Maybe They're Just That Dumb
Far from ushering in age of hope and change, Obama can be more rightly seen as the last stand of rigid ideologues who think they can make the world conform to their wishes rather than to its nature.

On Long Island, a man lit a firework that he mistook for a candle, and blew his hand off, police say.Was his name Curly Howard?
Despite the heightened expectation of widespread power and cable television failures, everyone from the president to local newscasters seem to expect the public to rely entirely on the Internet and their TVs for vital news and instructions.
None of the major cable or local news channels put emergency phone numbers or key radio station frequencies on their screens. The only phone-related instructions on the homepage of ready.gov is how to get monthly disaster-prep text messages. The Federal Emergency Management Agency told the public via Twitter to use texts and social media outlets to stay informed.
Wood said his attacker's reference to a warning likely pointed to graffiti he found painted on his car last week. The vandalism included the phrases "house trained republican faggot," "traitor," and "ur like a jew 4 hitler."Yet another case of violence fron the left.
Socialist French President François Hollande is unhappy with the "inequality" of education in his country. He thinks it's unfair that some children get schoolwork help from their parents at home while others don't. To address this perceived injustice, Hollande plans to ban all homework in French schools and force all students to complete their work at school. In typical socialist fashion, he wants to "foster educational equality" not by raising performance standards and increasing educational opportunities for everyone, but by punishing those children whose parents take an interest in their education and dare support them at home.Life is inherently unfair and there is nothing anyone can do to change that. What's next, lobotomies for anyone with a greater than average IQ? Restraints for people who are athletically gifted? Where does it end?
This latest education reform spectacle in France showcases the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of socialism. In the delusional view of leftist ideologues, good parents and stable families have no right to support their offspring's education. Their children must be prevented from unfairly getting any educational advantages over other students from "disadvantaged" households. However, parents who are derelict in their duties and fail to educate their children will be protected and rewarded by the state.
Alas, so much of contemporary liberalism depends on a kind of invincible ignorance.

Just one week before the media came to interview the boy, he was suspended from school for three days. The harsh action was taken after Deener fought back against a student who was harassing him during a separate incident. This is one of the reasons for school shootings, I'm sure of it. The kid is being bullied, he's supposed to tell a teacher. He does. The teacher does nothing. The kid continues to be bullied. The kid fights back, teacher suspends the kid for fighting. Kid comes back and continues to be bullied. Teachers do nothing.
"America's wealth comes from the efforts of people striving for success. Take away their incentive with badmouthing success and you take away the wealth that helps us take care of the needy,"
"I grew up in a socialist country and I have seen what that does to people. There is no hope, no freedom, no pride in achievement, The nation became poorer and poorer, and that's what I see happening here."The proof is out there, there is historical record. Venezuela is going down the rat hole as we speak and Europe is nearing the end of another failure cycle. Failure is the inevitable result of socialism.
"When you think you are safe is precisely when you're most vulnerable."Damn good movie.

So the Left’s it's-different-when-we-do-it card applies not just to unmanned drones on Waziristani villagers, but Mexican adolescents gunned down at a birthday party. Would it be too much to ask one of the Pulitzer-laden bores at the New York Times or the Emmy-garlanded chaps at the network news divisions to look into this? Oh, no, wait! Look, over there! The coolest president ever is doing a photo-op with Beyonce!
