You Know ...
He's right.
Those who mightily encourage others to stand in the thick of the fray, but do nothing to equip them for the battle, may intend to be friends, but in fact, without meaning to, they leave them naked to their enemies.
Truth in Advertising
City rejects 'In God We Trust' logo
I heard this on the radio this morning and I couldn't believe my ears. Not because they rejected the logo, but because Commissioner Cheryl Grieb said:
"The city of Kissimmee doesn't want to be seen as anti-anything,"
Really? You can't think of anything, off the top of your head, you would want to be against? You are not willing to take a stand on anything?
It's thinking like that that allows a free republic to become a socialist state.
Code Blue!
How Canada care nearly killed my kid by Ilana Mercer
When the Code-Blue alarm sounded over the hospital's loudspeaker system, my husband and I knew it sounded for our daughter. It was 11 p.m. The hallways of the British Columbia hospital were dark. Only one emergency operating theatre was in use. She was in it. The skeletal staff came running. Resuscitation carts were rushed toward the theatre.
My own heart nearly stopped, because she is my heart.
This is a must read.

Venezuela: 'Freedom of expression must be limited'
Venezuela's top prosecutor insisted Thursday that freedom of expression in Venezuela "must be limited" and proposed legislation that would slap additional restrictions on the country's news media.
The new law would punish the owners of radio stations, television channels and newspapers that have attempted to "cause panic" and "disturb social peace," Attorney General Luisa Ortega said.
It also would punish media owners who "manipulate the news with the purpose of transmitting a false perception of the facts."
"Freedom of expression must be limited," Ortega said.
And Chavez says ...
Chavez denies that he intends to silence critics, saying his government fully respects freedom of expression

Change That's Unbelievable!
Who Gets Swine Flu Vaccine Before You Do
After wrestling with which groups should get priority, the committee ultimately decided by a vote of 13 to 1 to give immunization priority to a group including pregnant women, those who care for infants under six months of age, health care and EMS workers, children and teenagers between ages 6 months and 18 years old, and anyone under the age of 64 underlying medical conditions.
Senior citizens will also have to wait behind 19 to 24 year olds, who often get sick in large numbers at college, but don't tend to get deathly ill.
The new paradigm is the elderly are are a burden on the "great society", they are collecting social security and their medical bills are higher. They contribute nothing, their usefulness to the "great society" is over.
This is the future of health care in America. Health care by committee - the future is now.
Just Saw This on the News
95% of you got a tax cut. You may not have noticed it. --President Obama
Promise fulfilled, now bend over cause health care reform and saving the Earth ain't paying for itself.
I'll post a video as soon as I find one.
Culture of Corruption
I don't think we understand the magnitude of the corruption that has crept into our government and our institutions over the years. The United States government is now openly on the side of a socialist dictator wannabee in Honduras, we're hand in hand with Castro and Chavez. Our news media continues to support the false contention that it was a illegal coo that overthrew Zelaya. The United States is officially against freedom now.
The American people may be slowly waking up to the nightmare scenario they have voted themselves into, but it may just be too little, too late.
Repent and seek God is what the American people must do but until they can stop laughing at the very idea things will continue to worsen. Brace yourself.
I R 2 Smart
Why All the Smart People Say Obama Is a Great President
We have a lot of problems in this country. Much of that is because the previous president was a violent moron who could barely even function in polite society; he probably tried to bomb the economy when he felt it threaten him. He also liked it when children went without necessary medical attention because that made him laugh.
Luckily, before President Bush could kill us all, President Obama came to save us. All the smart people instantly recognized him as a genius and a savior, but Obama also had the wisdom to use simple phrases like “Yes we can!” that stupid people like you could also understand. Assuaged by those words, you dimwits loosened your grips on your guns and religion, and Obama became president. It seemed soon all our problems would be solved with no interference, but it was not to be so.
I've Got Your Proof Right Here!
Congress voted 378 to 0 that Obama is a U.S. citizen, so, it must be true. Congress is never wrong and can be trusted 100%.
But, IMAO found the original birth certificate and now you can view it right here.

The Halloween President
A Post-Racial President? by Thomas Sowell
An 18th century philosopher said, "When I speak I put on a mask. When I act I am forced to take it off." Barack Obama's mask slipped for a moment last week but he quickly recovered, with the help of the media. But we should never forget what we saw.
If You Have to Fight, Do It Right
Some folks say the most dangerous place in the world is between a Mama Bear and her cubs. It may be so. I've never met a Mama Bear, myself.
The most dangerous place I ever stood was between a cornered cat and an open door.
When a cat feels threatened, she gets away from the danger as quickly as she can. She doesn't care what damage she inflicts on her way to safety, but she's not interested in fighting for fighting's sake. She does only as much as she needs to do in order to escape. She doesn't deal in revenge. If she feels threatened, she simply leaves. Efficiently.
Until she needs to use them, her claws stay sheathed. She doesn't go around threatening to maul people. She's cuddly, she's cozy, she likes to curl up next to a crackling fire on a cold winter's day. She's great company.
But don't try to trap her in a bad situation.
This site is about women and guns, not about cats. But in a way, it's about the cornered cat in all of us. It's about the determination to get away from an attacker if you need to. It's about making the decision to say, "Not me. Not mine. Not today." And it's about the tools to make that decision stick.
If you have to fight ...
Fight like a cornered cat.

Gates caller says she didn’t cite race
The woman whose report of a possible house break-in led to the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. said she never mentioned race during her 911 call and is “personally devastated’’ by media accounts that suggest she placed the call because the men she observed on the porch were black,
Listen to the call here.
1. Mr. Gates should go the concerned neighbor and personally apologize and thank her for looking out for his house.
2. Mr. Gates and President Obama should personally apologize to officer Crowley and the Cambridge police department and police across the country.
3. In my opinion, this puts the lie to what Henry Gates and others black leaders have been teaching for years. It's time to put the race baiters out of business.
If Obama wants to be a leader and not a divider, he should lead in that.

Christian Executed in North Korea
North Korea Publicly Executes Christian Woman for Distributing Bible
North Korea publicly executed a Christian woman (Ri Hyon Ok, 33) last month for distributing the Bible, which is banned in the communist nation, South Korean activists said Friday.
"North Korea appears to have judged that Christian forces could pose a threat to its regime," Do Hee-youn, a leading activist, told reporters, claiming public executions, arrest and detention of North Koreans are prevalent.
Christian ideas are a threat to anyone seeking to oppress the people. That's why they are trying to deny or downplay all traces of God in the founding of the United States
It's Good to Be an American
Where, in most places, you are allowed to defend yourself and loved ones from violent criminals. Not in England. In England you have to cower fearfully in your home and hope they don't find you before the police can get there.
A businessman was held on suspicion of attempted murder after confronting a gang of youths who allegedly threatened to kill his wife and attacked his stepson outside their home.
How dare a government take away a man's God given right to self-defense?
"Any action taken by my husband was as a result of a desire to protect his family and loved ones, and to defend his property."
Don't let them do this to Americans. Support the Second Amendment.

Our Leaders are Delusional

As opposed to actual threats like say, Iran, North Korea, statism or militant Islamism. Yes, lets have a conversation with those who wish to destroy us and put all our energy into fighting a ghost.

Truth is Liberating
The flat-earth myth and creationism
The story that Christians believed in a flat earth until Columbus’ time, and for some time thereafter, began as part of a fictional story that was elevated to historical fact by late 19th-century Darwinists who used it primarily as a means to ridicule Christians.
Shock and surprise.
In fact, those who opposed Columbus not only knew the earth was a sphere, but also had a good idea of how large it was—and this was the major reason why they opposed Columbus. Columbus and his men were not afraid of falling off the earth as Irving claimed, but of travelling so far from land in an unknown part of the world. They did not know the American continent existed, and, for this reason, Columbus’ critics correctly believed that a voyage to the Far East would take far too long and cost way too much. Unfortunately, Irving used many facts from reputable references to make his fictional account appear well supported, and, as a result, ‘the public was fooled into taking his literary game as history.’ A careful reading of Irving makes it clear that his ‘history’ was deliberately designed to make Christianity appear prejudiced, dogmatic and ignorant, and to make scientists appear as objective persons who were carefully weighing the facts and who, in the end, were correct. As Morrison correctly concluded, Irving’s account is ‘mischievous nonsense … . The sphericity of the globe was not in question. The issue was the width of the ocean,’ and on this question Columbus’ opposition was correct.
That makes so much more sense than what is commonly taught. Why do we insist on thinking our modern generations are so much smarter than previous generations? The evidence seems to point in the opposite direction or that they were at least as smart as we are. We have a larger body of knowledge now but we are far from superior in knowing how to use it.

Another Point of View
Mark Steyn: Obama knows 'stupidly' when he doesn't see it
By common consent, the most memorable moment of Barack Obama's otherwise listless press conference on "health care" were his robust remarks on the "racist" incident involving professor Henry Louis Gates and the Cambridge police. The latter "acted stupidly," pronounced the chief of state. The president of the United States may be reluctant to condemn Ayatollah Khamenei or Hugo Chávez or that guy in Honduras without examining all the nuances and footnotes, but sometimes there are outrages so heinous that even the famously nuanced must step up to the plate and speak truth to power. And thank God the leader of the free world had the guts to stand up and speak truth to municipal police Sgt. James Crowley.
No Apology
I just saw Obama backtrack on his "acted stupidly" comment and stop short of an apology. He needs to man up.
The Statists are Here!
Obama to America: 'Who's your daddy?'
"Have you ever considered the possibility that the reason they are seeking that degree of control is that – like others before them – they're simply evil?" I asked.
After all, despots and tyrannical governments have never come along and said: "Hi, I'm evil. Would you mind putting the future and fortunes of yourself and your posterity into my hands? Thank you very much." Typically, they devise a manner by which they might acquire the power desired before they manifest their true intentions. More often than not it is in the form of a real smoothie who represents himself as something wholly other than what he is.
It's not just Obama, he's just the 'slick' figurehead. Statism, Marxism, Fascism, Communism - all have been epic failures every time they are implemented. They are the enemy of freedom and therefore the enemy of America. They are anti-American and anyone who espouses those philosophies are necessarily anti-American. Oil and water don't mix.

Obama Owes the Police an Apology
Obama says the police acted stupidly in the case of Henry Gates. He said this before he even knew the facts of the case. I contend that not only has Henry Gates acted stupidly, but Obama has as well. Mr. Gates is the one who over reacted to something that could have happened to anyone. I've been in a similar situation myself and while it was a bit annoying, it's no reason to act like an ASS. Henry Gates is an ass. Obama is also an ass for saying what he did. He should not have said anything until he knew the facts. The police have a job to do and they should never let some ASS shouting racial accusations keep them from doing their job. And the president should back the police officers unless it becomes obvious there has been a stepping over the line. Yeah, that happens, but it does not appear to be the case here. Here's the police report. Obama needs to apologize to the officers and America.
The Logical Bible
The Creation According to Atheists
Atheists are often an unfairly feared and scorned group. Many people tend to look upon them with disdain just because they have doubts about theology and like to go on TV and scream about how the majority of Americans are stupid for believing in God. This has led many religious people to have negative misconceptions about atheists, thinking among other things that they are followers of Satan.
That’s ridiculous. Atheists don’t worship Satan. They worship Athor, rational god of logic, who cherishes all that is logical and smites all that is illogical, such as religion. His worshipers leave him gifts of logic, like Sudoku puzzles, at his altar so that Athor might bestow upon them rational thought and they can better spot ideas that are stupid and worth mocking. This leads to the greatest gift Athor has to offer his followers: a feeling of superiority.
This is a good one.
Come and See the Violence Inherent in the System
Prof rages at "racist" cops
Gates was already inside the house when police arrived but initially refused to identify himself, cops said.
This could have been real simple.
Gates: Hi, I'm Henry Gates, this is my house, I locked myself out, here's my identification.
Police: Sorry to trouble you sir, have a nice day.
"They did not believe him when he said that he was in his own home. He was totally mistreated,"
So, police should just believe everything they're told when they are investigating a possible crime? Because criminals will always tell the truth, won't they? "No, I don't live here, you got me, I was stealing."
When Gates was asked to step out on the front porch and talk, he allegedly responded, "No, I will not!" and, "I'll speak with your mama outside!"
When the cop explained he was investigating a break-in, Gates snarled, "Why, because I'm a black man?" the report claims.
Gates finally produced a Harvard ID.
As police started to leave, "Gates began to yell . . . accusing me of being a racist," one officer said in the report.
Gates eventually came outside, where the shouting continued in front of witnesses.
Then Gates -- ranting, yelling and "alarming" passers-by with his "outburst" -- was arrested, cops said.
His bad attitude is what got him arrested. The police were leaving after they saw his ID. He was acting like an ass, plain and simple. If the police thought he had broken into someones house he would have been on the ground at gunpoint, not taunting them while they were trying to ask some questions. They were called about a possible break-in, they have to know for sure before they leave, it's their job.
Truth, Smuth. It's the Sentiment that Counts
Mr. President, we have a problem
"I should note, just personally, I grew up in Hawaii, as many of you know, and I still recall sitting on my grandfather's shoulders when those capsules would land in the middle of the Pacific and they'd get brought back and we'd go out and we'd pretend like they could see us as we were waving at folks coming home. And I remember waving American flags and my grandfather telling me that the Apollo mission was an example of how Americans can do anything they put their minds to."
Except, apparently, he was in Indonesia at the time, and with his parents, not grandparents. But, why quibble.

Our Government
When the wicked rule
Are you mourning yet over the spiritual, moral, cultural and political direction of our nation?
"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)
Wicked rulers reject God, embrace evil and impose theft, death and destruction upon the people.
Sounding familiar?
Theft, they got down. Death and destruction? They're working on it, watch what happens when the economy collapses.
I Know...
Let's put government in charge of health care, too.
An Orlando woman just lost her driver's license because of a DUI from 30 years ago.
In fact, officials in Tallahassee seemed more out of date than a pair of bell bottoms, unable to explain whether Frey deserves a license or if she's been driving illegally for 30 years. Either way, the system seems to have broken down. So, for now, she sits idle, unable to drive, but with some advice.
"Anybody who goes to that driver's license office, keep all your paperwork for the rest of your life, cause you may need it," Frey said.

Whether You Want It or Not
Neal Boortz:
Have you noticed something rather odd about Obama's seizure of America's health care system? This odd little fact has been hiding, as they say, in plain sight. The only people who are really pushing this government takeover of health care are "activists" or politicians. There is absolutely no public pressure to get this done.
How Can You Tell When a Statist is Lying?
His lips are moving.
Obama on health care: "This isn't about me. This isn't about politics."
To Obama, everything is about Obama, and everything the statist does is about politics.
Moment of Clarity Coming to More Americans
Dennis Prager says Americans Are Beginning to Understand the Left
There is only one good thing about the Obama administration's attempts to nationalize most health care and to begin to control Americans' energy consumption through cap-and-trade: clarity about the left. These attempts are enabling more and more Americans to understand the thinking and therefore the danger of the left.
Very good points in there, give it a read. The truth is getting out, at least to those willing to hear.

We are now so spineless, I will never see a man walk on Mars
Their fellow-pilots died in fires and crashes. They used sextants and slide-rules and bits of paper to navigate space, and when the Eagle finally landed, the Eagle was within seconds of running out of fuel.
The whole thing was so touch and go that it simply wouldn't be allowed today. The insurers wouldn't go near it. The risk assessments would be fatal to any such venture. The rockets would remain on the launch pad, choked and smothered by the lianas of health and safety.
The tragedy of our age is that the lawyer-ridden western world is 100 times more phobic and more paranoid than the generation that flew to the Moon.

The Writing is on the Wall Blog for All to See
The Long, Agonizing Decline of the United States
The root cause of Great Britain’s decline and of ours is the disavowal of Christianity and the adoption of the secular, materialistic religion of socialism.
Socialism upends the individualism, self-reliance, and moral imperative of the Christian ethos, transferring all of it to the political state. Individuals, burdened by huge taxes and trained over the generations to look to the government for everything, become passive and focused almost exclusively upon personal sensual gratification.
Peace at any price is rationalized under socialism’s phantasmic vision of world government administered by councils of intellectuals, whose superior knowledge (materialistic gnosticism) will bring about harmony among all peoples, ending crime and war.
Families and personal responsibility decline in frequency and importance, to be replaced by sexual promiscuity, drug abuse, and unmarried mothers with morally untethered children. Crime rates rise, personal saving declines, and people become wards of the political state, believing that they are entitled, without regard to personal effort, to a share in all of society’s goods.
Great Britain’s history limns our future.
There are no excuses.

The World on the Brink - of Insanity
Mark Steyn: The Ecopalypse, 96 Months Away?
"Capitalism and consumerism have brought the world to the brink of economic and environmental collapse, the Prince of Wales has warned... And in a searing indictment on capitalist society, Charles said we can no longer afford consumerism and that the 'age of convenience' was over."
He then got in his limo and was driven to his other palace.
The sharp mind of the Prince of Wales, oh yeah, he's an expert on global warming and economic collapse. Gaia's pope.
Capitalism is liberating: You’re born a peasant but you don’t have to die one. You can work hard and get a nice place in the suburbs. If you were a 19th century Russian peasant and you got to Ellis Island, you’d be living in a tenement on the Lower East Side, but your kids would get an education and move uptown, and your grandkids would be doctors and accountants in Westchester County.
And your great-grandchild would be a Harvard-educated environmental activist demanding an end to all this electricity and indoor toilets.
Environmentalism opposes that kind of mobility. It seeks to return us to the age of kings when the masses are restrained by a privileged elite. Sometimes they will be hereditary monarchs, such as the Prince of Wales. Sometimes they will be merely the gilded princelings of the government apparatus – Barack Obama, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi. In the old days, they were endowed with absolute authority by God.
Today, they’re endowed by Mother Nature, empowered by Gaia to act on her behalf. But the object remains control – to constrain you in a million ways,

No Creator Reqiured
"The DNA Code" - New Research Shows Life Hardwired in the Universe
The implications are staggering: good news for anyone worried about how we're alone, and bad news for anyone who demands some kind of "Designer" to put life together - it seems that physics can assemble the organic jigsaw all by itself, thank you very much, and has probably done so throughout space since the beginning of everything.
The person who wrote this article must be 12. It may be as this article says, DNA wise - I don't pretend to know - it is irrelevant. Where did the physics come from? How did the DNA get programed to do what it does? From where came the matter? The atoms, the protons, neutrons, electrons, quarks? The atom didn't just put itself together. Physics can't assemble the organic jigsaw without a program, instruction, or laws that govern how it acts.
What was the beginning of everything? And how? The universe had a beginning and it will have an end. Earth is not permanent. The sun will burn out. Every species - animal or plant - that is alive today will die. We live a temporary existence in a temporary world. Is there a different, timeless (for lack of a better word) dimension within which our universe exists?
Everything in the universe is beautifully and intricately designed, from whatever angle, near or far, where ever you look, the artistry is amazing, awesome. We stand humbled by every aspect of the universe if we stop long enough to notice. To steal a popular phrase, "Open your mind" and see the truth. It takes an intelligent, ordered mind to create something - anything. The more complicated, the more intelligence is required, be it a chair, a house, a car, a computer. Artistry and design require a mind.
The universe is perhaps billions of years old but a man all of 18 years old or so decides he knows it all came together by itself, no Creator required. He is wise beyond his years.

Never Give a Sucker an Even Break
I Still Hate You, Sarah Palin By David Kahane
I don't know why I'm telling you this, but maybe now you're beginning to understand the high-stakes game we’re playing here. This ain't John McCain's logrolling senatorial club any more. This is a deadly serious attempt to realize the vision of the 1960s and to fundamentally transform the United States of America. This is the fusion of Communist dogma, high ideals, gangster tactics, and a stunning amount of self-loathing. For the first time in history, the patrician class is deliberately selling its own country down the river just to prove a point: that, yes, we can! This country stinks and we won’t be happy until we’ve forced you to admit it.
In other words, stop thinking of the Democratic Party as merely a political party, because it’s much more than that. We're not just the party of slavery, segregation, secularism, and sedition. Not just the party of Aaron Burr, Boss Tweed, Richard J. Croker, Bull Connor, Chris Dodd, Richard Daley, Bill Ayers, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and Emperor Barack Hussein Obama II. Not just the party of Kendall "Agent 202" Myers, the State Department official recruited as a Cuban spy along with his wife during the Carter administration. Rather, think of the Democratic Party as what it really is: a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.
You really must read that whole article. The nation really needs to open its eyes to what is really going on here. I don't believe most people who identify themselves as democrats think this way but they are blindly following and trusting some very dangerous people.
Most of us have neither the time nor inclination to keep up with and understand all the issues of the country. We have our own lives and loved ones to worry about and trust our elected leaders to do the right thing, but while we've been looking the other way they have been becoming increasingly emboldened to do what benefits them, empowering and enriching themselves at the expense of the people. They are selling this country down the river - you better believe it because it's true.
They are using your greed against you, your desire to get something for nothing, the oldest sales approach in the book. Well, here's the oldest advice, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Yet people still fall for it.

In humor there is Truth
Why Does Barack Obama Hate Our Economy?
The leading theory on why Obama hates and wants to destroy the economy is its focus on merit, which is an anathema to Obama. In a capitalistic society, you need products that actually do useful things so you can sell them and make money. You can make all the claims you want, but at some point people are going to expect the product to actually do something.
That has to be a foreign concept to someone who has written multiple autobiographies before ever actually accomplishing anything. He expects people to take his word that he’s really smart and great without ever having to do anything to prove it. That doesn’t work in our economy; think of the Amazon.com reviews he’d have if he were a product. Yes, a few people would think he looked neat and preorder, but soon he’d have a bunch of one-star reviews saying, “Doesn’t actually do anything. Don’t waste trillions of dollars on it.” You can see how Obama might be angry at something that would find no value in him, like the economy.

All eyes on Honduras
Even if you know little or nothing about the crisis in Honduras, nearly all you need to know in order to ascertain which side is morally right is this: Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega, Cuba's Castro brothers, the United Nations, and the Organization of American States are all lined up against Honduras.
And Obama.
"Tax-and-Bankrupt" Energy Policy
Let's cap all the hot air from D.C.
During a long but little-reported interview with the San Francisco Chronicle in January 2008, candidate Barack Obama explained how his "cap and trade" energy policy would affect consumers if he became president:
"Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket….Because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was . . . they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."
Unfortunately, this is one of the campaign promises that Obama plans to keep.

They want to track each person? Sure, just inject a small carbon emitter detector into the left frontal lobe of each person that beams signals to a central data collection center in the basement of the White House. No problem. What could go wrong?

Honduras at the Tipping Point
Why is the U.S. not supporting the rule of law?
Mr. Zelaya's violations of the rule of law in recent months were numerous. But the tipping point came 10 days ago, when he led a violent mob that stormed a military base to seize and distribute Venezuelan-printed ballots for an illegal referendum.
All but a handful of my letters pleaded for international understanding of the threat to the constitutional democracy that Mr. Zelaya presented. One phrase occurred again and again: "Please pray for us."
Hondurans have good cause for calling on divine intervention: Reason has gone AWOL in places like Turtle Bay and Foggy Bottom. Ruling the debate on Mr. Zelaya's behavior is Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez, who is now the reigning international authority on "democracy."
What a shame that the leader of the free world is on the wrong side of this, too. But it is not surprising, anyone actually paying attention and reading the signs knew where he was on the political spectrum a long time ago. He is proving us right.
A Loss for America
The Triumph of Crony Capitalism
The effect of Obama's approach to business has been enormous. In less than six months, he's changed the relationship between the private sector and Washington. Companies increasingly "compete for government favoritism, not for consumer choice or preferences," says Republican representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.
"Members of Congress are being besieged with calls from businesses who have an expectation of getting a check from Washington," Ryan says. "The business mindset is, if the government is going to pick winners and losers, I want to be a winner. What it means is all roads lead to Washington."
The weeds are taking over the garden.
I Wonder If He'll Get the Trains to Run On time?
Warning: American Gestapo ahead
The similarity is remarkable, between the rise of the Democratic Socialist Party now in control of Washington and the rise of the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany in the 1930s.
Led by an articulate orator, the German government set out to nationalize health care, transportation, manufacturing and law enforcement. The Obama government has set out to nationalize manufacturing of autos and the finance industry. The Obama-backed "cap and trade" legislation will effectively nationalize the energy and transportation industries. And Obama's nationalized health care program is on the front burner.
Now here's another similarity: nationalization of law enforcement. H.R. 675, sponsored by Democrat Rep. Bob Filner, was introduced to:
"Provide police officers, criminal investigators, and game law enforcement officers of the Department of Defense with the authority to execute warrants, make arrests, and carry firearms." (Emphasis added.)
I think the similarities exist because the ideology is the same - they're both Socialists. Hopefully it ends more like Honduras than Germany. We'll find out where this goes soon enough.

Yee Haw!
Global warming is so last century
President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and their chums are spending at a rate that threatens American stability. And, except for the scale and the dollar figure, it's all been tried before, and it's all failed before. There's nothing cool about Obama. He's a nonstop square dance, swinging us around till we're dozy, and he's got all the dough.
Good read.

Nearly a Laugh ...
Liberals are almost comical. . . almost
These are the people that support murdering unborn children, and then call members of the military "baby killers."
These are people that accuse the Republicans of being all about greedy big corporate America, and then applaud Obama for spending tax dollars on bailing out greedy big corporate America.
These are people who accuses conservatives of dictating to them what they can do in their bedroom, and then shoves the gay agenda into our living room, schools, and streets - and uses thuggish behavior when Proposition 8 passes in California.
These are people who scream and cry whenever it is even mentioned that Creation ought to be taught alongside Evolution as a possible alternative in our schools, then pushes for homosexuality to be taught as normal in the school system, regardless of what parents think, or desire.
These are the people who enjoy the prosperity of the United States, and then blame Capitalism for a struggling economy that is the result of decades of liberal economic tactics.
These are the same people who believe that the best way to solve the struggling economy is to more than double the national deficit.
These are the same people who believe that the best way to make health care better is to allow the government to take control of it, and ration care.
These are the same people who believe that freedom is a wonderful thing, unless Iranians, or Hondurans cry out for it.
These are the people who hate capitalism because they say it encourages greed and then force laws down the throats of the American people that stagnate and kill the economy so they and their friends can siphon
Pigs.

Stop Feeding the Monkey!
'We're in the Middle of a Crash'
Anything that's fragile like the financial system will eventually crash, he said.
"We're in the middle of a crash," Taleb said. "So if I'm going to forecast something, it is that it's going to get worse, not better."
The government needs to deleverage debt and not try stimulus packages that will inflate assets, he said.
"What makes me very pessimistic in not seeing any leadership or awareness on parts of government on what has to be done, which is deleverage $40-to-$70 trillion," Taleb said.
"The monkey on our back is debt," he added.
The Illusion of Openness and Transparency
Not working anymore?
"The point is the control from here. We have never had that in the White House. And we have had some control but not this control. I mean I'm amazed, I'm amazed at you people who call for openness and transparency and you have controlled..."Listen till the end.

This is Not Funny
Everything inside the state
The Obama Administration has begun paving the way for the massive tax hikes that anyone capable of coherent thought knew were coming. A clumsy attempt by the White House spokesman to dodge the issue was met by laughter from the press corps, and outrage from anyone more interested in their own future than President Obama’s political success.
Every American needs to read that.
Did He Just Use California As a Positive Example?
We know the benefits. In the late 1970s, the state of California enacted tougher energy-efficiency policies. Over the next three decades, those policies helped create almost 1.5 million jobs. And today, Californians consume 40 percent less energy per person than the national average -- which, over time, has prevented the need to build at least 24 new power plants. Think about that. California -- producing jobs, their economy keeping pace with the rest of the country, and yet they have been able to maintain their energy usage at a much lower level than the rest of the country. --President Barack Obama
In the late 70's, California started its spiraling descent into the morally and financially bankrupt state that it is today. That's what he wants for America? It is the policies of the left, the progressives, that have brought California (and Michigan, New York, New Jersey, among others) to its knees.
He wants what happened to California to happen all across America? That's not acceptable.
The Foundational Document
Why a Bill of Rights?
Why did the founders of our nation give us the Bill of Rights? The answer is easy. They knew Congress could not be trusted with our God-given rights. Think about it. Why in the world would they have written the First Amendment prohibiting Congress from enacting any law that abridges freedom of speech and the press? The answer is that in the absence of such a limitation Congress would abridge free speech and free press. That same distrust of Congress explains the other amendments found in our Bill of Rights protecting rights such as our rights to property, fair trial and to bear arms. The Bill of Rights should serve as a constant reminder of the deep distrust our founders had of government. They knew that some government was necessary, but they rightfully saw government as the enemy of the people and they sought to limit government and provide us with protections.
Beware the Goggles!
School bans pupils from wearing goggles
"If it carries on like this we are going to be breeding a generation of namby pambies.
Going to be? I'm surprised they're still allowed to use pencils.
