Evolution?

Neal Boortz asks

If you don't believe in evolution, can you explain to me why researchers have to come up with a new flu vaccine every year in order to handle each year's version of the flu bug? While you're at it you can explain how various bugs manage to evolve to the point where they are impervious to current antibiotics.

You actually answered your own question. It's still a flu bug. There is no doubt an almost unlimited genetic variability within a "kind" of creature. This is easily demonstrated by breeding programs of various animals such as dogs. By using genetic formulas you can intelligently manipulate various characteristics of a dog (or let nature take it's course). There are Chihuahuas and there are Great Danes, Bulldogs and Greyhounds, Sheepdogs and Poodles, but they all have one thing in common. They are all still dogs. This has been done with fish, birds, cats, mice, rats, cattle, horses, goats, and many more animals - and yes, viruses. There is tremendous variability within each type of animal, but no one has ever created another kind of animal because it can't be done.

I Don't Like This

Wal-Mart's China inventory to hit US$18b this year

I'm not sure what to do about it, but I don't like it. China is a dangerous country and it is no friend of the United States. Why do we insist on buying the rope that they would so love to hang us with? Communism is an absolute evil and a quick look at the history of China bears that out. They destroyed a cultural powerhouse and are rebuilding it into a war machine.

Some things are more important than the bottom line.

James Likes This

James would love to get his hands on this Godzilla. Godzilla received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has a new movie coming out and James wants that too.

"I'm here representing Godzilla. Unfortunately, he cannot speak English," he said. "We're very excited he is being honored in America."

You'd think he would have learned english by now - 50 years! He's got alot of fans here, too.

Hot Pursuit!

I had to deal with some loud drunks when I got to work tonight. They were nice enough, just loud and they didn't want to stay in their rooms. I don't know how they can go to work in the morning after getting that drunk, but they do. After dealing with them twice I saw a couple of police cars pull in and split up, one stayed at the front and the other drove towards the back. It crossed my mind that someone called the police because of these guys. I looked around but they were in the room.

Five minutes later I heard some tires screeching two doors down, that's not too unusual, but this time it didn't stop. Someone was going nuts with their car! I walked out the back door and went around the corner. One of the police cars was parked there and a policeman was standing outside the drivers door and another on the other side. I saw them looking in the direction of the screeching - dumbfounded - like they couldn't believe what they were seeing. The screeching moved out to the road and started heading our way. I watched as a black Ford double-cab pickup raced by the hotel and slid sideways around the corner at the light and disappeared from view, with a police car in hot pursuit. The two policeman looked at each other, got in the car and took off. Just then I noticed one of the drunk guys standing next to me. We looked at each other and I said, " I thought they were here for you. Now please go to bed." He did.

Half an hour later two police cars parked in the driveway and sat there for a while. I hope they got their man, but I will probably never find out what that was all about.

European Islam Shows It's Teeth

I was going to include this with the last post but Blogger would have none of it, so I had to wait. This is interesting because Europe is alot closer to the breaking point on this subject than we are in the United States. If it got to the point where some part or parts of your life were somehow changed or dictated by a growing Islamic presence, how would you react? I think we have a way to go yet before that is a real problem, but ... I wouldn't want to hear a call to prayer in my town ... and it's already happening in one town. There is alot going on in Europe that you're not getting from the news, after all, fighting in the NBA is far more exciting.

There is an anti-Muslim backlash in the making. Early indications are that the backlash may soon spread across the European Union. Already in Spain, Italy and France, nations who've seen their share of recent Muslim violence have had about enough. Germany, with seven million immigrant Muslims, many on social welfare, recently saw the National Democratic Party (NPD) win seats in the Saxony legislature, following the German regional elections last month. Much of the success that the NPD achieved in Saxony is the growing abhorrence toward the ever-increasing numbers of Muslims in Germany.

The vast majority of immigrant Muslims have no intention of assimilating into European society. They intend that Europeans adopt THEIR customs, THEIR beliefs, and THEIR RELIGION. Some naïve European liberals claim that the problem is inherent racism on the part of Europeans. They fail to realize that even if everyone in Europe were white and blond, yet 5% of that population desired to reshape the European Union into an Islamic state, Europe would be facing the same problem, the violence, the strife and terror perpetrated by Muslim jihadists.

The push of Islam into Western Europe is about to cause a severe clash with the indigenous peoples who have inhabited the European continent for several thousands of years. As the tide of Islamic immigration continues, almost unchecked in Europe, the Mullahs, the Imams, and other so-called "holy men," will demand more and more in the way of power. The Islamic threat to Europe will continue to "show its teeth." Europeans can expect more violence, more clashes of culture until they've finally had enough.

Long Faces in Rome

I found this interesting, written by someone living in Germany.

An amazing event occurred on October 29, 2004 in Rome. Representatives of all 25 nations of the European Union signed an agreement, which will establish a constitution for the multiple nations of the EU. As fireworks lit the evening sky in Rome, I witnessed no exuberance or any other type of excitement here in Germany.

It was actually a "ho-hum" day in Germany. Nobody paid any particular attention to the latest European Union event. In short, there was no enthusiasm or excitement at all, where I live. I asked several of my German neighbors if they were excited about the new EU Constitution, and they exhibited nothing but non-concern. The comments I heard were that the events in Rome, "were those things arranged by the French." So goes the "exciting" new constitution that if ratified, will constitute the law in Europe.

I did notice that absolutely no excitement what so ever was displayed by the many prime ministers, presidents, and other heads of state that attended the signing of the agreement in ROME. What I saw were many scowls, many looks of sorrow and many looks of desperation. I saw long faces in Rome, the look of little or no hope, the look of despair. Why? Why weren't the men and women present for this historical event jubilant, excited and forward-looking? After all, the European Union has crossed a critical threshold toward the final establishment of the UNITED STATES OF EUROPE. Or have they?

Today, Give Thanks to God

A Time for Thanksgiving

As you gather with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving, why not give some thought to what will happen to our nation if we fail to give thanks. Will this Thanksgiving really be a day of giving thanks in your home? On this Thanksgiving day, don't forget to include those blessings which we take so much for granted - our great nation, our freedoms, our safety, our troops that fight for our safety, our prosperity, our wealth, our health, our families and friends, and above all, God’s grace and mercy.

I'll be at sister-in-laws house today and "thankfully" I've got the night off.

Yesterday Irma dragged me to Sams to get a new TV. They all look so small in the store and she picked a 32 incher. The box wouldn't fit in the car - no surprise - I took the TV out and put it in the back seat with no small amount of trouble. Can you say heavy? And no good place to hold on. Anyway, we made it home and shoe-horned it onto the shelf. Let me just say - if you can afford it - get one of the new LCD TV's , they are much easier on the back. I'm half expecting our shelf to collapse under the weight of this thing.

Danger, Danger

Attempt to stop mandatory mental screening fails

Why isn't this nation in an uproar against mandatory mental screening?

The New Freedom Initiative recommends screening not only for children but eventually for every American.

You know they want to use this to promote treatment for ADD and adult ADD (and that's bad enough) but what happens when they decide that faith in God is a psychiatric condition that needs to be treated? The left is already there and would love to be able to do something like that. This legislation needs to be stopped ASAP.

Inmates Running the Asylum

Is Declaration of Independence unconstitutional?

This one is just beyond belief.

Attorneys for the Alliance Defense Fund filed suit Monday against the Cupertino Union School District for prohibiting a teacher from providing supplemental handouts to students about American history because the historical documents contain some references to God and religion.

Just what documents did Williams submit that were deemed unfit for the school's students?

"Excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, the diaries of George Washington and John Adams, the writings of William Penn, and various state constitutions," said the public-interest law firm representing Willliams.

There are no words for the idiocy that passes for intellectualism.

And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified. Fantasyland

Students Free to Thank Anybody, Except God

Maryland public school students are free to thank anyone they want while learning about the 17th century celebration of Thanksgiving — as long as it's not God.

And that is how it should be, administrators say.

The whole point of Thanksgiving is to thank God. How can you teach someone about Thanksgiving without mentioning God at all? You can pretend the Pilgrims didn't thank God, you can pretend the Holocaust didn't happen, you can pretend islam is a peaceful religion, you can pretend Arafat was a great leader, and you can pretend there is no God, but the TRUTH stands.

But what teachers don't mention when they describe the feast is that the Pilgrims not only thanked the Native Americans for their peaceful three-day indulgence, but repeatedly thanked God.

What's wrong with teaching the TRUTH about a subject, even if it does make you a little uncomfortable? I would rather know the truth than some fairy tale made up to make me feel better about myself or others. Way too many people live in fantasyland these days anyway. Wake up.

Did They Think of this All by Themselves?

Where have I heard this before? Is common sense coming to the E.U.? Somehow I doubt it.

European Union justice and interior ministers agreed Friday that new immigrants to the 25-nation bloc should be required to learn local languages, and to adhere to general "European values" that will guide them toward better integration.

"It's not like we are against immigration," Verdonk said. "If you want to live in the Netherlands, you have to adhere to our rules ... and learn our language."

I guess it's only racist when Americans say it. Every country has and abides by immigration laws. Yet somehow it's evil if the United States enforces it's laws.

A Tool of Domination

A 14 year old boy is sentenced to 85 lashes for breaking his Ramadan fast!

How appropriate. Learn the truth about islam.

Islam: A Tool of Domination

Do yourself, do your family, and do the world a favor - run as fast as you can from islam. Anything is an improvement, anything. It's not shameful to be deceived or to have been deceived, the whole world is deceived about the one true God, but it is shameful to not act on the truth that you know. The truth about islam is obvious now to all.

James Got Mail!

4 year olds don't get alot of mail, but they sure like to. James likes horses and getting mail so I got him a subscription to Horse Illustrated magazine and that helps but it just wasn't enough for him, so he took it into his own hands, called his Grandma, and asked her to send him a letter.

Well, today it paid off! He went down to the mailbox. First he asked the mailman if he left him any mail. Yup, sure did, it's in the mailbox. He opened the box and looked through the letters. "I got a letter!" Sure enough, he did. He opened it up to find a card, three "Air Heads" candies, and two packs of stickers - dinosaurs and Sponge Bob. He was so happy! I said, "Grandma must really love you." and his reply was a confident, "Yes, she does!"

Things People Eat

I saw artificial honey (sugar free) in the store today. Artificial honey? Why?

Artificial honey is the old synonym for invert sugar cream. In order to make a cream, starch sugar and starch syrup are accumulated in commercial made invert sugar.

Bee honey is an invert sugar formed by the enzyme invertase from nectar gathered by bees. Also bee honey consists basically of glucose and fructose. The honey bee's stomach emits an enzyme, invertase, that chemically breaks down the disaccharide sucrose into the two monosaccharides.

I'll take the real thing, thank you very much.

Take a kid fishing! Please. Fish taste good and they are good for you. Set up an aquarium and keep them as pets - they're wonderful. You can go on vacation and not have to worry about them too. Appreciate nature, don't worship it.

Linda Ronstadt? She hasn't got a clue!

"I worry that some people are entertained by the idea of this war. They don't know anything about the Iraqis, but they're angry and frustrated in their own lives. It's like Germany, before Hitler took over. The economy was bad and people felt kicked around. They looked for a scapegoat. Now we've got a new bunch of Hitlers."

See. No clue. The United States is not like Germany before Hitler, no one is angry and frustrated (except liberals!) in their own lives - not the way she is talking about, the economy is nowhere near as bad as pre-WWII Germany, and socialists are not in power! The Nazi's were socialists, the National Socialist party. Nationalsozialismus. The Democrats are so much closer to the Nazi party than Republicans it's sickening. No clue at all.

The Arafat Legacy

Arafat's Greatest Scam

Yasser Arafat was born in Egypt in 1929. His name at birth was Rahman Abdul Rauf Al-Qudwa, Al-Husseini. He adopted the name Yasser Arafat as a "nom de guerre." His Uncle Amin was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during Hitler's time, and Uncle Amin was an invited guest to Berlin for consultations with Der Fuhrer in 1941. His visit was shortly before the famed Wannesee Conference in which the "Final Solution" for the destruction of European Jewry was formulated and carried out by top Nazis.

During Amin's visit to Berlin, he urged as many high ranking Nazis as he could find, to "immediately invade Palestine, so that the killing of Jews, as many as possible could, be carried out. Amin pledged the unwavering support of thousands of Arabs who would assist Hitler's Nazi butchers in accomplishing their grand task, and do it, "In the Name of Allah."

Yasser Arafat grew to adulthood, a convinced Nazi. To his death, he continued to hold Hitler in high esteem, and believed that National Socialism was the perfect form of government for the Arab world. Why not? National Socialism professes HATRED for the Jews, and promotes a "leader cult" so enjoyed by Arafat during the majority of his worthless life.

The lie that Yasser Arafat preached and lived was the lie of Palestinianism. Uncle Amin invented the notion that Arabs living between Jordan and the Mediterranean were somehow different that other Arabs. The entire reason behind the myth of Palestinianism was to rationalize the murder of Jews. That Yasser Arafat was able to convince an anti-Semitic world of this lie is understandable. It was a lie that today, continues to be accepted as truth through the partisan media that plagues much of the world.

The goal of the Palestinian Liberation Organization has been, and remains: "The slaughter of every Jew in Israel, driving them into the sea." I can hardly understand the world's "awe" over the passing of Yasser Arafat. It's mind boggling to me, that so much media coverage is being devoted to a mass killer artificially turned "hero."

Dog Update

The dog was not there all day yesterday and he is not there today so I assume animal control was able to get him without a trap. The note is still on the door of the house. I hope they can find him a good home.

Thursday, November 11, 2004

Here's the dog I wrote about this morning. The picture is terrible, my camera and I are not on speaking terms anymore and it refuses to work properly. You can see the damage the dog did by chewing the wood on the door. The trim around the doors should be all white. If I get any closer to the dog it will run off.

Home Alone

The house across the street from me was vacant for a long time. The bank took it back and eventually they fixed it up. Over the summer some people looked like they had started living there - I think. I saw them almost every day but I never saw them actually move in. I mean, I never saw a truck pull up and unload furniture. During the hurricanes they took no precautions at all to protect the house. None. That was strange because after the first one everybody boarded up. Some people are still boarded up to this day!

After the last hurricane I saw a couple of ladies cleaning up debris from the property and creating a pile at the road. I was doing the same and said hello. They seemed nice enough. The house received no damage from the storms and they were just cleaning up broken branches. After the hurricanes I didn't see them often but there were signs of life at the house, they even put out a Bush for president sign. All this time I never once saw any sign of a dog anywhere near that house. Never. I'm home all day and outside very often because James loves to be outside, so if a truck pulled up or if there was a dog I would notice.

Now I'm coming to the point of this post. About a 4 or 5 days ago I noticed a dog on the front porch. It was just laying there and it was there all day. I never saw the dog before. It was not tied up and it would walk around a bit but mostly it stayed on the porch. It's a medium sized dog, tan and looks to be part pit bull. It has that head shape.

The next day it was still there. James noticed it and I made sure to warn him about going near the street. The dog wasn't being aggressive but you never know. I put out the garbage Monday morning and when I turned around I saw it walking across the street towards me. I turned to face it and it cowered and walked back to the neighbors property. Later that night I saw our spot lights turn on in the driveway and looked out to see the dog near our front porch. I opened the door and it ran back to the other house. Now I was starting to get worried about this dog. No one has been around that house for days now. What was it eating? Who's was it? Why was it staying in front of that house?

It was there the next day too. I kept expecting someone to come home to it but no. I decided I would call animal control if it was still there Wednesday. Guess what, it was still there. I called animal control and told them the situation. They sent someone out within the hour. I walked over to talk to the guy and let him know what I knew. We noticed the dog had been chewing on the wood around the front door and porch, like he was trying to get in. It was a mess. When the truck pulled up the dog initially walked towards it in anticipation but when the guy got out it walked away. He couldn't get near it. It eventually ran down the street. Nobody was home, like I thought and he left a notice on the door. He also asked if he could set a trap on my property and I told him no problem.

He drove the truck down the road to find the dog and I saw it go under the fence and run across the pasture. Next thing I know it popped up at the house again. I told him where it was and drove off to pick up Joshua. It was still there when I got home and it was there when I left for work. And no one is home. I took a picture of the dog and I will post it when I get home. I can't help wondering why it is so determined to stay on that porch? Why does it want to get in the house? I never saw it before, could it have been there all along and I never saw it, perhaps they kept it out back? Did they move away and just leave the dog? Or maybe the owner is inside and passed away? There is no car out front. I hope I can find out what's going on and I hope the dog gets the help it needs.

My Obligatory "Arafat Is Dead" Post

I have no problem with that. Don't look for things to get better, though, there is a spirit of hatred among the Palestinians that will not go away. Somehow, Israel will be blamed.

20 Reasons

Here are 20 reasons why you shouldn't post your picture on the internet.

Arafat Going to Heaven?

Arafat going to heaven?

At the president's news conference, when the Washington Times informed him of the story that AP later had to retract about Arafat's death, the president said, quote, "God bless his soul." And my question: Did the president mean to say, "God cleanse his soul"? Or is the president a universalist in believing that everybody goes to Heaven?

That's something people say to be respectful of the dead. What does it have to do with going to heaven? He was being respectful, what was he supposed to say, "Good riddens, the old bastard is finally dead?" Whether the president said "bless" or "cleanse" or whatever has no bearing on the fate of Yasser Arafat.

As for going to heaven:

And no one has ascended up to Heaven except He who came down from Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven. John 3:13

No, he's not going to heaven when he dies - no one is.

For the living know that they shall die; but the dead do not know anything, nor do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten. Ecc 9:5

What then, if not heaven?

But I confess this to you, that after the Way which they call heresy, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things that are written in the Law and in the Prophets.

And I have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. Acts 24:14-15

Why a resurrection?

And I saw the dead, the small and the great, stand before God. And books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead in them. And each one of them was judged according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.

And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire. Rev 20:12-15

All people are given the opportunity to know God after the resurrection of the dead. All people, no matter the situation they've known in this lifetime. No one is left behind - except by their own choice. That's freedom of choice. That's a beautiful thing.

Premature Celebration

I understand the sentiment but she really is a little premature on the celebration.

"I feel like we've finally got our country back," a lady told my wife the morning after John Kerry conceded.

It will take a lot more than one election to straighten out the mess we've made of this country.

Now, end the judicial dictatorship

She Cried

A BBC correspondant cried when Yasser Arafat's helicopter took him from his terrorist headquarters.

In her report, Plett said: "When the helicopter carrying the frail old man rose above his ruined compound, I started to cry . . . without warning."

You gotta be kidding me! Probably the most successful terrorist alive and she cries over him. Wow.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to Irma! Actually it was yesterday but I wasn't online. We went to her mothers house and had cake. Her cousin was there from Puerto Rico with a cute little year old+ boy (Gregory) and James had fun playing with him. I got her a gorgeous citrine ring (that she picked out).

Irma got a flat tire Saturday night and I had to go rescue her. She was stuck on Interstate 4 about 45 minutes away. Yes, we have AAA but it takes longer to wait on them. Sometimes I wish she would stay home. That was one of those nights. All told, we had a great weekend. The weather has cooled down and it is beautiful.

I'd Hate To Be The Pilot Of This F16

Jet Strafes N.J. School With Ammunition

What was he thinking?

Congolese Super-Gorillas

Top-secret military experiment gone horribly wrong: King Congo: Super-gorillas spotted in Africa

They are 2,2m tall, weigh more than 90kg and are fond of lion for breakfast. They make their home in the darkest reaches of the Congolese jungle and hunt in packs, silently stalking their prey for hours, then breaking cover and overcoming the terrified creature before it has a chance to flee.

Umm. Excuse me. Lions don't live in the jungle. If these creatures live in the darkest reaches of the Congolese jungle, how do they get the lions?

Lions do not live in heavy forests and jungles and they do not inhabit desert areas due to a scarcity of game.

Perhaps they have them FedExed from the nearest savannah.

Apparently, they do have a discriminating palette. Says primatologist Shelly Williams:

"We could hear them in the trees, about 10m away, and four suddenly came rushing through the brush towards me. If this had been a mock charge they would have been screaming to intimidate us. These guys were quiet, and they were huge. They were coming in for the kill - but as soon as they saw my face they stopped and disappeared."

Or perhaps she's just very, very ugly. I don't know.

If, as they say, only eight have been seen by scientists (if a scientist hasn't seen it, it doesn't exist), and none captured,

At present, only eight of these fascinating creatures have been seen by scientists, and none has been captured for study.

Then why are they worried about them being hunted to extinction?

It would be a tragic irony if these creatures, so new to science, are hunted to extinction before they are properly studied.

Wouldn't they be happy if someone killed one and gave it to them? Don't they do that to every other creature they study? I guess they don't have a big enough jar to put it in.

Unhappy Democrats Need to Wait to Get Into Canada

I don't care if they want to go to Canada, let them go, what struck me is this:

"You just can't come into Canada and say 'I'm going to stay here'. In other words, there has to be an application. There has to be a reason why the person is coming to Canada," said immigration ministry spokeswoman Maria Iadinardi.

There is one way we could be more like Canada.

Kerry Disconnected From Reality

Iran's threats discredit Kerry nuke policy

Shouting "Death to America," and "Death to Israel," Iranian lawmakers decided unanimously Sunday to back the outline of a bill that would require the Islamic government to resume uranium enrichment.

Oh yeah, they only want nuclear power for peaceful purposes. Hey, why don't we sell them uranium?

On the eve of the U.S. presidential election, Sen. John Kerry's campaign continues to advocate normalizing relations and providing nuclear fuel to Tehran's radical mullah-led regime despite the Iranian parliament's defiant, anti-American vote to proceed with uranium enrichment, a key process in development of atomic weapons.

Sorry, looks like Kerry already has that idea!

Bush's War?

"Must read" editorial by Ron Dart: A Brutal War

I have taken some heat from a few people for what they perceive as my support for "Bush’s war." I replied that it is not his war, it is ours and the stakes are huge. If we are afraid of casualties today, ours and theirs, we may miss a chance that will never come again. Lest you think that what I am telling you can’t come true, it already has.

Because we showed weakness before. Because we cut and ran after the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon. Because we cut and ran after Somalia. Because we didn’t act after the bombing of the USS Cole, because we didn’t act after the bombing of American embassies in africa, because we didn’t act after the first Bombing of the World trade center, because we didn’t kill Osama Bin Laden when we had the chance and knew who he was, we got the tragedy we now call, 9/11.

Like Saul of old, we didn’t have the stomach to kill Agag, and we have ended up having to kill thousands, and it will probably get worse before it gets better.

Quote of the day:

Christians need to dismiss the god of their imaginations, and embrace the real thing.

The Big "If"

Osama Bin Laden Tape Threatens U.S. States Not to Vote for Bush

The Islamist website Al-Qal'a explained what this sentence meant: "This message was a warning to every U.S. state separately. When he [Osama Bin Laden] said, 'Every state will be determining its own security, and will be responsible for its choice,' it means that any U.S. state that will choose to vote for the white thug Bush as president has chosen to fight us, and we will consider it our enemy, and any state that will vote against Bush has chosen to make peace with us, and we will not characterize it as an enemy. By this characterization, Sheikh Osama wants to drive a wedge in the American body, to weaken it, and he wants to divide the American people itself between enemies of Islam and the Muslims, and those who fight for us, so that he doesn't treat all American people as if they're the same.

How do you vote for Kerry after that? Every American must stand together and vote for Bush! If America must go down, let it go down fighting and not slouching away with it's tail between it's legs. We must be united against our common enemy, defeat them now! Bicker later! I can't believe this is the United States of America with all its history of bravery and standing up for truth, justice and the American way. You just throw that away and vote for someone who should have been (and would have been during and before WWII) convicted of treason against this country? President?!

The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.  He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. Deuteronomy 28:43-44

It doesn't have to be that way.

The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. Deuteronomy 28:12-13

If only.

Hold On A Minute,

Bill Whittle has A Final Thought Before The Show. Well done, as usual.

President Bush has already done much to re-program our mortal enemies assumptions about our determination to finish what we start, no matter the cost. Three dangerous enemies have fallen during his watch -- Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. The first two were predicted to cause American streets to run red with blood as the Jihadists took their vengeance upon us. In the three years since 9/11, there have been no terrorist attacks on this country. That is a record to be proud of, and one that deserves the reward of my vote, at least.

I want to finish this fight, now. I don't think our children should have to worry about this five or ten or twenty years from now, when Iran or North Korea has had a chance to spread some nuclear largesse around. I believe a badly wounded enemy is more dangerous than a dead one. I want this fight to be over so that the country can afford to elect someone who panders to everyone and speaks French and can undo all this animosity from Europe with a few well-placed toasts and a conciliatory speech at the UN. The time for that is when this thing is over.

The Empty Throne

A picture worth a thousand words. I believe that says it all.
