Blogger let me login yesterday but I couldn't access my blog to post anything. Computer problems two days in a row, wow. At least it wasn't my computer.

Today was quite a day. The Eurovan got worked on and it didn't like it. I drove Irma to work, came home and pulled the van up on the ramps. The coolant leak is now too bad to drive. The leak is coming from the oil cooler at the rear of the engine. According to the manual all the parts can be replaced without removing the engine. How nice! I pulled off the filter to get a look, barely. From the bottom it is way up beyond a maze of crossbars, the right axle, and power steering rack. I found the reason for the oil leak, the oil cooler nut was loose and oil was getting past the o-ring. Two coolant hoses enter the cooler and that is where the coolant leak is. I drained the coolant and sqeezed my hand up there to take off the hose clamps. It took about half an hour to get the hoses off the cooler.

In the mean time James is playing in the driveway and I'm trying to keep an eye on him at the same time. He was behaving and having fun with his tricycle and playing with his truck. When I drained the coolant he became immediately fascinated with the coolant flowing into the bucket and tried to move it. He threw some sticks and rocks into the bucket and I finally got him to move on to something else. Thank you James.

After I got the hoses off I took off the nut and removed the cooler and found the problem. The part that the hose connects to was corroded badly so I need an oil cooler and two hoses to fix the problem. Both problems, oil and coolant leak. The oil cooler I ordered on the internet because VW prices are outrageous. If there is a stronger word than outrageous then insert that word. The hoses can only be ordered from the dealer. Problem is, they won't order them unless I come up there and pay for them first. Thank you Volkswagen.

Before I went in the house I tried to remove the hoses to get the part numbers. James was still playing close by. I can see the end of the hose and the clamp or I can touch the hose and clamp, not both. I got my arm up there with the plyers but couldn't get hold of the clamp. I played the game of moving into position to see what I was doing to moving to actually do it for another half hour before James figured out I wasn't paying as much attention to him and he started wondering farther and farther. About the time I decided to give up and needed a different tool I see James going down by the drainage ditch (now empty) and knew he'd end up in the road if I didn't stop him. I crawled out and ran down just as he had crossed the road into the neighbors yard and the woman sees him and comes out with her little boy to watch him. (We live on a deadend and cars don't come by very often, and when they do James gets far away from the road to watch them go by. Still, I realize the danger.) Now, I am filthy from oil and anti-freeze and it was just embarrassing to go over there to get James and say hello and I think she just thought I was kind of strange (probably true). James was put in time out in the car seat until I finished cleaning up. I never did get the hoses off.

After we cleaned up and took a nap we picked up Joshua from school and drove the 25 or so miles to Classic VW in Orlando to order the hoses. James wanted to drive all the new cars! Then we drove back to Kissimmee to pick up Irma. On a side note, when we got about a block away from her work, driving a different direction than usual, and her building not yet in sight, James points in the direction of her job and says "Mommy's work." We had to wait about 20 minutes for Irma so the kids watched cartoons in the waiting room (mostly). On the way home James took off his seatbelt and I told him to put it back on. He wouldn't. I told him I would stop the car and he would be in big trouble. No. I tried to put it on but he was fighting me, so I pulled into a parking lot, stopped, got out and walked around, opened the door and he was sitting like a little angel with the seatbelt all buckled up like nothing had happened. I had to hide my face cause I couldn't stop laughing. It's been a long time since he tried to do that, I don't know why he did it today.

Today was a busy day and I'll have to drive Irma to work at least the rest of the week. I just hope James will take a nap every day.

I tried to logon the internet all night but it kept saying I was already logged on. All night. I called home to see if the computer was connected and it was not. And I couldn't call the ISP because they have 9 - 5 hours. Wonderful. I hope it doesn't happen again. I watched Pearl Harbor instead. I never saw it before, it was pretty good.

James has been a real handful. Today he just refused to take a nap. He stayed in the crib but just would not go to sleep. I brought him to my bed after a (long) while and he just wanted to play, There was no sleep in his eyes. He's like a man stuck in a (not even) 3 year old body. He thinks he can do anything. He likes to make coffee for his mother and actually does much of it, I pour the water and milk and handle the hot coffee. He scoups the coffee grounds and sugar and stirs. Then he takes a sip to test it.

He wants me took cook mac n' cheese so off I go. He better eat it!

I heard a couple of ambulances go by and 15 minutes later I hear a helicopter overhead. That can only mean one thing at this corner - someone traveling on sr 535 went through the light at hwy 192. The problem is you can't. I've seen about 5 cars go through that light and hit the hotel on the other side and everytime the helicopter lands in the road out front. This time it didn't hit the hotel because the owner put a solid concrete wall up to stop the cars...it worked! Pieces of the car kept going, but the car stopped!

So I decided to walk out to see what happened and the helicopter came directly overhead as it was looking to land. I thought it wanted to land where I was walking but he landed it in the street. It felt like a hurricanne and it blew sand and junk all over the place. I had to duck behind a car to get out of it. So the car hit the wall at high speed and pieces of the car and wall kept going and scattered through the parking lot. A headlight was right in front of the lobby and I found his radar detector and various other car parts too. What a mess. Small cars don't do well after hitting a solid object. It took 2 helicopters to evac the people.

Today was not a good car day. I had to break down and buy 4 tires and an alignment for mine. It couldn't wait any longer. The VW has an oil leak and small coolant leak in the back of the engine where you can't reach. I can see it in a mirror but there is no way to get your hand in there. And I repacked the cv joints but apparently didn't quite get one back together properly and I have to take it apart and redo it. They are the tightest cv joints I have ever seen and you need a special tool to take them off, and putting them back on isn't any easier. When I took the first one apart I noticed the teeth were damaged from the last mechanic who did it. Maybe I did the same to the other? The Eurovan is a very nice van but be prepared to spend big bucks to get it fixed if it breaks. And be warned that most every repair shop will say they can work on it but it requires special tools for many mundane items and you may be stranded in a hotel overnight waiting for the dealer to open for some silly little thing like an accessory belt. It happened to me in Delaware. Now I carry that (expensive) tool.

I know compared to the rest of the country I have nothing to complain about but I hate this cold weather! It wouldn't be so bad if it actually snowed. No such luck here. It's so warm hot here all year long everyone has plants that die if the temperature goes below freezing. We have the news giving us play by play temperature updates when it gets this cold. If the temperature goes below 32 degrees for an hour or so it's OK but any longer and the crops die, farmers lose all kinds of money and there is a state of emergency for farmers.

James still insists on taking his shoes and socks off every chance he gets (especially in the car) and he takes his shirt off half the time at home. I don't think he understands cold weather.

With so many people inside and outside this country thinking contrary to common sense, in fact in a way which, if followed, would result in the destruction and overthrow of the United States and western civilization, you have to wonder what could possibly be causing them to be so blind to the obvious. Every day we delay taking care of Saddam Hussein we are letting him dig in deeper and giving him the advantage of plenty of time for preparation to kill more of our troops. And it is our troops who will be on the line here. Not German or French troops. Our friends, brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers. Our people. And members of our own government are shamelessly using our troops lives to (they hope) solidify their own positions and gain further control of the power of this government and it's people.

It's obvious to me that there are forces at work here beyond our comprehension. Why would people act in a way which would insure their own destruction? They really want to convert to Islam and live under a government like that of Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan or any other Islamic country. Really?

In the United States not everyone lives according to your beliefs. Sometimes that is frustrating. But you can live just about any way you want. You have the freedom to worship the God (god) of your choice or not, in whatever way you believe. You can live the lifestyle you choose in relative peace. The government is not going to jail you, kill you, or otherwise harass your life for living your chosen lifestyle as long as you don't harm others. Granted, we seem to slip now and again and things happen that shouldn't but for the most part that is a rare occurance. Do you REALLY understand the significance of that? How rare that is in this world? How special this country is? Do you realize it is slipping away, that there is a cost to maintain it, that the rest of the world desperately wants to take it away from you?

These "anti-war" types really need to get a clue. But they won't because they are being influenced by forces beyond our physical dimension. By demonic beings living amongst us and influencing our minds, shaping our societies and trying to bring humanity to it's end. So says the Bible, believe it or not. World War II was brought about by those same beings trying to force the return of Jesus Christ before the world was ready for it and was a taste of things to come. There are wars going on in that spiritual dimension, wars of wills. Demonic beings trying to force God off His intended timeline and plan to bring about the destruction of mankind and angelic beings defending against that and shaping things the way God intends. Balancing between what man wants to do, because He is letting us have our way in shaping the world and governing ourselves (He stays out of your life and doesn't force His will on you), and what is the plan of God. And Gods plan will run it's course exactly as He intends.

And that's the Good News. God is in total control even though it doesn't seem so. In fact He stays out of our way because we don't want Him. And still the sun shines, the rain quenches and you take your next breathe and have the opportunity to enjoy another day of freedom in this United States of America. It will not always be so.

Today James was playing under a little tent he made with the rocking chair. I was grabbing his feet and tickling him. He said, "What you doing, daddy?" "I'm tickling you." He said, "No thank you, Daddy."

I think it's more than obvious that America is a ship that's sinking. Slowly for sure, so slow that alot of people don't even notice. And then there are those who know but just don't want to think about it. They can't do anything about it anyway and they put themselves into their work or some other time wasting activity to forget about everything going on around them. But in the back of their minds they know. They can't help but see it in so many different areas: education, family values, health, infrastructure, government, entertainment, crime, attitudes, and too many other areas to list. It seems sometimes the more advanced we get, the worse these problems become. Still, it gets ignored. It will get better, right? We will find a way. We will survive. We will, right?

One of the many things that annoyed me about my Windows computer is that despite being a multi-tasking operating system, it doesn't do it very well. Whenever I'm playing an mp3 and open another program the music would inevitably skip a number of times while the other program opened. And when burning a cd you can forget about doing anything else. I just tried it on the Mac and it didn't so much as skip a beat. I played a mp3 and opened 4 other programs at the same time. Perfect. I haven't yet done it while burning a cd but I have a feeling it will give the same results. I have nothing but praise for Mac OS X. Microsoft promised XP was a stable, solid operating system that wouldn't crash - they lied. They lied again. Mac OS X is everything they promised in XP and more. It doesn't crash and reboot itself. You don't have to reboot it to solve little problems that creep up or get it to recognize the cd burner. Mac OS X just works. For everything I've done so far it just works. I'm happy!

James is eating a bowl of All-Bran cereal. That's what he likes. With chocolate soy milk. He gets it from me, I know, but little kids are supposed to like Captain Crunch or Frosted Flakes or some other kids cereal, right? He won't eat that stuff. Hey, I'm not complaining just observing. BTW, he has also been known to turn down cookies and candy more often than not. Actually with candy, he says he wants it, he tastes it and plays with it, but it usually ends up in the trash.

He woke me up screaming from our nap today. I didn't know what was going on! I ran into his bedroom and he was standing in the corner of the crib. "What's wrong?" He went to the window and pointed. "A'ner, A'ner." Huh? I looked out and our friend Abner was out there. What a surprise!

So I am back to work after 2 days off. It's the coldest it's been this season (lows in the 30's) and we lost electricity twice this weekend. It went off sunday morning around 4am and James woke up crying that the lights broke. Then I had to find my cell phone and call the electric company to report it, turn off the computer and UPS to stop the beeping. Crawl back into bed with James between us and try to get more sleep.I did sleep until Joshua got up and I heard him in the kitchen.

We went to Irma's mothers house for lunch which turned out to be dinner because of a malfunctioning railroad crossing. Traffic was backed up and there was a cop on the other side of the road holding the gate open for them while our side sqeezed 3 lanes to 1 lane to go around. We left the house at 1pm and got there at 4pm and it usually takes just less than an hour. I was falling asleep so I was shocked to see the time. I'm glad I missed it.

I was craving pancakes and farina since morning so she made that for me. Her mother spoils me. Irma asked me how many I wanted and I said 3 but she already made 6 and then added more. I was stuffed and I got rid of the pancake craving for a while. Plus farina and hot chocolate. And she kept offering more. I never want to eat again!

What would they do about Hitler?

If the American people spoke as one to stop the nonsense going on in Iraq and N. Korea there would be no need for war. If you stand up to a bully he will back down.
But of course these leaders are fully aware that they are tearing this country apart. Of course we don't want war. We don't want any trouble with anyone. The FACT is, living in this world is like living with a pack of wolves. If you're the alpha male, you damn well better not show any weakness or they will take you down. And we are showing weakness and they are gathering around and they will rejoice to bring us down. It's raw human nature. That's the world we live in. Not fantasy, utopian, star trek federation, socialist bullshit. That's not real no matter how much you hope for it. The only way we can have relative peace is if everyone else fears us enough to keep them from thinking about starting anything, but it's way too late. Too many have too much for that.

I went back to feeling like crap today. And James knows when to take advantage. He was such a bugger today and ended up in his crib in timeout about 3 times. Most days he behaves much better and I rarely put him in timeout unless Joshua is home getting him riled up. Then they both go. I barely made it till Irma came home.

We never used to see any cats in our neighborhood, suddenly, in the past year I count about six different cats wondering about and hanging out in our yard. I beginning to get tired of it. I don't think anyone on our street owns them and I've seen some of the same cats a couple of blocks away on occasion. I enjoy the wildlife that we have in our area, but cats are not wildlife and they disturb the other animals. Especially the birds. I just love it when the turkeys come by and sit around the yard.

I don't know what I can do about it. Maybe I can find something to chase them away. I'm not a cat hater by any means, I just think it is irresponsible to let your pets wander the neighborhood, even cats. I like dogs too, but I don't want other peoples dogs in my yard. I don't let my snakes out to cruise the hood. That would take care of the cat problem though.

Today, Irmas' mother came over around 11:30am to watch James. I was supposed to sleep till 3pm and take Joshua to his psychologist appointment. I was awake at 3 but she said the appointment was cancelled so I just stayed in bed till 7pm. It's been a while since I've gotten that much sleep. I didn't take any medication all day and didn't need it.
I feel alot better as long as I don't breathe too deeply or laugh.

I was feeling dizzy all day today. I didn't take anything stronger than dayquil, but just felt unusually sleepy. While sitting on the sofa trying to read (Mac OS X - The Missing Manual) I woke up a few times to James poking me. When I actually was able to go to bed I really didn't sleep well and kept waking up. Besides being sleepy and having a bit of a cough I feel better now than earlier in the week.

I was getting ready to bathe James and discovered Joshua got in there first and was taking too long. I already had his clothes off. We played ball a little, knocked on the door but Joshua wasn't done yet and went back to play ball. James saw a little picture album we keep in his room and started looking at it. One of the pictures is James in my Mothers kitchen sink taking a bath. He got up and walked to the kitchen, climbed up into the sink and started taking a bath. I was laughing until he took the kitchen sponge to wash with.

I haven't been feeling too good lately. I don't know if it's the flu or what. I got it from Irma and I remind her of that on a regular basis. She doesn't care. I have to take dayquil to feel half way decent. Oh well, it will pass.

When I left for work the other night I heard a wierd screeching sound coming from the neighbors across the street. It sounded like maybe a parrot or monkey or something and it seemed to be outside the house but I couldn't see it. I looked when I got home in the morning but there was nothing unusual and I haven't heard it since. I'm used to hearing farm animals, we've had the occasional pig visit the house and even a cow got loose and wandered into our yard a couple of times. And there are chickens and roosters within earshot. But not like this. I'm curious because I heard the same sound here at work once, near the house on the lake. Maybe it's me. Some people hear voices, I hear strange birds!

Once, I heard a dog barking in that area by the lake and then it started crying and then tapered off. I don't know if the owner came out and smacked it or an alligator got it. I'm still curious.

I just caught a glimpse of the Dali Llama in India on CNN and there were swasticas (?) on the sign below him.

They don't teach history anywhere I guess. The generation coming into power now has no idea of the horrors of war. Real war. Not video game, hit the target, win the game TV war. All out, life or death, nothing barred, 30 or 40 million dead, entire cities burning, stench of death everywhere war until you're so sick of it you have nothing left to give, no heart or soul left. After world war II, the world had had enough war.

Sure there have been wars since, but nothing to compare to world war II. The nations don't remember, they really have no idea. Now we are approaching a third world war, slowly but surely. And we don't know how to stop. Everything we do makes it worse. Doing nothing won't stop it either. If we do nothing it will still continue to get worse, too many people are getting caught up in the fever. It's taking on a life of it's own.

The German economy is not doing well. Comparisons to the 1930's are being drawn. A United Europe headed by Germany will rise up as it did pre-world war II. This generation does not know, does not understand the forces at work here. Anti-Americanism in Germany is on the rise and while it's not yet like Korea, it will get there. Irma was up in the attic today and called me so I went to see what she wanted. James followed me to the garage and climbed right up the ladder to the top! That little monkey!

Blogger is not working again! Since yesterday. Who knows when you'll be able to see the posts. Is this China?

"To deep clean your tile and grout use sulfamic acid". That's what it said on one of those do it yourself tv shows. Well, no. First, I used a product called Tile-Aid. It's a tile restorer and it works just about as well as water alone. Don't waste your money.

The sulfamic acid has warning labels: Wear gloves and safety glasses. And it may etch some tile. Do not get it on metal surfaces. Wow, this will surely work. Sorry Charlie, it works better than Tile-Aid but just doesn't do the job.

There is a product at Home Depot called ZEP (it may be the heavy duty toilet cleaner that I'm thinking about) and it works like nothing I've ever seen. Just spray it on and the hard water deposits melt away. That's what I'm talking about! They didn't have it when I went, so I got the sulfamic acid. I hate it when that happens. I should say I have very, very hard water and no water softener. Yet.

During the Godzilla movie I heard them say "they look really pissed off". I said "What did he say"? Joshua repeats it, then James says it too. Great. Why does he have to pick up every word. I didn't remember Godzilla movies having language like that but this movie turns out to be a 90's remake of Godzilla and Mothra. But it looks like the original. They use a few more choice words too. And now I can't get the Mothra song out of my head.

Grandma came over today. James loves when she comes over. They are sitting on the couch watching Godzilla. I am so grateful for the help. I get to relax for a few minutes. :)
They went out for a walk to see the cows. I mean, he hasn't been out to see them since...this morning!

Joshua is eating and watching TV and he's taking his sweet time so he doesn't have to do his homework. He was just staring at the TV, not eating and I called his name. "I keep forgetting"! Yeah right! Why do your homework now, get it done, and enjoy the weekend if you can put it off to the last minute and get all upset cause you don't have time to finish.

I know, I know, I do it too. But I do feel so much better when I do something when I need to do it and get it done. Now I'm going to clean the bathroom.

Today it's a beautiful day! After the cold weather we've been having it's such a relief. The kids have been outside riding their bikes - James loves to be outside. When we were coming home from picking up Joshua from school James yells out " Hey dad, look, a cool car"! I looked at him, then to my left - it was a yellow VW New Beetle. He has a matchbox like it.

He's really beginning to pick up alot of words now. The other day when I was changing him he was singing and he says " one, two, three, four, five, seven, nine". I tried to get him to repeat it but he won't do it if you ask him. He's a lot of fun. During the day he'll play quietly with his toys, sometimes watching TV, sometimes he turns it off. Joshua can't live without the TV on. He likes me to set up his blocks so he can knock them down. When Joshua gets home he starts getting too excited though. They really play rough sometimes and usually Joshua ends up the one crying. Most times they play nice, like now. Joshua is ten, James will be three Feb. 28.

I downloaded the Safari browser for Mac OS X and all I can say is wow! It works great and loads fast. It needs tabs though, that's my only problem with it. Of course, it's still in beta. Nice work Apple.

The more I use and learn about OS X the more impressed I am. I can't say enough good things about it. It's fabulous! Absolutely fabulous!

Oh, I almost forgot. X11 for Mac OS X!

I just found out my mother-in-law witnessed a murder/attempted suicide! She was going to her english class and watched in horror as this girls boyfriend chased her down and stabbed her to death and then himself. She's so upset. I really don't know any more, it just happened this morning. What a terrible thing to have to see.

I don't know the reason this happened today but someone who I worked with (different departments) did that to some poor girl on her college campus. Shot her then himself because he couldn't have her. What kind of crap is that? At least he died. Anyone who does that doesn't deserve to keep living. I can't for the life of me figure out why some guys get like that. If someone doesn't want to be around me just go ahead and go. If you're not with me because you want to be then what is the use? Where's the fun in that? Maybe it's time for a little introspection and move on, not force her to stay by intimidation or force.

I just spent a couple of hours looking through some photo albums of Japan at the web site of Ejovi Nuwere. He seems like a great guy and I loved his pictures. I wish I could go back for an extended visit. I liked his Hitchhiking across Japan series. I rode a motorcycle from Tokyo to Hiroshima and stopped in Kyoto on the way. What a beautiful country. Bizarre sometimes, but never boring. Now that I'm older I think I would more appreciate the experience, on a deeper level. Not that I didn't but, well, time flies and before you know it you have to go home.

We spent Dec. 25 in Hiroshima and that is a very moving experience. On the way home when we were in Kyoto it started to snow. We were running low on cash and there is a treacherous (in snow) mountain pass to continue to Tokyo. And it was getting dark. The snow was accumulating and we were already out of the city. We found a hotel but it was one of those love motels and it was just too much money for the night. They jacked it up because they knew we were on a bike. We went to a restaurant and ate and sat for a couple of hours. There was another couple that had the same problem. We both left at the same time. There was at least an inch or so on the roads and the other couple decided to pay for the love motel. We didn't have enough money so we rode on. Just a couple of miles further we found a ryokin, a japanese inn. It was very reasonable and warm and very traditional. It's sort of like staying in someones house. In the morning the bike was covered in snow. The roads cleared and as we went through the mountains I knew we would never have made it through the night before. I was so glad for that inn.

I have a few things to add. You have to read Kaddish For Zelig posted on The Truth about Israel There is always a link to this site in my list of blogs. These people don't deserve what they are going through and have more than earned their right to exist as a nation through their own persistance, intelligence, hard work, and blood. Too much blood.

And I know most people don't believe it, but the nation of Israel consists mostly of descendants of the tribe of Judah mixed with Levi, Simeon and some Benjamin. In the bible Judah and Israel were two separate nations. The House of Israel to the north with it's capital at Samaria and the House of Judah with it's capital at Jerusalem. I &II Kings and I & II Chronicles deal with the seperate histories of Judah and Israel. II Kings 16:5,6 shows Israel at war with Judah.

Israel was taken captive over many years by Assyria and were brought out of Israel where they eventually were sifted through the nations. II Kings 17:6-18 tells you why. Only Judah was left. Judah has always kept the Sabbath and therefore did not lose sight of who they were. The Israelitish nations completely lost all knowledge of their ancestry. Today you find The United States of America and Great Britain the only nations ever who could fulfill the prophecies concerning Israel, which were to become the greatest single nation and the greatest company of nations. Brother nations. Mannassah and Ephraim.

I'm not gonna go through all this, you most likely couldn't care less anyway. I did watch 'A Beautiful Mind' yesterday - it was good, I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again though.

When I'm at work I have usually a couple of hours worth of work (when it's slow) and then I just have to babysit the hotel for the rest of the night. Most of the time I eat after I finish my paperwork and one thing that never ceases (my mind went blank for a second trying to spell cease. Hold the jokes please.) to amaze me is no matter what time I finish, even on the slowest nights (like tonight) as soon as I take the food from the microwave, sit down and put the first bite in my mouth - the doorbell rings. It drives me nuts. Nobody before that, nobody after.

I went traveling to Japan tonight on the web and made a few interesting finds. PhotoTokyo looks interesting. But SushiCam really caught my eye. He has a journal entry about climbing Mt. Fuji here complete with photos. I climbed Mt. Fuji at night and got to the top about an hour before dawn. It was awesome watching the sun rise from there. I don't remember any bad smells like he says, but it was a hard climb. It's not something you want to do again, at least not for a long time.

I walked up with a woman I met on the tour (she turned out to be an officer, 1st lieut., I think), which turned out to be a smart move because she brought a flashlight. Women always seem to think of the obvious. Climbing all night, you might need a flashlight, eh. She was the outdoor type and we kept a good pace. I wasn't worn out by the climb but by the time we got back down I remember saying "never again". It was cold at the top too, and thats the first place I remember drinking tsubu tsubu. I may have masacred that name but it's a very pulpy orange juice and tastes great. I have a real hard time finding it here, sometimes in an oriental grocery.

I just did a search and look what I found. I guess I did spell it right.

I brought a few cd's full of mp3's and I want to burn a couple of cd's to listen to, so I think I'll give the internet a rest for a little while. See ya.

I came across this blog yesterday: dnainjapan - it hasn't been updated since August but it talks about the hot summers in Tokyo. It brought back alot of memories for me, so I especially enjoyed reading it. I was stationed at Yokota AB in Fussa, a suburb of Tokyo. On those hot days we'd take our motorcycles up to the mountains, to Okutama I believe. There was a reservoir there and it was cooler but I found a little road leading further up the mountain and if you park and walk back into the woods there was a waterfall and a natural pool that was so beautiful and inviting. The only problem was it was so much cooler there you didn't want to go swimming anymore! Talk about a tease!

I found another new (to me anyway) religion: Volkswagenism Now, I've always liked Volkswagens and I own one but come on people! I know, I know, tongue in cheek.

HBO is not doing too bad tonight. I saw Don't Say a Word. I've seen it before but I like that movie, even though I didn't think I would when it came out. Now they're showing Men of Honor. I like that one too. And at 4:30 am: A Beautiful Mind - I've never seen it but from what I've heard of it I most likely will watch it. I can't put 100% attention to it anyway.

The future of the United States of America is grim. From what I understand of the Bible (and you and most christians may believe that is nothing), the world is in for a very rough ride and the worst of it will begin in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the stumbling block. The United States of Europe will sweep into the Middle East to take control with the help of the Vatican and the (probably) next Pope. The United States of America will be in economic ruin and many cities physical ruin - devestated. Devestated by Europe. Chinese and possibly Russian armies will head to the Middle East to challenge Europe. But all the armies will fight what they believe is an invasion from outer space. And they will all be destroyed.

I don't want to see this happen, it won't be pleasant. I don't look forward to seeing this happen to people. I do look forward to what will happen immediately afterward - the return of Jesus Christ to take over all the nations of the world and to rule them with a rod of iron. No more tears, no more fear, no more sick bastards raping and killing little girls and leaving their broken and dead body on the side of the road like trash. And no more taking 20 years to put them to death for doing it. This sick society we live in now will be gone and I won't be sorry for that.

I am not saying this to convert you. I can't do that anyway. In fact I know you don't believe that I know anything about what God has planned. "All the theologians and churches don't know but you do"? It's OK really, if I'm wrong you can live your life in peace and I hope it's long and prosperous. What I believe only really effects me... if I'm wrong. But when you see these things happening before your very eyes, perhaps, if you remember and pray, God will grant you repentance and allow you to take part in the first resurrection.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Now you can get back to something important.

I can't believe this. A reporter got fired for telling the truth. Political correctness is a curse on this country and because of it we are completely unable to defend ourselves. We are cowering little weenies. And when the bombs start dropping on this country, and they will, I hope they hit the universities first and the newsrooms second. Here's the link. We had some serious rain all evening and into the night - finally clearing around 2am. I'm glad it wasn't me out there watching the fireworks at Disney! I could hear them though, I thought it was thunder at first. It was raining so hard for so long everything is flooded here at the hotel. The lawn and flower beds are overflowing onto the sidewalks. Water was seaping in the side door in the lobby. There must have been alot of people at Pleasure Island because they've been coming in here all night. One guy needed to put his clothes in the dryer. The streets were flooded too. There was a car stuck in the road on my way to work and my car missed a couple of times, I was just hoping not to stall.

Now I'm just so tired I want to go home. Irma took the kids to her mothers for the night so I can get some sleep when I go home. James got his hair cut yesterday. He wanted to get it cut and was so good waiting. He just played with some Monster Inc toys they had. When it was his turn he sat down and held still but after the barber got done cutting around his ears James announced he was "done". He did sit nicely for the rest of the cut but he kept looking around and saying he was done every few minutes. Joshua and I got our hair cut too - uneventfully of course.

The world is full of idiots like Saddam Hussein, Bin-Laden and Kim Jong-il and all the miriad evil wannabees oppressing people in various Central/South American, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian countries. They happily take all the money the United States will give them and/or they can get from oil profits and stash it away in overseas accounts, build massive palaces and build up a military to rid the world of Jews (middle east) or to blackmail the U.S. into giving them more money (Korea) instead of using it on the people and then have the gall to blame the U.S. for their problems. The United States is far from perfect and it sure isn't a righteous, God-fearing nation - it has it's share of sins - but it doesn't even come close to being as bad as most of the rest of the world and the U.S. has been a huge blessing to this world in more ways than you can count. The worst part is hearing fellow Americans criticize this country as if it is the bane of the world, which they learn in our schools and so-called institutions of higher learning. ( Which are the bane of this country) Right is wrong, wrong is right. Or is it "there is no right or wrong"?

I wish they would stop harping on this cloning thing too. It's really not that big of a deal. Basically what they are doing is just a fancy form of artificial insemenation, it's very difficult but not magic. Just bypassing a natural process. The baby that results is still a 'never was before, never will be again' individual. It can never be exactly like the donor in every sense and will grow up with different experiences and be an individual just like everyone else. It is nothing like the movie Multiplicity and never will be. As far as using the fetus (a baby) as a donor for organs or to transplant a brain into, would you do that to any other child? Would you allow the use of an unborn baby (a fetus) for brain stem research? I know some people would and those who deny God exists and therefore do not accept His laws can find it easy to justify.
Actually, humans can and do justify horrible acts. Pol Pot, Stalin and Hitler thought nothing of killing millions of people in the name of their 'better way', their vision of utopia. You and I can't even imagine that. What about Idi Amin or Saddam Hussein. Millions of babies are killed every year right here in the US of A. Horribly. There was a time when that was unacceptable. They say abortion should be legal in case of rape or danger to the mother. But are millions of women raped every year?
Cloning in and of itself is not the problem, it's what they want to do with the clones. That's the problem. What will they think of themselves when they learn the truth?

Also got some cheapo speakers so I can hear when I play a DVD. They work pretty good. I don't want to drag around big speakers for a laptop.

Actually, it is possible to determine the birthdate of Jesus Christ. Luke 1 is the chapter that deals with the begettal and birth of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. It states in Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. Notice he was of the course of Abia. Also note Luke 1:25, 26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. So Jesus Christ was begotten 6 months after John the Baptist.


Quoting Bullinger's Companion Bible Appendix 179: This was the eighth of the priestly courses of ministration in the Temple (1 Chronicles 24:10), and occurred, as did the others, twice in the year.

The "Courses"were changed every week, beginning each with a Sabbath. The reckoning commenced on the 22nd day of Tisri or Ethanim (Appendix 51. 5). This was the eighth and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles = the "Great Day of the Feast" (John 7:37), and was a Sabbath (Leviticus 23:39).

Bearing in mind that all the courses served together at the three Great Feasts, the dates for the two yearly "ministrations" of Abiah will be seen to fall as follows:

The first 9 ministration was from 12-18 Chisleu = December 6-12.

The second ministration was from 12-18 Sivan = June 13-19.


The announcement therefore to Zacharias in the Temple as to the conception of John the Baptist took place between 12-18 SIVAN (June 13-19), in the year 5 B.C. After finishing his "ministration", the aged priest "departed to his own house" (Luke 1:23), which was in a city in "the hill country" of Juda (verse 39).

The day following the end of the "Course of Abia" being a Sabbath (Sivan 19), he would not be able to leave Jerusalem before the 20th.

The thirty miles journey would probably occupy, for an old man, a couple of days at least. He would therefore arrive at his house on the 21st or 22nd. This leaves ample time for the miraculous "conception" of Elizabeth to take place on or about 23rd of SIVAN - which would correspond to June 23-24 of that year. The fact of the conception and its date would necessarily be known at the time and afterwards, and hence the 23rd SIVAN would henceforth be associated with the conception of John Baptist as the 1st TEBETH would be with that of our Lord.

But the same influences that speedily obscured and presently obliterated the real dates of our Lord's "Begetting" and Birth, were also at work with regard to those of the Forerunner, and with the same results. As soon as the true Birth day of Christ had been shifted from its proper date, videlicet: the 15th of Tisri (September 29), and a Festival Day from the Pagan Calendars substituted for it (videlicet: December 25), then everything else had to be altered too.

Hence "Lady Day" in association with March 25 (new style) became necessarily connected with the Annunciation. And June 24 made its appearance, as it still is in our Calendar, as the date of "the Nativity of John the Baptist", instead of, as it really is, the date of his miraculous conception.

The Four "Quarter Days" may therefore be set forth thus: in the chronological order of the events with which they are associated, videlicet:

The conception of John Baptist on or about 23rd SIVAN = June 24 in the year 5 B.C.

The Genesis (Begetting) of our Lord on or about 1st TEBETH = December 25 in the year 5 B.C.

The birth of John Baptist on or about 4th-7th NISAN = March 25-28 in the year 4 B.C.

The birth of our Lord on or about 15th TISRI = September 29 in the year 4 B.C.

The "Annunciation" by the Angel Gabriel marked the genesis of Matthew 1:18, and the first words of John 1:14.

The announcement to the shepherds by the Archangel Michael marked the Birth of our Lord. John 1:14 is read as though "the Word became flesh (Revised Version), and dwelt among us", were one and the same thing where - as they are two clauses.

The paragraph should read thus:

"And the Word became flesh; (Greek ho logos sarx egeneto.)



And tabernacled with (or among) us." (Greek kai eskenosen en hemin).

The word tabernacled here (preserved in Revised Version marg.) receives beautiful significance from the knowledge that "the Lord of Glory"
was "found in fashion as a man" , and thus tabernacling in human flesh. And in turn it shows in equally beautiful significance that our Lord was born on the first day of the great Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, videlicet: the 15th of Tisri, corresponding to September 29, 4 B.C. (modern reckoning).
The circumcision of our Lord took place therefore on the eighth day, the last day of the Feast, the "Great Day of the Feast" of John 7:37 ("Tabernacles" had eight days. The Feast of Unleavened Bread had seven days, and Pentecost one. See Leviticus 23).

End of quote from Bullinger's Companion Bible Appendix 179

Jesus Christ was born on the 1st day of the Feast of Tabernacles, 15 Tisri - September 29 on our calender - 4 BC.

A couple of points: Christ "became flesh" at his begettal. If Mary had an abortion at any time after conception Christ would have died. Abortion is murder.

God does everything on time. Significantly, Christ was born on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles and circumcised on the Last Great Day. Almost no one knows anything about these holy days. Yet they are not Jewish, Christians should be keeping them now and the whole world will keep them after Christ returns. Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

One more thing, there is no feast or holy day marking the begettal of Jesus Christ. We are commanded to keep God's feasts, but He also says: Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

At least they know He wasn't born Dec 25. Here's the verse:

Matthew 2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

And here is a verse which sheds some light on the answer:

Revelation1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

In Matthew 2:9 the star went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. So the star was actually leading them directly to the child, it wasn't just in the eastern sky. If they saw a bright star in the sky and headed toward it they would never reach it. It could never lead them directly to a person. And as the earth rolled it would move or not be visible anymore. In light of the definition of a "star" in Revelation 1:20 and the context in which "star" is used in Matthew 2:9, it becomes clear that the star is actually an angel.

Here's one for Windows: Make Windows Work Better One tip to a page, kind of a pain to get through it but looks like some great tips. Some I've seen before and some I'd like to try if I ever feel like firing up the windows computer again. Hee hee.

Here are a couple of computer articles written by John C. Dvorak. The first one is Upstarts Attack Microsoft Slackers and I've included it here because I agree with it 100%. My first choice in browser is Opera, then Mozilla. I use explorer only on those sites that will not work with the others. Usually this is because they decide for me that my browser won't work on their site. In Opera you can tell the browser to identify itself as explorer and most times that works perfectly. I try to have it identify itself as Opera most of the time because I want webmasters to know there are people out there using it.

The second article is Obituary: OS/2. It seems IBM has killed off OS/2. I used to use OS/2 back when most people were using Windows 3.11. I could not figure out why nobody wanted to use it, I loved that operating system. It was way ahead of it's time. Too bad.

I've been getting more and more comfortable with Mac OS X. I'm thinking about setting up the printer so I can connect to the Mac and I can't think of any other reason to use Windows anymore. I feel free!

"PLAYING THE RACE CARD …THEN BLAMING IT ON REPUBLICANS

If you were watching Paula Zahn on CNN this morning you saw Congressmen Gregory Meeks (D-NY) and J.C. Watts (R-OK) discussing (what else?) the Trent Lott situation. During the course of that conversation Meeks, the Democrat, was doing his level best to portray the Republicans as generally bigoted and racist.

During his rant Meeks told Zahn that he has actually seen campaign literature with the picture of a black family and the words “If they win, we lose.” Meeks presented this as an example of the racism that is a part of the Republican Party.

OK … now here’s the rest of the story.

That campaign literature was prepared and used in Georgia. Yes, it did have a picture of a black family; and yes, it did have the words “If they win, we lose.” What Meeks didn’t say this morning on CNN was that this campaign flyer also had a picture of a white person … a Republican candidate. In the flyer the “they” referred to the white guy, the “we” was referring to the black family.

Interesting, isn’t it? The Democrats create a bit of campaign literature designed to frighten blacks into voting Democrats by telling them that if “they” (the Republicans) win, “we” (black families) lose.

This has to be the first piece of “dual use” campaign literature I’ve seen. You use the flyer during the campaign to frighten blacks into voting for Democrats; then, after the election is over, you attribute the flyer to Republicans and use it to illustrate their racism. "

I saw the documentary on the Bismark on the Discovery channel and it is really good. It's fascinating to see the ship after all that time out of our reach and watch the reactions of some of the crew who were on the ship when it was sunk. That ship was huge. If you are at all interested in the events of world war II you really need to see it.

For the past week James has been asking "why?" everytime you ask him to do something. It's cute mostly but when he's doing something wrong it's very annoying.
He has a large ball and he was sitting on it and rolling off. It was so cute so I went to get the video camera and he decided he would rather search for the toys he dropped behind his crib and he wouldn't do it anymore. The next day he did it again, then told me to get the camera. So, off I went happy to finally get a shot of him doing it and when I got back maybe 20 seconds later he wouldn't do it anymore again!
I took him to a park last week and he had alot of fun chasing the squirrels. He would chase them to the tree and it would hide on the other side and he says "Where'd he go?" Sometimes he would try to climb the tree - he even tried to use his nails like claws to follow them. We saw an otter sitting on the boat ramp eating a fish and he scared it away by screaming at it. He spent alot of time trying to catch the birds too.

#1. America does not intend to or want to destroy Iraq or it's people. America wants only to get rid of an evil man who thinks nothing of torturing and killing anyone and everyone who he perceives is a threat to him, his dictatorship, or his eventual plans of being the modern day Saladin. Sometimes just for fun. And who has the means to do it. America would be doing the people of Iraq a favor. Right or wrong.

#2. America, according to those who interpret our laws, is not a Christian nation and does not acknowledge God as having any moral, spiritual, or legal leadership of this country. America looks to the strength of its leaders, its people, and its allies. The god of your choice is on the shelf in case of emergency.

#3. Although He doesn't intend or want Christians to fight for Him (Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.) Jesus the Christ of Nazerath, who was the God of the old testament, ( John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. ) will in the future, at His return - and not before - Make War with all the inhabitants of the earth who will not accept Him as world ruler.

God is not against standing up for what is right.

The fact is, if America or someone else doesn't get him, and he's still living when Christ returns, he will be bird food. But alot of people will have suffered miserably in the meantime.

Psalms 7:9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.
