing. If God wanted to force you to be generous He would have given you instinct. Humans have free will, and we are meant to exercise free will in a free society for our spiritual growth. Don't ever choose to put yourself under the unfettered control of a government, king, or dictator. Not even to save the Earth.

As for separation of church and state, the U.S. Constitution, Amendment 1 states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The U.S. government is supposed to be religiously neutral, not rabidly anti-Christian. The U.S. government can't control religion and neither can it put up a wall to keep Christians out of the public discourse. And the U.S. government cannot become the religion and in a Socialist/Marxist/Communist state, the government IS the religion. In Islam, the religion is the government. Neither are compatible with the U.S. Constitution.

Scientists accuse Obama over oil spill

Tensions between the Obama administration and the scientific community over the gulf oil spill are escalating, with prominent oceanographers accusing the government of failing to conduct an adequate scientific analysis of the damage and of allowing BP to obscure the spill's true scope.

The oil spill is not exactly hurting the Obama administrations agenda. If it hurts America, they are for it. Of course, they won't say that but actions speak louder than words.

They say they want alternative energy but there is no viable alternative to oil and what they want to do is make oil prohibitively expensive, which will kill the economy.

They are also against drilling in America, thus keeping us dependent on foreign oil, which is supplied by countries "unfriendly" to the American way of life and putting us in a position subservient to those who would like to see America's power diminished in a big way. They have a strangle-hold on our economy.

They say they are creating jobs but the jobs market is getting worse and everything they do further destroys job growth, thus killing the economy.

They are for redistributing wealth and lead you to believe that means from America's rich to America's poor, but what they don't tell you is they want to redistribute America's wealth through them - filling their pockets - to the rest of the world. Our poor are wealthy by the world's standards. This, too, will kill our economy.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

The U.S. State Dept brought up the new Arizona law as an example of U.S. human rights abuse - wait for it - to China.

Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.

He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person's immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.

The United States was represented by officials from the State Department, White House, the departments of Commerce, Justice, Homeland Security, Labor, the trade representative's office and the Internal Revenue Service.

So, per the new world order, China is the arbiter of human rights, and Iran is the arbiter of woman's rights.

Meanwhile, Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of Homeland Security and Eric Holder, the Attorney General of the United States, have not even read the new Arizona law. Watch Eric Holder here, Janet Napolitano here.

7-year-old girl killed in Detroit police raid

Aiyana Jones was shot and killed by police executing a search warrant as part of a homicide investigation,

Just today I was watching an episode of Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force, first time I'd seen it. It was interesting, they were after a fugitive from New Jersey who fled to Puerto Rico. They flew down, got with a task force in Puerto Rico and used local informants to smoke the guy out. Turns out he was staying in a house in Cuamo, so they got ready and waited for the informant to call and verify he was there.

The call came at night, and it was deep in the country. It was dark. They start surrounding the house with all the flashlights and camera lights - how they didn't wake anyone up is beyond me - and they start pounding on the door - "Open up, it's the police!" They are yelling in Spanish and English. A guy comes to the door, they're all pointing rifles and pistols at the guy, lights in his face. Oops, wrong house.

Ok, regroup. What happened? There are two other houses in the area that meet the description they were given. Let's roll! They surround the next house, same lights, same procedure. They show them standing next to windows with the flashlights on - and, of course the camera lights. You are aware, aren't you that a lot if not most houses in Puerto Rico don't have glass windows? The windows are large, venetian blind-like contraptions. So, anyway, no one, apparently, notices all the activity around the house. They start banging on the door and windows, "Open up, open up, it's the police!" Again, Spanish and English. Some people come to the door, guns and lights pointing at them. "Be careful, there are kids," one of the cops yells. Oopsie! Wrong house again. Sorry, sorry everyone.

They do this whole thing all over again at the third house and arrest the guy they were looking for. Success! Everybody go home, shows over.

What's wrong with this picture? Look, I'm all for getting the bad guys. They don't do nearly enough getting bad guys for my taste and they sure as hell don't do enough of keeping them off the streets when they do get them, but I think they need to rethink the way they execute these search warrants. You can't just go down the street trying all the houses until you hit the jack pot. And you can't shoot an innocent 7-year-old girl. It's not acceptable. How would you feel, what would you think, if they did that to you in the middle of the night? How long will it be until you are able to sleep through the night again? What if they shot your dog or your child? Sorry, not acceptable. Is it too much to ask to at least KNOW the fugitive is in the house, to KNOW you have the right house.

There has to be a better way.

But Saturday's failed terrorist bomb in the Times Square tourist hot spot has provided the authorities with a new argument for expanding a sometimes controversial security blanket of cameras, sensors and analytical software.

Surveillance cameras will not prevent crime, let alone a terrorist attack. I believe London has more cameras than any other city and it is not exactly what you might call crime free. The Big Brother concept does not work. Oh, sure, you'll get great videos for the news cycle that follows the attack, I'll give you that.

I always thought the most humane way to enforce our border would be a wall of fire. A wall of fire is highly visible, so no one could claim they didn’t see the border. You can’t climb a wall of fire, because flames are a plasma and don’t support people’s weight. Also, it would just be cool looking.

On drilling for oil:

I suggest we drill in the Grand Canyon. That way if we spill, it’s already in this big container so no big whoop.

A man identified as a US citizen of Pakistani origin was arrested in connection with an attempted car bombing in New York's Times Square, news media reported Tuesday.

MSNBC television identified the man as Shahzad Faisal, a Pakistani-American, and said he was arrested on Long Island, New York.

Not your average white guy, much to the disappointment of so-called "journalists."

If U.S. officials had followed up on a 1994 response plan for a major Gulf oil spill, it is possible that the spill could have been kept under control and far from land.

The problem: The federal government did not have a single fire boom on hand.

At federal officials' behest, the company began calling customers in other countries and asking if the U.S. government could borrow their fire booms for a few days,

Obama Administration Presses BP to Settle Oil Spill Cleanup Costs

BP vowed on Monday to pay "all necessary and appropriate clean-up costs" from the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as the Obama administration called on the energy giant to clarify how it plans to do so.

U.S. officials are pressing BP to explain how the company will cover what it's calling "legitimate and objectively verifiable" claims. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said reimbursement for individuals and state and federal government will be on the agenda when she and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar meet with BP's top executives in Washington later Monday.

Why not let BP put all of their resources and thinking into stopping the spill instead of worrying about explaining how they are going to pay for it? This is like sending the Marines into war having to worry about being prosecuted for causing an enemy combatant a bloody lip. We are all going to pay for this one way or the other anyway. Worry about that later. Hopefully, everyone qualified, no matter what company, is being asked for help and input into stopping and cleaning up the mess.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that the administration will put its "boot on the throat of BP" to ensure that they're doing "all that is necessary" to contain the oil spill and minimize harmful effects on the Gulf's fragile coastline.

"Boot on the throat of BP..." Something about that line bothers me coming from the U.S. government. They're easy on our enemies but very harsh with the rhetoric against Americans.

Now, to the facts. The Arizona law, SB 1070, merely makes a state crime what is already a federal crime. For example, the requirement that legal aliens carry their documentation on their person is already in federal law. All of the provisions of the law were crafted carefully to avoid any conflict with federal law. It specifically prohibits stopping anyone based solely on race or ethnicity. The Arizona law does not attempt to create any new immigration law; it simply gives state law enforcement agencies the power to enforce existing laws and arrest persons who are in the country unlawfully.

The federal government refuses to enforce the law.

The lie about border security was actually exposed on March 27 when Arizona rancher Rob Krentz was murdered by a Mexican drug smuggler whose tracks were followed back to the border. Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano had spoken only one day earlier in Arizona about the great progress in border security.

But the murder of Rob Krentz was only the last straw for Arizona citizens who have been under siege for a decade. No one in Arizona thinks the border is secure, and now that Arizona has served notice to the federal government about the condition of their borders, all America knows that ugly truth.

The truth about the dismal state of border security is a story that has been kept off the front pages – until Arizona said "enough!" That’s the real reason the amnesty lobby is so frantic and furious in its attack on the Arizona law. What the critics really want is for Americans to forget about the border-region chaos, forget about the drop houses, the kidnappings, the gang wars, the highway carnage.

But Arizona will not let us forget, and for that message, all American ought to be grateful.

The fundamental issue in the breakdown of law starts in the heart of the individual as we either conform to or reject the laws of God as given us through His creation and his revealed, written word. I always find it tragically humorous that the same religious, non-religious and anti-religious liberals who weep and gnash their teeth over enforcing immigration laws demand that we strictly adhere to the "law of the land" in allowing the slaughter of 50 million unborn children.

It's really not hypocrisy. They are simply amoral, without any moral foundation or frame of reference to base their beliefs, allowing them to engage in such double standards to serve their lawless purpose. Lawlessness breeds anarchy, which allows for tyranny to control both.

In 1849, Speaker of the House Robert Winthrop (direct descendent of colonial leader John Winthrop) stated:

… Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled, either by a power within them, or by a power without them; either by the Word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible, or by the bayonet. …
