The tax man is coming for the middle class
"This is, initially, gonna seem like heresy from a progressive," [Howard] Dean said in an interview with MSNBC. "The truth is, everybody needs to pay more taxes, not just the rich. That's a good start, but we’re not gonna get out of this deficit problem unless we raise taxes across the board."Because up until now no one has been saying that... Oh, sure, conservatives, Tea Partiers, Libertarians have been saying it but who listens to them? Progressives tell you the lies you want to hear, sweet little lies that make you feel all fuzzy inside.
"This is the fundamental problem in American politics and it's the fundamental problem with democracy in general," Dean said. "Somebody has to tell the Middle Class that either your taxes are going to go up or your programs are going to get cut or else we're going to go into financial oblivion, and nobody really wants to tell them that."
