US reassures N Korea's neighbours
The U.N. will have another closed door meeting and condemn North Korea once again if they test another nuclear weapon.
Rest assured. There's no need to fear, Obama-prompter is on his way to another meeting to soundly condemn all who dare hog the limelight and distract Obama from giving all our money to his friends. Yeah, that doesn't rhyme.

They Think We're Fools. Or Do They Know?
It Takes a Village of Idiots by Burt Prelutsky
I have always found it odd that whenever the producers of TV, movies and records, are accused of setting a bad example for the kids, they always insist that their product is simply entertainment and that entertainment in no way influences youthful behavior. If they really believed it, they’d have to be even stupider than they are.
It’s not just that they’re every bit as aware as the rest of us that advertisers spend billions of dollars a year advertising their merchandise in the media, but additional fortunes are spent on product placement in motion pictures targeted to young people. They also know that advertisers get into bidding wars for the services of a LeBron James.
But the real proof that these people are lying through their teeth when they tell you that the tube lacks the power to influence kids is to be found on their shelves and their walls. All you have to do is check out the various plaques and scrolls with which they adorn their offices. Let a TV show’s young star be seen buckling up when he gets in his car, and the producer is sure to be honored for promoting safe driving. When years ago, the Fonz was shown to have a library card, librarians all over the country saw the number of young readers spike overnight. The producers received a ton of commendations for promoting literacy.
To Laugh or To Cry?
We're spending trillions we don't have to create government programs to spend even more trillions we don't have.
Mark Steyn: Statism the only thing being stimulated
I don't want to give the impression that every job funded by the stimulus is a job coordinating the public awareness of programs for grant applications to coordinate the funding of public awareness coordination programs funded by the stimulus. SEVCA is also advertising for a "Job Readiness Program Coordinator." This is a job coordinating the program that gets people ready to get a job. For example, it occurred to me, after reading the ad, that I might like to be a "Job Readiness Program Coordinator." But am I ready for it? Increasing numbers of us are hopelessly unready for jobs. Ever since last November, many Americans have been ready for free health care, free day care, free college, free mortgages – and, once you get a taste for that, it's hardly surprising you're not ready for gainful employment. I only hope there are enough qualified "Job Readiness Program Coordinators" out there, and that they don't have to initiate a Job Readiness Program Coordinator Readiness Program. As the old novelty song once wondered, "Who Takes Care Of The Caretaker's Daughter While The Caretaker's Busy Taking Care?" Who coordinates programs for the Job Readiness Program Coordinator while the Job Readiness Program Coordinator's busy readying for his job? If you hum it, I'll put in for the stimulus funding.
What happened to Americans? We used to be independent and self-reliant, now we're just a bunch of whining babies who want mother government to take care of our every need, and at no cost to us.
You know what happens to whining babies in the jungle, don't you? No, they don't get raised by monkeys or wolves and live happily ever after. They get eaten.

A Hostile World
Here we have underlined for us the fact that we live in a world of deceit, and we are greatly pressured to conform to these things. --Ray Stedman, When Unbelief Is Right

Another Attack on Christianity
Home: No place for Bible study
A pastor and his wife from San Diego, Calif., claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned that they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home.
The couple, whose names are being withheld until a demand letter can be filed on their behalf, told their attorneys that a county government employee knocked on their door on Good Friday, asking a litany of questions about their Tuesday night Bible studies, which are attended by approximately 15 people.
"Do you have a regular weekly meeting in your home? Do you sing? Do you say 'amen'?" the official reportedly asked. "Do you say, 'Praise the Lord'?"
The pastor's wife answered yes.
She says she was then told, however, that she must stop holding "religious assemblies" until she and her husband obtain a Major Use Permit from the county, a permit that often involves traffic and environmental studies, compliance with parking and sidewalk regulations and costs that top tens of thousands of dollars.
Keep Dreaming!
"This is the toughest issue we will face," Obama declared in a 50-minute address at the National Archives where he said he had inherited a legal "mess" from the Bush administration that had hurt America's moral standing in the world.
"You ain't seen nothin' yet," to quote Bachman Turner Overdrive.
Guantanamo is the toughest issue he thinks we will face? It's not even the toughest issue we are facing. It shouldn't be an issue at all, just leave it alone. To say that Guantanamo is the reason for terrorist recruitment, as Obama did in his speech, is ridiculous and naive.

Freedom is Earned
The song is not my style, but he gets the point across.
Too bad we've done nothing to earn it, it's all but gone now.
Hat tip: Rich
What Danger? There isn't Any Danger.
Has Obama given up on halting Iran?
Kedar, who served in Military Intelligence for 25 years, said US President Barack Obama was "at peace" with the idea of a nuclear Iran.
"You can tell from how the Americans talk. Look at how [US special envoy] George Mitchell talks, or how Obama talks. I don't see them being pressured by this threat. They have shown no urgent desire to change this reality," he added.
"Obama has given up," Kedar said.
I don't think he ever considered halting them, there was nothing in his mind to give up. This is very unfortunate, indeed, for the entire world because Iran will use the weapons once they have them and it will not be pretty.
Iran's nuclear weapons program, uncovered by Democrats
Lest anyone think that these materials may have innocent uses, Mr. Morgenthau added that "we have consulted with top experts in the field from MIT and from private industry and from the CIA… Frankly, some of the people we've consulted are shocked by the sophistication of the equipment they're buying."
This is too dangerous to ignore.
The president is trying to vote "present" on this issue, but he looks to be missing in inaction.
This is just a distraction from his real interest - destroying the economy of the United States.
Priceless
First we're told, "You can't use paper bags, you're killing all the trees." Then, we switched to plastic bags, but "You can't use plastic bags, they hurt the environment." So, now we have this new fad, reusable grocery bags. They're supposed to be good for the environment - they're GREEN. Man, I hate that word. They ruined a perfectly good color, but I digress. Anyway, now they are telling us - wait for it - that Reusable grocery bags may cause food poisoning.
If you listen to these idiots you might as well kill yourself because just living hurts the environment in some way, you wouldn't be able to do anything if they had their way. Wait, don't kill yourself, that will release carbon. Maybe just have yourself frozen, but there are too many people. I know, just tell them to SHUT UP.

I Agree With Uncle Ted
They put way more energy into making sure you are defenseless than they do stopping criminals. They are complicit with evil. And God forbid you do have to defend yourself against a criminal, that's just the beginning. Now you have to defend yourself against the government.
Scientific Fairy Tale?
There is such a thing?
Komodo Dragons Kill With Venom, Researchers Find
Researchers have long thought that the Komodo dragon, native to Indonesia, kills via blood poisoning caused by the multiple strains of bacteria in the dragon's saliva.
But "that whole bacteria stuff has been a scientific fairy tale," said Bryan Fry, a venom researcher at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
History is replete with "Researchers have long thought..." references, but before the new discovery was accepted the fallen theory was usually taught as fact.
Oh, and this just in: Scientists Unveil Missing Link In Evolution
"This little creature is going to show us our connection with the rest of the mammals," he said.
"This is the one that connects us directly with them.
This is the 'one'. The Obama of the fossil world. Don't question it, there is no other possible explanation.

Flu prompts karaoke boom in Japan
Students from schools and colleges in Japan shut down over fears of swine flu have been flocking to karaoke clubs to fill their new-found free time.
They are not any safer at crowded karaoke clubs, and at least they would be learning at school.

GM bankruptcy plan eyes quick sale to gov't
General Motors Corp's (GM.N) plan for a bankruptcy filing involves a quick sale of the company's healthy assets to a new company initially owned by the U.S. government, a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.

Crying Woman Tricks Tourists Into Opening Motel Door
The crying and screaming woman was knocking on a hotel room door at the Super 8. The men inside looked out the peephole and saw a woman who looked liked she needed help. They opened the door to help and were robbed.
"She appeared to be crying and upset, so they opened the door," explained Lt. Darryl Braunskill, Orlando Police Department.
As soon as the door was open, two to three men rushed inside and robbed the victims at gunpoint.
It's way past time to get serious about putting a stop to criminal activity, instead of coddling the criminals.
Oh, and welcome to Orlando.

Timeless Wisdom.
Upstarts frequently usurp the highest places, while the truly great pine in obscurity. This is a riddle in providence whose solution will one day gladden the hearts of the upright; but it is so common a fact, that none of us should murmur if it should fall to our own lot. When our Lord was upon earth, although he is the Prince of the kings of the earth, yet he walked the footpath of weariness and service as the Servant of servants: what wonder is it if his followers, who are princes of the blood, should also be looked down upon as inferior and contemptible persons? The world is upside down, and therefore, the first are last and the last first. See how the servile sons of Satan lord it in the earth! What a high horse they ride! How they lift up their horn on high! Haman is in the court, while Mordecai sits in the gate; David wanders on the mountains, while Saul reigns in state; Elijah is complaining in the cave while Jezebel is boasting in the palace; yet who would wish to take the places of the proud rebels? and who, on the other hand, might not envy the despised saints? When the wheel turns, those who are lowest rise, and the highest sink. Patience, then, believer, eternity will right the wrongs of time. --Charles Spurgeon
Little Things Mean a Lot
Pentagon Briefings No Longer Quote the Bible
The Pentagon said Monday it no longer includes a Bible quote on the cover page of daily intelligence briefings it sends to the White House as was practice during the Bush administration.
Just an interesting little tidbit I came across.
Random Thoughts ...
from Frank J
So does Obama have an exit strategy for all this spending? I mean, does he even have a vague idea of how to get out of debt?
I know Bush was crazy with the spending, but that’s not really an excuse to airdrop gasoline on a wildfire.
So when does the American public start to conclude they shouldn’t have given the keys to the car to an eight-year-old?
If all the banks go out of business, how will we be able to tell the time and temperature while driving down the road?
I wonder if we can agree to inevitability of gay marriage in exchange that liberals agree to the inevitability of right to carry?
