The Mailbox

I stopped at Home Depot this morning on my way home and bought a mailbox. The cashier said, "Your mailbox got hit, didn't it?" "Yes," I replied, "How did you know that?" She just smiled. Obviously she was guessing, I could have been buying it for my new house or just buying a bigger one or replacing an old rusty one. Who knows. All I know is Joe from Joe's Tractor something or other was working across the street and backed into my mailbox. ( I live on a very narrow road.) He was nice enough to tell me about it and told me he would pay for it. And my mail got wet. It couldn't take a break from raining one day.
