You'd Think they Were Deliberately Trying Starve Populations Downward

I mean, seriously, we have to use food as fuel?
Each year, an ever larger portion of the world's crops — cassava and corn, sugar and palm oil — is being diverted for biofuels as developed countries pass laws mandating greater use of nonfossil fuels and as emerging powerhouses like China seek new sources of energy to keep their cars and industries running.

But with food prices rising sharply in recent months, many experts are calling on countries to scale back their headlong rush into green fuel development, arguing that the combination of ambitious biofuel targets and mediocre harvests of some crucial crops is contributing to high prices, hunger and political instability.
Who comes up with this stuff? Do they actually sit in a room and figure out ways to make other peoples lives miserable? You would think that was the intention, they are so damn good at it. Everything progressives try makes things worse than before, but of course they come up with more solutions to make things even worse and so on down the road to absolute bloody hell on earth. The world has been there, done that several times and has the t-shirts to prove it. STOP already.
