You Can't Play War

Some people think the world should be a safer place to live in now that we have started a war on terrorism. They say every time there is another act of terrorism it is proof we are doing the wrong thing. Every time a bomb goes off, such as the one today in Baghdad or the bombs in Spain, it's because of the war and they blame the United States (Bush specifically) for the deaths.

That idea is ludicrous. Once we made the decision to fight back (for real) , you have to know that the terrorists will not just give up and go away but as long as they believe they have a chance to win they will fight back. That's what war is. You have to expect that there will be an increase in attacks. They will try everything they can. If we give up when they dare fight back, they win. They will continue to attack until they acheive their goals (the fall of western civilization). We have to continue the fight until they can't take it any longer, until they can no longer do any more damage to us (they're dead). That is the only way to stop it. When you start a war (and we didn't start this one, we got to the point where we can no longer ignore it), the casualties increase on both sides and there will continue to be casualties on both sides until they can no longer fight back. That may take a while. It's something we just have to know and accept. No sane person wants this war, but it's a war that must be fought if we are to continue our way of life, our republic, and if we want to continue to be free to choose the direction our lives take. I know I do. I don't think any clear thinking person can walk away from this fight. To do so would mean your (and your children's) death.

To say Iraq has nothing to do with this war is also ridiculous. Before it's all over, unfortunately, other Middle Eastern countries may also have to fall. That's their decision. Some of them won't make the right one.
