By Choice

Time magazine has an article by Bob Geldof relating some time he spent with George Bush: Geldof and Bush: Diary From the Road

It concentrates mostly on Africa but has some interesting insights into President Bush and life as President of the United States. It's worth reading.

I pulled out the following paragraph because of a quote by the President - emphasized in bold.

Of course, it would be ridiculous to be the President of the U.S. and not change as a person or evolve in your understanding of the world. I suggest that his commitment to Africa has been revolutionary in its interest curve. "That's not true," he says. "In my second debate with Al Gore, I came out for debt cancellation and AIDS relief. I called AIDS a genocide. I felt and still do that it was unacceptable to stand by and let a generation be eradicated."

Of course he said that in relation to AIDS but what immediately came to my mind is that that is precisely what we have done with abortion in this country - and many other countries as well. We've let a generation, at least, be eradicated, not by disease or catastrophic accident, not even through ignorance, but by choice.

How sad.

Rooting Out Imperialist Languages

Venezuela seeks to root out English

President Hugo Chavez's government is taking its battle against U.S. "imperialism" into Venezuelans' vocabulary, urging state phone company workers to eschew English-language business and tech terms that have crept into the local vernacular.

Good idea, best to keep to your original language, Spa... - wait a minute, Spanish is the language of "imperialist" Spain, you know, that country that sailed to Venezuela many years ago, took over the country - what was it called then? - and gave the people a new language. If you're going to be consistent you better root out Spanish, too.

Better go back to the language of the Carib, Arawak, and the Chibcha.

Dying to Save Lives

Guns save lives

"Government may promise to protect us from criminals, but it cannot deliver on that promise. This was neatly summed up in book title a few years ago: "Dial 911 and Die." If you are the target of a crime, only one other person besides the criminal is sure to be on the scene: you. There is no good substitute for self-responsibility."

"If someone gets into your house, which would you rather have, a handgun or a telephone? You can call the police if you want, and they'll get there, and they'll take a picture of your dead body. But they can't get there in time to save your life. The first line of defense is you."

How many innocent people have to die to protect the rights of a criminal?

Ethanol policy threatens to starve the world

Across the globe, people are discovering it's a new contributor to world hunger. Led by the United States, governments are paying companies billions to make ethanol from corn and other crops. The result: these crops are diverted from the food supply, creating artificial shortages and higher prices.

Even record harvests haven't suppressed food prices. Instead, prices are soaring to all-time highs.

Big Government Knows Best

Government Continues to Declare Living Tennessee Woman Dead

Because of an eight-year-old error that attached her Social Security number to a dead woman in Florida, the Nashville resident has had to prove over and over again that she is, in fact, alive, WSMV-TV reports.

The government has assured her that they have deleted her death record, but on Wednesday she was hit with the problem again. The IRS once again rejected her electronic tax return, WSMV-TV reports.

According to a government audit, Social Security had to resurrect more than 23,000 people from the dead in two years,

By the time they get it straightened out she will be dead. "I'm sorry, our records indicate she is still alive, we'll have to investigate you for insurance fraud."

You want the government in charge of healthcare? If you absolutely, positively must have it screwed up, give it to the government. This is just a fact of life.

Limited government, please, like our Founding Fathers intended.

How NOT to Protect a Candidate

Police concerned about order to stop weapons screening at Obama rally

"Security details at Barack Obama's rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.

The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security."

"... the order -- apparently made by the U.S. Secret Service -- was meant to speed up the long lines outside and fill the arena's vacant seats before Obama came on."

Wow, hopefully that's just really bad decision making and not a deliberate act. I know what people are going to think about it either way, and that makes it an even worse decision.

'But, he added, the turnout of more than 17,000 people seemed to be a "friendly crowd."'

Oh, yeah, we rest assured.

The secret service denies the security measures were relaxed.

Media Bias and Double Standards

Media double standard on candidates

Presidential candidate A is accused of having a risky homosexual dalliance with someone he picks up in a bar, scoring powdered cocaine for his partner and crack cocaine for himself in an incident that allegedly occurred about nine years ago. The named alleged partner makes his charges public, agrees to a polygraph and files a lawsuit reiterating the charges and accusing the candidate of harassment and intimidation. The candidate refuses to deny the allegations.

Presidential candidate B is accused by unnamed sources of having a romantic interest in a female lobbyist in the same year. There are no specific allegations of sexual or drug-related incidents. Both the candidate and the lobbyist adamantly deny any untoward activity between them took place.

Yet, for the Big Media, there is no story involving presidential candidate A, but a raging mega-story involving candidate B.

I've been a newsman for 30 years. This is what we call a double standard as big, wide and deep as the Grand Canyon, which happens to be in candidate B's home state.

The Students are the Victims

'Revolution' one of the R's taught in Tucson

Romero's program has raised some eyebrows. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, who had a devil of a time even learning about the program's curriculum, has seen the program's texts (at last). He concludes they are steeped in leftist ideology and race-based resentment.

But the real horrors of Romero's program are closer to home.

In the past several weeks, messages have filtered out from teachers and other TUSD employees (some directed to Horne; others who have contacted me, following two previous columns on this subject) about what an officially recognized resentment-based program does to a high school.

In a word, it creates fear.

Teachers and counselors are being called before their school principals and even the district school board and accused of being racists. And with a cadre of self-acknowledged "progressive" political activists in the ethnic-studies department on the hunt, the race transgressors are multiplying.

One school counselor, who wrote to Horne, described an entire counseling department being decried as a racist after one of Romero's activists saw an "innocuous notation" on a draft paper drawn up from a department brain-storming session.

The ethnic-studies teacher "grossly misinterpreted" the notation to have racist meaning, the counselor said. The teacher wrote a letter to the parents of his students "telling them the school's counselors are racist" and encouraged his students to sign the letter.

"I can tell you that the weeks that followed were difficult ones for the counselors," the TUSD school counselor wrote.

"There were many tears. Most of us lost sleep. All of us experienced heightened levels of anxiety. Through no fault of our own, we were being perceived differently by our students and their parents."

This is nothing less than child abuse and is no different than Palestinians raising their children to hate Jews. It's the same spirit of hatred, only this is being taught in public schools right here in the United States. How is this allowed to go on? Is this the revolution that Obama wants to bring to this country - division, fear, intolerance and hatred? They like the same Marxist leaders.

Now is the time to put an end to this. Americans need to turn off the TV for a while and pay attention to what is going on. If this little revolution isn't kicked out of our schools you can be sure it will spread. If we're not going to close government schools it sure is time to do some serious house cleaning. Stand up for what is right or lose your country.

Alarmist!

So what would it take to alarm you?

"Sharia in Britain? Taxpayer-subsidized polygamy in Toronto? Yawn. Nothing to see here. True, if you'd suggested such things on Sept. 10, 2001, most Britons and Canadians would have said you were nuts. But a few years on and it doesn't seem such a big deal, and nor will the next concession, and the one after that. It's hard to deliver a wake-up call for a civilization so determined to smother the alarm clock in the soft fluffy pillow of multiculturalism and sleep in for another 10 years. The folks who call my book "alarmist" accept that the Western world is growing more Muslim (Canada's Muslim population has doubled in the last 10 years), but they deny that this population trend has any significant societal consequences. Sharia mortgages? Sure. Polygamy? Whatever. Honour killings? Well, okay, but only a few. The assumption that you can hop on the Sharia Express and just ride a couple of stops is one almighty leap of faith. More to the point, who are you relying on to "hold the line"? Influential figures like the Archbishop of Canterbury? The bureaucrats at Ontario Social Services? The Western world is not run by fellows noted for their line-holding: look at what they're conceding now and then try to figure out what they'll be conceding in five years' time."

"Gun Free" Zones

Frank at IMAO posts:

So why the "gun free" zones? I can see those making sense to someone if you only thought about it for one second.

(one second passes)

"Oh... but criminals don't follow laws. All that will mean is honest citizens will be defenseless. D'oh! I'm so stupid!" (slaps forhead)

Why don't people get this?

There's a scene in the movie "The Jerk" when Navin is being chased by a madman with a gun and he ducks into the carnival grounds, even though the sign says, "Carnival Personnel Only," and the madman stops at the sign and yells, "You're not carnival personnel! Hey, he's not carnival personnel!"

Why is that funny if not because it's completely ridiculous to think a madman trying to shoot someone is going to be stopped by a sign.

Joseph Farah talks about "The day socialism comes to America"

"Socialism is antithetical to human nature, yet it has great appeal to the human mind.

It's one of the great lies of all time – similar to the one told by the deceiver in the Garden of Eden. You can be like God! You can have it all right here on Earth. You can live in utopia, and you don't have to obey the laws of the universe to achieve it.

That's the essence of socialism. And it is finally seducing America as it has seduced much of the rest of the world over the last century."

Delusions of Grandeur

From Taylor Marsh, who bills herself as "The Antidote to Right Wing Talk":

Obama's Unhinged Fans Reveal a Dangerous Zealotry

Very interesting, be sure to click the link and read the entire post.

"I don't think people understand what's going on behind the scenes in this primary race. I've been on the front lines for a very long time. That I had the nerve to question Barack Obama's lack of specificity was one thing. That it revealed itself when he ducked out of the very first Democratic primary forum, then showed up at the very first health care forum completely clueless about health care, gave me an inkling of the story line to come and that has been playing out for months. That I took up Hillary's charge later on was yet another. But it really is that I won't be led around without knowing where I'm being taken that so infuriates the Obamabots.

The supporters of Hillary Clinton can't come close to what's being spread by Obama crazed fans. Anyone saying they are is uninformed, ignorant or not closely enough involved to know what's actually happening. I am. You're wrong.

The rhetorical assaults are one thing, the threats another, though we're prepared for that as well. But what these people say about the zealotry behind the Obama campaign is not only alarming, but dangerous to our democracy. It is akin to emails I've received over the years from the anti-abortionist zealots on their own personal political war path. The insanely reactive, accept no compromise, unhinged religious fervor of a movement that was not only destructive to women, but to our politics. It is the same unbending group think that leads people off cliffs. That's what I'm getting from Obama fans. It's something that is unhealthy, even destructive to the Democratic party."

Silver Spurs Rodeo

We took James to the Silver Spurs Rodeo Sunday. It was actually pretty good, he had a good time. I could see he was itching to fast-forward through some of it - he wanted to see the bull riding - but he was laughing and smiling through most of it. At one point they were throwing hats into the audience so James ran down to see if he could catch one. I didn't think he had a chance, so many people went down and he was standing behind an adult, but darn if he didn't catch one. A red Dodge Ram cap - made in China! Ergh! But he was so proud.

Why do we keep buying Chinese stuff? Every time I pick something up to buy it's made in China. And we keep hearing more and more about tainted food, toys - you name it. Now they are sending us insidious computer viruses in their electronics.

Again I ask, why do we keep buying Chinese? I wish Walmart would go back to buying all American products - and everybody else, too. At least give me a choice, put them both on the shelf and let me choose. I'm done with Chinese products.

Food for Thought

Old commies like new face

"So what's the takeaway? What does this mean to real Americans – the hundreds of millions of us who don't read the People's Weekly World?

It means Obama is more radical, more revolutionary, more socialist, more Communist in his worldview than even Hillary.

I know. I know. It would seem nearly an impossible challenge. But that's how this veteran Commie watcher sees it.

These guys don't make rash decisions. They don't jump on bandwagons. They make calculated and well-considered choices based on one thing – who comes closer to representing the highest ideals of the Communist Manifesto and Marxist-Leninism.

These are Stalinists, stuck in another era, unable to see the world as it really is because of their delusional pathology that leads them down the deadly, oppressive path of totalitarianism.

They looked hard into the faces of Hillary and Obama. They studied their records. They pored over their position papers. And they – the U.S. version of the Politburo – determined Barack Obama is their man."

The Roots of Liberalism

The Liberal Mind

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

* creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
* satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
* augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
* rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

The Wrong Thing for the Right Reason

Hearts of Darkness

But paternalism's centrally directed systems of subsidies failed to raise up submerged classes, and by the end of the twentieth century even many liberals, surveying the cultural wreckage left behind by the Great Society, had abandoned their faith in the welfare state.

Yet in one area, foreign aid, the paternalist spirit is far from dead. A new generation of economists and activists is calling for a "big push" in Africa to expand programs that in practice institutionalize poverty rather than end it. The Africrats' enthusiasm for the failed policies of the past threatens to turn a struggling continent into a permanent ghetto—and to block the progress of ideas that really can liberate Africa’s oppressed populations.

Barack Obama is among those who think handing out (other peoples) money is the answer.

Obama said. "It must be a priority of American foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water.

No. Not of American foreign policy. No. It must be a priority of all peoples of the world, who are able, to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water through private contributions and private charities - and not just by handing out food and money everywhere. Government = bureaucracy, inaction, waste and corruption. Look at the United Nations, look at FEMA.

I Want to be a Super Delegate!

Superdelegates get campaign cash

Many of the superdelegates who could well decide the Democratic presidential nominee have already been plied with campaign contributions by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a new study shows.

"While it would be unseemly for the candidates to hand out thousands of dollars to primary voters, or to the delegates pledged to represent the will of those voters, elected officials serving as superdelegates have received about $890,000 from Obama and Clinton in the form of campaign contributions over the last three years," the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics reported today.

Words fail. When you look up corruption in the dictionary this should be in there, maybe not the first or second spot, but definitely there.

¿¡RevoluciĆ³n!?

I told myself I was going to lay off on the political posts for a while - then I see this:

Nicaraguan leader calls Obama's campaign 'revolutionary'

President Daniel Ortega, who led the 1979 revolution in Nicaragua, says Barack Obama's presidential bid is a "revolutionary" phenomenon in the United States.

"It's not to say that there is already a revolution under way in the U.S. ... but yes, they are laying the foundations for a revolutionary change," the Sandinista leader said Wednesday night as he accepted an honorary doctorate from an engineering university.

Ortega led a Soviet-backed government that battled U.S.-supported Contra rebels before he lost power in a 1990 election. He returned to office last year via the ballot box.

America may need revolutionary change but it is only because it has grown so far from it's roots. America works best on the basis of its inception, taking it further in the socialist direction is precisely what will be its undoing. Unfortunately, socialism is easy and people like easy. It's a rough road that leads to freedom and glory.

From Thomas Sowell

Who Is "Fascist"?

The Fascists were completely against individualism in general and especially against individualism in a free market economy. Their agenda included minimum wage laws, government restrictions on profit-making, progressive taxation of capital, and "rigidly secular" schools.

Unlike the Communists, the Fascists did not seek government ownership of the means of production. They just wanted the government to call the shots as to how businesses would be run.

They were for "industrial policy," long before liberals coined that phrase in the United States.

Buy the book:

Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning

Those who put a high value on words may recoil at the title of Jonah Goldberg's new book, "Liberal Fascism." As a result, they may refuse to read it, which will be their loss -- and a major loss.

Those who value substance over words, however, will find in this book a wealth of challenging insights, backed up by thorough research and brilliant analysis.

From Ellis Washington

Detroit's demise is the triumph of liberalism

What is liberalism? Generally, it is the political philosophy that the Leviathan State has all the answers to the intractable problems that have plagued mankind – from war, famine, pestilence, taxes, poverty, health care to race/racism, employment, discrimination, housing, economics, crime, law, education and the environment. I, too, believe that government has some role in addressing these concerns, but liberalism contends that not only is government the answer, it is the only answer.

Yes, We Can!

Without the government.

My Sentiments Exactly

Confirmed: Obama is an unreconstructed liberal

I’m becoming bored with Obama. He’s a conventional liberal who happens to be a better salesman than the rest of them, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be any better in office than any other liberal. They all chip away at the free market while they weaken our standing in the world. They’re all infected with the same PC multi-culti claptrap and most of them never met a tax hike or government program that they didn’t like (except the military, which most of them hate and can’t wait to slash). Not interested.

Any policy difference between Hillary & Obama?

Charisma is fine and necessary to win elections these days but if that's all you got you're just an empty shell. If you're a hardcore liberal then he's your man, no doubt. But, if not, think about why you're voting for him.

I'm not impressed with any of our choices and I honestly don't know where my vote will go in November - it may default to McCain, but I won't like it. Nope.

Challenging the Masses

Bishop: Christians don't go to heaven

A bishop described as "one of the most formidable figures in the world of Christian thought" is now challenging the widely held belief that Christians go to heaven when they die.

Good. He should. And he's right about this.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus himself is quoted as saying, "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven." (John 3:13)

Don't believe what someone says, prove it for yourself. Prove all things, hold fast to the good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Read the Bible, become familiar with it, ask God to guide you to His truth and believe what you learn. That's the key. Believe. If you believe, you will do. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. (John 13:17)
Some good advice:

Let me quietly, earnestly, and solemnly warn my young friends especially that in the study of the Bible we need to disabuse our minds of all human interpretations, ever remembering that not what the Fathers thought, or the schoolmen taught, or the theologians held, is necessarily true: but what the Word itself declares. -- G. Campbell Morgan

And yes, it's true,

Wright says much of "traditional Christianity" has been influenced by pagan philosophies.

The Gollygamist Is Out

It would be hard to believe you could come up with a Barack Obama campaign song thinner in content than a Barack Obama campaign speech, but Mr. Wonder has apparently accomplished it. So Laura and I had a laugh over Stevie’s two-word lyric and moved on to discussing McCain and Romney and policies on this and that, at which point I observed that, on reflection, that Stevie Wonder song is actually quite a useful way to look at the campaigns. When a guy starts running for president, a few of us tend to hear the lyrics — what’s he saying about the war, abortion, taxes. But a lot more people respond to the tune — how he’s saying it.

Is Canada's Economy a Model for America?

This is very interesting and informative, and before you say it has no relevance to your life, think again. Good stuff here from Mark Steyn.

The second difference between our economies is that Canada’s is more protected. I was talking once to a guy from the Bay area who ran a gay bookstore, and he swore to me that he’d had it with President Bush and that he was going to move to Vancouver and reopen his bookstore there. I told him that would be illegal in Canada and he got very huffy and said indignantly, “What do you mean it’s illegal? It’s not illegal for a gay man to own a bookstore in Canada.” I said, “No, but it’s illegal for a foreigner to own a bookstore in Canada.” He could move to Canada, yes, but he’d have to get a government job handing out benefit checks. His face dropped, and I thought of pitching one of those soft-focus TV movie-of-the-week ideas to the Lifestyle Channel, telling the heartwarming story of a Berkeley gay couple who flee Bush’s regime to live their dream of running a gay bookstore in Vancouver, only to find that Canada has ways of discriminating against them that the homophobic fascists in the United States haven’t even begun to consider.

It's the Educational System, Stupid *

Thus ends Western Civilization

And FAILED, with a capital F, is the only way to grade our modern, top-down, command-and-control, politically correct, centralized government mis-education system.

Having failed children and parents for 20, 30, 40 years now, our very way of life is threatened as a result.

Please heed this warning: There is only one thing likely to fill the vacuum when it goes. It's called tyranny. You can call it other names – fascism, communism, socialism. They're all the same. They all mean people will be disempowered in favor of elites. After all, only the elites will be equipped intellectually to make the tough decisions.

That's the way it happens.

Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?

Human activities are not influencing the global climate in a perceptible way. Climate will continue to change, as it always has in the past, warming and cooling on different time scales and for different reasons, regardless of human action.

This is not to say that we don’t face a serious problem. But the problem is political. Because of the mistaken idea that governments can and must do something about climate, pressures are building that have the potential of distorting energy policies in a way that will severely damage national economies, decrease standards of living, and increase poverty. This misdirection of resources will adversely affect human health and welfare in industrialized nations, and even more in developing nations. Thus it could well lead to increased social tensions within nations and conflict between them.

Polar bears are not endangered!

As those who have been watching the "climate change" debate know, that term can mean anything. Proponents say climate change causes the ice caps to melt; causes massive hurricanes; causes milder hurricanes; causes massive rain fall; causes deserts; causes flooding; causes colder winters; causes milder winters; in short, climate change is an undefined theory that can mean anything its proponents find necessary to enforce their agenda. That is a very dangerous premise on which to try to function as a society.

Police Officer Shoots 2nd Suicide Bomber

Incredible footage of the moment paramedics realized he was the second bomber

One of the comments on that page:
The 2nd bomber was heard saying "I'd rather be water boarded"

Unreal!

Report: 1 in 4 Britons Think Winston Churchill Never Existed

Young Britons under 20 lack a basic historical education according to the survey results,

They are not alone. Never before have so many been so full of knowledge of so little importance. The internet age.

Kids aren't stupid, they just care about the wrong things, and the schools reinforce that.

This is a Real Headline

I didn't really want to post this but ... you're gonna laugh.

Crack found in man's buttocks

Police don't get paid enough, do they? If you use drugs, are you sure you know where it's been?

Life On Mars!

And they have a sense of humor

Here's another one.

Multiple wives will mean multiple benefits

Husbands with multiple wives have been given the go-ahead to claim extra welfare benefits

Even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal.

The outcome will chiefly benefit Muslim men with more than one wife, as is permitted under Islamic law. Ministers estimate that up to a thousand polygamous partnerships exist in Britain, although they admit there is no exact record.

Unbelievable.

Vile

Women 'tricked into suicide blasts'

Two women suicide bombers who have killed nearly 80 people in Baghdad were Down's Syndrome victims exploited by al Qaida.

One of the most despicable, vile, repugnant acts a human being could possibly do. And they think they do God a favor? We are being entirely too easy on these guys.

John McCain's Press Conference

Pat Campbell posted a video of John McCain's first press conference as President. Pretty funny.

Fossil Fuel?

Discovery backs theory oil not 'fossil fuel'

I don't know enough to say yeah or nay on this but the whole oil comes from dinosaur thing never really did make sense to me. That's a whole lot of dead animals for each deposit. Did you ever stop to think how much oil and how many deposits there are? How much oil would come from each animal? You're talking massive quantities here. They say plants and plankton, not just dinosaurs, but still.

And if you buried an animal in your backyard, what would happen to it? It would be eaten by bugs and micro-organisms and decay to dust, the bones taking the longest decay. Did they ever demonstrate how oil comes from that or is it just theory?

The following is from the World Book Encyclopedia, 1961, Vol. 14, pages 297-300, quoted on this website.

Organic Theory. No one really knows how petroleum was formed. Most scientists believe the organic theory. It says that petroleum was formed through millions of years in great oceans that covered many parts of the earth during prehistoric times. Tiny plants and animals lived in shallow water and along the coasts of seas, just as they do today. As these plants and animals died, their remains settled on the muddy bottoms of the oceans. Here, even smaller forms of life called bacteria caused them to decay.

Fine sand and mud, called sediments, drifted down over the plant and animal matter. As these sediments piled up, their great weight pressed them into hard, compact beds, or layers, of sedimentary rock. During this process, bacteria, heat, pressure, and perhaps other natural forces changed the plant and animal remains into oil and natural gas.

Tiny drops of oil and bubbles of gas moved from the mud beds in which they were formed into other sedimentary rocks, usually sandstone or limestone. These porous rocks contain pores, or small openings, through which the oil moved.

Through millions of years, layers of less porous sedimentary rock formed above the rock beds. This rock sealed the oil and gas into underground pools. Later, many of the ancient seas drained away through movements of the earth’s crust, and dry land appeared above the petroleum deposits.

I don't know how reliable that is, just found it in a search, but it agrees with what I've heard before. So, I think the fact is, they don't know. Bottom line. It may not come from dinosaurs after all.

Probably Not Accidental

Third undersea Internet cable cut in Mideast

An undersea cable carrying Internet traffic was cut off the Persian Gulf emirate of Dubai, officials said Friday, the third loss of a line carrying Internet and telephone traffic in three days.

Three cables in three days. Not sure why though, maybe just to see what happens.
